most people have a problem with the current transactions not only you and i have done with this before that my transactions was unconfirmed more than 3 days because of low fees and after those days i thought it would be confirmed soon but fortunately the transactions was cancelled and bitcoin back to my wallet however there is a chance your transaction will be just like mine
Hm if btc are eventually back it is not the worst case IMO.

Is it realistic to expect the tx stuck for ever without returning BTC or it will eventually be "forgotten"?

Hi.
2 days ago I ended up sending a tx with 73.004 sat/B fee (yes my bed) while now the recommended fee is 260 s/b.
Thank god the amount was not very large.
So can some one tell me if there is any real chance the tx confirms ever or will it stay unconfirmed? Do you often see low fee txs stuck forever?

P.S. Am I the only one who got bothered by all this only recently? Since 2013 I've been sending txs with default blockchain fee and they were getting 6+ confs in about an hour? Those delays never came to my mind.

It will reflect eventually. once you have btc you cannot amend the transaction fee. i think blockchain.info creates the fee automatically. Just give it some time it will eventually appear.
Ok thank you.
I've read somewhere that if tx is unconfirmed for a while the network can forget about it in several days. Is this the case with blockchain or will it bump the transaction and never forget about it.

I wouldn't be so worried in your place. Two hours are not that much, it happens. I had experience with 24 hours waiting for confirmation, that was really annoying. Or sometimes it happens that the first confirmation comes very fast and then I have to wait hours for the next two. Maybe the fee was too low, maybe it's because of the network but at the end you will probably get your tx confirmed.

Depends on how low the fees was but it should. Though it could take days.
And 2 hours isn't really anything these days. Post your tx id.
Currently recommended by http://bitcoinfees.21.co/ is 100/byte.

Recently there was a sudden influx of transactions and this has pushed fees to be higher. Once those transactions clear, the recommended fee will drop.
Okay thanks for your kind answers. The last question is - should I expect the transaction to clear ever or rather forget it?

Just writing some code
How do I know what was the fee,
Look up your transaction in a block explorer and it will tell you. Your wallet should also tell you.

how can I manipulate it in future (make it higher),
Most wallets have an option to do that. I don't use blockchain.info and they have changed since I last looked at it, so I am not sure. Generally it is considered "advanced" to change the fees so try looking in advanced options or something like that. If you have the option to use dynamic fees, you should always use that.

how high the fee should be
The recommended fee constantly changes and depends entirely on the current network status. http://bitcoinfees.21.co/ shows what the current recommended fee is in Satoshis/byte. If you are unable to use dynamic fees, but have the option to set a fee in terms of satoshis/byte, then set the fee based upon this site before making a transaction.

and why I didn't have that issue before?

The likely issue is that the fee is too low.

Just writing some code
What is the txid of your transaction?

The likely issue is that the fee is too low.

Ignore BC.i's time estimation, if it's very inaccurate.

I've sent btc (small amount of ~$3) shortly after I got them from some one else. Now after ~2 hrs transaction shows to be unconfirmed. I never encountered something like that before.
The store where I spent requires six confirmations so I wonder if it didn't pass one conf how long will it take for 6 of them if it is likely to happen ever. Before when I sent money 6 confs took about an hour (e.g. around 10 min per confirmation).
Also I wonder what could be the reason for this bs, is it only some bug or it has anything to with how I sent the transaction? I usually just press send in my blockchain.info dashboard, type in amount and address and am done.

Estimated Confirmation Time is shown to be "Very Soon (High Priority)", but idk if it reflects anything.
