There are many problems and worries in the world today. It has become very difficult to start living with peace and a calmful mind. These worries and tensions cause blood pressure. There is also an unfertile condition for earning  & living in the third world countries. There is a lack of pure food, diet, pure water, and pure air. All these also cause tension and blood pressure. Another cause of blood pressure is the distance of people from religion and God.

Sometimes I heard some local news that boys as young as 22 died of a heart attack triggered by high blood pressure. This kind of news doesn't happen in the 90s and most likely in the 80s too. It's just in the early 2010s that I heard such news.

They say you have to balance your emotions actually if you are happy, you better not be overjoyed because you are endangering yourself. Grin So you shouldn't be serious all because this thread is in the Serious discussion.

120/80 would be normal right?

People in the US are obsessed with salt, and so many people are on medication for high blood pressure. Is it overblown? Will we in 20 years have a completely different perspective on this?

How does blood pressure over time damage the body, and what does it mean to have high blood pressure?

When you're running, what is a normal blood pressure? When you're at rest? And what is that at rest? When you sleep?

How do those number correlate?

Is blood pressure as easy to quantify as a person's weight. How can one person be more fit or less depending on blood pressure?
To get updated on this information is to meet a physician or a physiologist. They will put you in line, and give you all details you need to about blood pressure. And how to regulate blood pressure

Invest big money in a crypto trade without much research and you'll learn what blood pressure is. Or if you want to learn it more quickly then invest in a future trade without research and you might achieve the next level of blood pressure and that is brain hemorrhage.

All I know is High pressure in our blood vessels can cause people to die from lot of medical conditions and the important one is cardiac arrest, it is easier to keep them in the certain level is very easier but the medical supplement needs to continue to keep them in the level but we can reduce them on our own by changing the lie style by knowing the root cause of high blood pressure in our body.

Regular cardio along with mind relaxing exercise like yoga can help us with it.

I am curious as I want to imagine this is happening in my body. Let's say I ran for 30 minutes and I became very tired and my pulse increases. Does that mean that the blood flow in my body increased speed? Like the flow of blood in my veins became so fast because I am tired. If that is the case, does that mean anything in the blood veins that might obstruct or become an obstacle might be loosened because of the faster blood flow and hence it can help me from getting a stroke or a cardiac arrest?

high blood pressure is caused by many things.

too much fluid.. not enough fluid
too much salt. not enough salt
too much cholesterol
heart failure

let explain each.. as separate incidences. separate causes of high blood pressure

heart failure
your heart has 2 pumps. a pump in and a pump out. if one of these fail/weaken. then the other has to work twice as hard. they do this by pumping harder to get the fluid in your veins/arteries to move around your body more. meaning more fluid pressure

salt.
your body does need it. just not too much of it
too much of it causes your body to 'dry out' (retain too much water in your cells leaving less free fluid in your veins/arteries)
which with more water in the cells swells and tightens the walls of your veins and arteries. this effect makes it harder to push fluids around freely along with the lack of free fluid to move around your body causing your heart to work harder thus push/pump more per heartbeat.

this also triggers your body to say you are thirsty.. to try getting more water ingested. and also sends signals to retain fluid(tells kidney/bladder to slow down)

to much fluid
either just drinking excessively and not urinating enough. or the imbalance of the salt example
so now you have more fluid in your veins and arteries. which means your heart is pushing more fluid around in narrow veins/arteries. thus. higher pressure if you have excessive water.

not enough fluid
also not having enough fluid(water) means the salt your body does need is not being diluted to preferred amounts. causing more drying out.
and separately because there is not enough fluid your body has to try sucking(pumping in) harder to get the fluid back to the heart, and then blowing(pumping out)  harder to get that limited fluid around your body.

too much cholesterol
this is the build up of fat in the vein/arteries that make less fluid able to pass freely making your heart have to pump in harder and pump out harder to get fluid around your body

your body does need water. fat and salt. but your body has to have the right balance.
salt is needed for nerves and muscles
without it salt inside a muscle/cell wont retain water it needs to function. meaning it just becomes lose water
which then is not in the muscle where needed but in the vein where not needed. so you urinate it out. leaving your muscles weak and demanding more water. so you need salt. for muscle function.

yes low salt can also cause high blood pressure
its all about balance. mostly your water and salt intake and your urine output

in short.
dont cut out all salt your muscles, cells, and nerves need it . but if you have the recommended salt amount.
if you have a healthy heart and healthy liver/kidneys. more water is better than less salt.
(your will just urinate out any excess water to regulate the balance)
if you have a damaged heart and/or damaged liver/kidneys. less salt is better than more water.
(as you cant regulate the water aswell)

but in either case dont go excessive on salt. still have the recommended salt amount. but dont deprive yourself of salt below recommended amount

I believe the best person in position to answer all these your questions is a doctor, cause we can only give you answers based on our level of exposure or knowledge. We can always Google the answer to your questions and submit it here just to aid your understanding of the concept of how blood pressure works and effect
to human body.

From a general view, Blood pressure is just the force that is require to pump blood from the heart to other part of the body per surface area. In physics, Pressure is equal to Force per surface area.
In blood pressure, force is required to pump blood around the body, if not the blood would never be in motion or move. The speed of the force is what determines whether the blood is high or low. This is how the word High blood pressure and low blood pressure comes into play.

Yes.

People in the US are obsessed with salt, and so many people are on medication for high blood pressure. Is it overblown? Will we in 20 years have a completely different perspective on this?
Yeah we will ban salt once 75% of the population will be on medication.
How does blood pressure over time damage the body, and what does it mean to have high blood pressure?
Stroke, eyes, kidney and cardiac damage. Our pipelines could not handle high pressure for a long time.
When you're running, what is a normal blood pressure? When you're at rest? And what is that at rest? When you sleep?

How do those number correlate?
Ups and downs depending from stress and rest. After all it is a 1 number all the time.
Is blood pressure as easy to quantify as a person's weight. How can one person be more fit or less depending on blood pressure?
Higher weight + lower activity = higher blood pressure and vice versa.

You are right, fat accoumlation in the body can lead to high blood pressure, someone's lifestyle generally can have effect, that is why it is good to exercises to burn fat (Generally exercise do good to the body), eating healthy foods and fruits and sleeping early (not sleeping late at night). But also we should avoid too much stress, it can also result to hypertension, both physical or emotional stress.

About the type of food to eat, we should avoid fatty foods, scientists research that eating cholesterol directly in diet is not responsible for high bad cholesterol level in the body (low density lipoprotein), but what is most responsible for the bad cholesterol in the body are fatty foods, most of this are directly eating from diets. Reducing fat intake will really help in the body not accoumlating bad cholesterol.

My parents both have high blood pressure and cholesterol and hence when I was diagnosed with both of them when I was 18, I was surprised but not so much. The doctor told it was 90% because of lifestyle and a little bit because of genetics, and truly, I am a lazy sloth, as compared to earlier when I used to atleast "cycle" which I quit after learning to drive scooter, my weight in few months went up so did my body became fat and I was diagnosed with those. It's really a very straightforward fact, it truly depends on how much you rest, how much fat you burn and how much fatty foods you eat (and I eat them a lot). Although I tried to change my lifestyle radically, the lockdown harmed me a lot. It's really not good to have these, I can't comment on what side effects these have but having these alone makes a person always sweaty, restless etc and an uneasy feeling all the time!

I don't know why you are asking these questions in a Bitcoin forum. I am certainly not qualified to answer them, but a simple google search led me to this: High blood pressure dangers: Hypertension's effects on your body
I like reading and engaging with a lot of different sources and people may have an interesting perspective. Doctors and health organizations are bound by doctrine and certain other legal liability....

My point is that nobody here is likely to have the knowledge and expertise to answer your questions. If you want answers to your questions, google is a better alternative.  On the other hand, if you want the expert medical opinions of Jet Cash, et. al., then I suppose you have come to the right place.

Thanks for replying, so the idea is that your build up plaque that obstructs the flow of blood and pressure increases? Then that plaque breaks and moves into other places causing more trouble?
Yes, exactly. The artersclerotic plague formation itself narrows the blood vessels which triggers blood clot formation (thrombolus), the blood clots travels to smaller arteries, this obstruct the blood flow. This result to high blood pressure that result to hypertension. But this is just during pathological conditions as I explained above.

So, the high blood pressure (hypertension) is not a disease, but indicating a disease that can result to organ damage is present in the body. This can be treated in time if known earlier through medical checkup.

But if not treated, the ischemia (lack of blood blood flow that resulted to lack of oxygen to an organ) causes the cells of the organ to be degenerating leading to necrosis (abnormal cell death) which later cause the death of the whole organ.

I have mentioned some examples above, if the brain is affected and no blood flow to the brain, it will lead to stroke. Before it leads to stroke, the blood pressure would have abnormally increased, leading to hypertension, but people will not even know they have hypertension, the reason we need to check our blood pressure often.

Another example is the cardiac arrest as a result of lack of blood flow to the heart.

Another one is angina.

And another is kidney failure.

If you are interested knowing about angina,  you can read about it.

I've thought of blood pressure as this bad thing like obesity. I always wondered which organs it can damage and how, especially things like the eyes and the brain. I also find the correlation of weight and extra blood pressure interesting.

Maybe the problem being trying to send blood to a body constricted by all the extra fat, then the pressure increases everywhere. Cue tea kettle sounds.

A coworker of mine was talking about how he gets headaches when his blood pressure gets high and I think that he said he can feel it in the back of his head.

Well It's Bitcoin forum > Other > Serious discussion

and not

Bitcoin Forum > Seriously only discuss bitcoin and nothing else > The only word accepted is Bitcoin every other word is off the topic

There is Bitcoin > Bitcoin > Bitcoin Discussion and all sorts of other corners of the forum dedicated to topics related to bitcoin and all sorts of corners for altcoins and a whole lot more.

You're right to a certain extent and perhaps I should be talking to members of my family in the medical field or a forum where doctors and nurses and other such people congregate but I chose to post this here.

I like reading and engaging with a lot of different sources and people may have an interesting perspective. Doctors and health organizations are bound by doctrine and certain other legal liability. Here it's just talking to part of the bitcoin community so I think it's a valid topic. Of course if the moderators disagree I'd be okay with this being moved to off topic.

I don't know why you are asking these questions in a Bitcoin forum.

I simply think that the Serious Discussion board is a kind of off-topic or miscellaneous board, where you can ask anything, as long as it is in a serious way, and I think this is supported by the list of threads you can see.

120/80 would be normal right?
.

It depends on you age:

This is for men, if you want to see values for women you can visit the souce:

What Is the Normal Blood Pressure Range?

-snip

You ask a lot of different questions, and I think that if you are simply interested in the subject and you read little by little, over time, you will find out. More specifically, it is normal to have higher blood pressure if you are nervous than if you are relaxed, or if you are doing sport, and so on. The question is, if under normal conditions your blood pressure appears high repeatedly, it can lead to other health problems. In general, most people would improve if they increased their physical activity and ate better.

Blood pressure can increase during normal physiological conditions, but it is also associated with pathological conditions.

Physiological conditions
In the morning before someone wakes up, blood pressure would have started to increase, it starts to drop again in the evening time, it drops little further at night and when sleeping. There is diastolic and systolic blood pressure, but I would not go much further into explaining the difference, but systolic blood pressure do increase to 150 to 220 mm Hg during exercise depending on the extent of the exercise, this is as a result of the heart working more to pump blood leading to increase in blood pressure, but after the exercise, the blood pressure drastically comes back to normal.

Pathological conditions
There are different pathological conditions that can lead to high blood pressure. In this case, increase in high blood pressure can lead to hypertension which can result to organ damage and other severe conditions that might even lead to death.

Obessed people's heart works harder, pumping more blood but yet the arteries will resist blood flow, leading to high blood pressure which can lead to hypertension.

What you should just know is that the pathological conditions that are leading to high blood pressure, can result to organ damage. Like the blood obstruction to the organ as a result of thrombolism (formation of blood clot) which leads to emolism (traveling of blood clots to smaller arteries) which leads to the blood obstruction to that organ, leading to organ necrosis and then leads to organ failure.

Example are:
1. Blood obstruction to the brain that later lead to stroke
2. Blood obstruction to the heart that lead to myocardial infarction (heart necrosis, damage of heart tissue) which later leads to ventricular fibrillation which will result to cardiac arrest and death.

It can happen to any organ in the body. The blood obstruction starts from the development of arteriosclerotic plague in the blood vessels which triggers blood to clot and sent to deeper vessels.

Artersclerotic plague is formed, it results to thrombolus, leading to  embolus, this will result to increase in blood pressure (hypertension). Thrombolus and embolus leads to lack or reduction of blood flow to organs, which can result to damage to the organs like brain, heart and kidney.

This is all I could remember for now, it's been long I read about this.
