Sorry I don't.  You might want to try eBay for things like that though- usually there are many listings.

How did u get them, they're amazing  Smiley Most interesting what's the price for 3.12 carats ?

Hi Moneytalk69, my wife and I used to live in Bangkok.  Thailand is the colored gemstone capital of the world- approximately 70% of the colored gemstones that are sold in Western consumer markets have moved from their source countries (Cambodia, Madagascar, Nigeria, Burma, Sri Lanka, etc.) through Thailand where they are cut and sometimes treated.  We've moved back to the states now and are closing out our inventory.  Where did you see the 3.12 carat stone- on my youtube page, or somewhere else?

it was amazing, very beautiful gem. whether there is a red sapphire? I really liked the color red. and where the place of manufacture of this gem?

When sapphire is red, it is called ruby.  Although sometimes sellers will call a sapphire that has been treated with beryllium a red sapphire.  But sorry, I have neither ruby nor red sapphire at the moment.  I have moved back to the states and am gradually selling off my remaining inventory.

The sillimanite was mined in Mogok, Burma but it was cut and polished in Thailand.  If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

Hi Nara1892,

No, sorry I am not the cutter.  I bought this stone in Thailand but I've moved back to the states now.  This is the only sillimanite cat's eye that I have- no other sizes or shapes.

Thanks for the question!

so do you shape it yourself? or you just buy it and then sell it?
if you shape it yourself, can customer request the shape?

and what is the diameter of it? is it available on a same weight or you have variation?

thanks for answering.

Amazing looking gemstones. Especially enjoy the sapphire, I am a personal fan of collecting rare stones, etc.

Thank you very much!  I have access to sapphire in all colors, shapes, and sizes here in Bangkok so if you are looking for anything in particular feel free to ask.  I can source both untreated and heated sapphire, as well as beryllium-treated stones.  Of course an independent laboratory report is never a problem.

I've just listed two exceptional rubies from Montepuez mining region in Mozambique.  This mining area is producing some of the most beautiful ruby that the world has ever seen.  Please take a look:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNTREATED-Mozambican-pigeons-blood-ruby-GRS-report-1-02cts-WITH-VIDEO-/162195513627?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you are looking for heated or untreated ruby from Mozambique.  I have access to exceptional stones of all sizes from one carat to ten carats and even larger.  Pigeon's blood color has never been so affordable- when Burmese material was the only game in town you had to invest an extraordinary sum to own top color.  Right now pigeon's blood color in one and two carat sizes is within reach for most ruby aficionados.  At three carats the price goes up quite a bit but nothing like 3-ct Burmese ruby, and the vast majority of Mozambican ruby is completely untreated.  As with the two rubies above which I've listed on eBay, independent laboratory reports are never a problem to obtain.  We do business with well-respected labs like Lotus, AIGS, GRS, and Tokyo Gem Lab on a regular basis.

If you want more information on this amazing ruby from Montepuez, Mozambique please feel free to get in touch with me and I would be more than happy to answer your questions.  I am not only a graduate gemologist (GIA), but I am also a stone collector and a ruby lover myself so it's not a bother!

I can supply independent laboratory reports for any stone that you are interested in.  Just let me know which lab you prefer (GRS/Swisslab, Tokyo Gem Lab, AIGS, GIT, Lotus, etc) and I will get the cost and time for you.  Some are quick, some slow- some expensive, some cheap.

THE PHOTO LINKS BELOW APPEAR BROKEN BUT IF YOU JUST CLICK ON EACH ONE YOU WILL SEE THE PICS!

Here is a preview of an AMAZING true FANTA colored spessartite garnet that we will auction off on eBay very soon.  I will not use a reserve price, and the bid will start very low for such an amazing stone.  This UNTREATED garnet is over five carats!!!!  It was mined in Nigeria, cut and polished ONLY.  This color is 100% natural.  This is a gemstone fit for a KING and you will feel like one when you hold it in your hand!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pflFij5YouE&feature=youtu.be

Here are some pictures of this phenomenal stone:

The listing will begin on Paragon Universal Trade's eBay account on Sunday night Eastern Standard Time in the USA.  Here is the link to our eBay store:

http://stores.ebay.com/paragonuniversaltrade

You don't have to be a millionaire to own stones that are fit for a king.  You just have to jump when the opportunity presents itself.

THE SPESSARTITE GARNET IS LIVE NOW; PLEASE CHECK IT OUT:

NOTE: all of the pics below are visible if you click on them

This Zambian emerald is simply stunning, and it is going for a VERY low price right now:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zambian-emerald-NO-resin-only-colorless-oil-1-59-carats-WITH-VIDEO-ships-free-/162162450268?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

This is an emerald that anyone would be proud to own or to wear in a ring or a pendant!  As the auction's end grows near we may see larger bids but right now it is still going for FAR below replacement value.

If you click on the auction link above you will also see a video of this amazing emerald.  It has a wonderful pure green hue with excellent saturation.  It has ONLY been treated with colorless oil- it is NOT a dyed stone like emeralds on eBay so often are, and it has had NO resin treatment.  Only colorless oil has been used- no dye and no resin, which would greatly reduce the value.  Emeralds treated only with colorless oil are the most valuable and desirable, and that is predominantly what we sell.

As always if you have any questions at all about this emerald just ask!  As a GIA Graduate Gemologist, I know my obligations to disclose gemstone treatments, describe stones accurately, and abide by all FTC guidelines.

OF COURSE YOU CAN ALWAYS PAY WITH BITCOIN IF YOU WIN ONE OF MY AUCTIONS!!!  I WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT REAL MONEY!

A good friend of mine from Guinea brought an amazing piece of rough grandidierite to show me today.  WOW, talk about a rare stone!

That piece weighs 155 grams.  It is cabochon grade, but my friend hopes to have some high-quality pieces soon that will cut clean faceted gemstones.  I can't wait!!!  Here is a good article from GIA about this stone:

This smoke-treated Ethiopian Welo opal will list in our eBay store very soon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNv1FPYHoO8

Smoke-treated Ethiopian material is designed to look like natural Australian black opal.  The treated Ethiopian material sells for far less than fine Australian black opal, so this will be a great opportunity to get a beautiful black opal at a very low price.

Of course this is not the only stone that is coming!  Melanie and I have been out on the gemstone bourse in the Jewelry Trade Center in Silom- the epicenter of the global gemstone trade- and we are bringing you the very best stones that Bangkok has to offer!  If you want to see more, please add me on Twitter:

@tiptopgem

This is a really gorgeous fluorite that is not only cut in Thailand (true of most gemstones that we sell), but it also came out of the ground here. This gemstone was mined in Doi Than Ngoam, Phrae Province in northern Thailand and it is a beauty:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_VN0Z6CrgY

This Thai fluorite weighs 9.997 carats, or just a teeny tiny bit below ten carats, and will be in our eBay store in a matter of hours.  Please bookmark this link and keep checking:

http://stores.ebay.com/Paragon-Universal-Trade

Don't assume that it is expensive!  Thai fluorite can be quite reasonable even for fairly large, well-cut, and beautifully colored gems like this example.

The hottest days of summer are the coldest in the gemstone business!  Our slowest months are June, July, and August.  What does this mean for you?  It's a wonderful opportunity to jump on some of our eBay auctions because there is very little competition.  You can often win an item for only the very low opening bid.  Please take a look at our current auctions and grab the bargains!  Most of our listings even have a video:

Keep an eye on our listings because more and more of them are shipping for FREE.  Our customers have spoken and we have listened!

http://stores.ebay.com/Paragon-Universal-Trade

Today I just listed some really beautiful UNTREATED Ethiopian Welo opals, and very soon you will also see a new curiosity- Ethiopian smoke-treated opals.  If you haven't seen one before- wow, are they gorgeous!  They remind me of some of the most beautiful black opals from Australia, but these are not naturally black.  The body color is the result of smoke treatment.  They represent a good value because natural black opal is very, very expensive.  While these smoke-treated opals are natural opal, the dark body color is the result of treatment.

Let me show you a video of one that will be listed soon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlK8sFq0ues

Be cautious when you are shopping on eBay!  Not all sellers are up-front with treatment.  If a seller were to market an opal like this as a natural Australian black opal and list it for a very high price, he might persuade someone to buy it.  That's not very nice!  Unfortunately, tricks like this are extremely common in the gemstone trade on eBay.  I discovered this many years ago when I was living in South Korea and teaching English, before I became a gemologist.  And I thought to myself- hmmm, what if a person moved to Thailand and listed stones for sale and just told the truth?  And it actually works.  Smiley  You can make money in this business without lying to people.  You can make money without selling treated stones as "untreated".  I don't own a Rolls Royce yet, so maybe I am doing it all wrong.  But I think Melanie and I will keep doing it this way!

If you visit Paragon's Facebook page you will see two amazing UNTREATED sapphires that I've just listed.  Type "tiptopgem.com" into any browser and by the magic of the internet you will see them!  If you would rather, you can type "paragonuniversaltrade.com" and you will end up in the same place.  Or just visit the link below...

https://www.facebook.com/ParagonUniversalTradeCo/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel

Both sapphires (the oval white and the octagon-cut very very light yellow) are untreated and include lab reports.  Both are from Ceylon (Sri Lanka).  The 2.62 oval is $390 per carat and the 2.33 yellow is $339 per carat.  Click the link above (Paragon's Facebook page) to see videos of these stones.  I will sell either of them at 5% off if you pay with bitcoin.  Either would make a magnificent engagement ring sapphire.  Note that I also have blue, vivid yellow, green, violet, and purple sapphire for engagement rings!  Get in touch with me via Facebook at the link in this post, or send me a message on this forum.

I've just listed five totally new stones on eBay, and the same rule still applies- if you win an auction you can always pay with bitcoin:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/paragonuniversaltrade/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

One of the coolest is this chrysoprase that is totally untreated.  It was mined from the earth, cut and polished ONLY.  It wasn't heated in an oven or subjected to any chemical treatment, nor does it have fissures filled with oil or resin.  It is only pure, natural chrysoprase- which is one of the most valuable kinds of quartz.  Chrysoprase is quartz that is colored by nickel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWu3TWKm1VQ

If you have any questions about this stone or any other stone that you see on eBay don't hesitate to ask.  I am not only a GG (Graduate Gemologist), I am also an avid collector.  This is not only my business, but it is my passion.  I love to talk about gemstones and would be more than happy to answer any questions that you have.

Several auctions are below $50, some are even below $10 at this point:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/paragonuniversaltrade/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I combine shipping so if you win more than one gemstone, you only pay a single shipping fee.  Of course I always accept bitcoin for any auction that you win!

I can supply any gemstone that you need from untreated ruby from Mozambique and sapphire from Ceylon to Zambian emerald treated only with colorless oil.  If you have a penchant for the truly exotic and rare, whether you want Burmese or Tajik clinohumite or Brazilian alexandrite, or any other collectible gemstone just get in touch with me.  I would be happy to answer your questions via e-mail if you send a private message on this forum, or just go to tiptopgem.com or paragonuniversaltrade.com which forwards to my business Facebook page.

Unlike 99.999% of the gemstone retailers on eBay, I am actually a gemologist.  I am qualified to answer your questions and I would be more than happy to do so- just get in touch.  Whether you have a question about jewelry applications for a certain stone, or about gemstone treatments, or about the current market conditions in the world's largest gemstone trading center here in Thailand, I am happy to hear from you and share what I know!

This is a stunning 18K white gold ladies ring with a Zambian emerald center stone and diamond accents.  This ring is "no compromise" from start to finish.  For example, instead of American white gold that is alloyed with nickel, we use European-style white gold that is alloyed with palladium- a noble metal.  People who are allergic to white gold are allergic to the nickel, and because palladium and gold are both hypoallergenic you won't have such problems with this ring.

The emerald is a natural, mined stone and 3/4 carat, and treated only with colorless oil.  This is not a dyed stone, nor has it been treated with resin.  It is a gorgeous vivid green as fine emerald should be!  The accent diamonds are bright white as you can see in the video; they are not the dingy yellow stones that mass-market jewelers use!  Bright white, clean diamonds cost a little bit more but the stunning visual effect is worth the cost.  My wife and I selected each stone that went into this majestic ring by hand.  We choose only the most beautiful and brilliant stones!

This ring is a USA size 7 but can be resized to fit your special gal for a reasonable cost.  Please take a look at the video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kh4-VJE3L08

Thank you klondike_bar!  This stone would be perfect for a collector of fine gemstones, but it is also quite possible to put it in a pendant.  As long as the bezel is deep enough to accommodate the stone and the base of the bezel is nice and wide all is well logistically.  Here is an example:

And a different one with a side view.  I would have made the base (that touches the neck of the wearer) a bit wider- if you flare that part out, it will be less likely to "flip" while being worn, but you get the idea:

If you are looking for an extraordinarily rare UNTREATED ruby, this is a 1.11 carat Mozambican stone from the Montepuez mining area in northern Mozambique.  It has an independent laboratory report from GRS/Swisslab that is signed by Dr. Adolf Peretti, one of the most widely respected corundum experts on the planet.  Dr. Peretti notes that this stone is "pigeon's blood" red color, which is the most desirable color that ruby can exhibit.  It is an extremely saturated red color and is exceptionally clean and brilliant.  I've been asking 3600USD for this ruby, but if you pay in bitcoin I will accept $3300 plus shipping and insurance.  With UPS Express or FedEx, I can have this stone in your hand in 3-5 days in most any part of Europe, North America, Asia, or Australia for $135.

The sapphire really looks good. Where is your shop located and website name? Do you deliver internationally?

I agree with your username! Smiley

My wife and I have an office in the gem district in Silom, Bangkok- and yes, we deliver (almost) worldwide via FedEx, UPS, or registered mail.  Right now our e-commerce site is down for repairs but both tiptopgem.com (the older company started in 2003) and paragonuniversaltrade.com forward to the business Facebook page for Paragon Universal Trade.  Paragon is our Thai LLC that we established in 2013.

We can supply blue sapphire in any size.  The most common shapes are oval and pear, but rounds and cushions are also available.  Untreated, heated, and stones treated with heat and beryllium are available in the current market.

Feel free to send me a PM here on the forum, or just click on the link at the bottom of my posts and this will forward to Facebook where you can leave me a message.

Thanks!

While ruby is much more affordable since the mining in Montepuez, Mozambique came online, it is still not inexpensive.  One of the most desirable and beautiful substitutes is red tourmaline, often called "rubellite".  This is a beautiful 4-carat example of this beautiful Nigerian gemstone.

No matter which laboratory you prefer, I can get a report for any stone that you buy from me.  Most often clients choose GRS/Swisslab, GIT, Tokyo Gem Lab, or Lotus.  I think it is important for anyone who buys a gemstone to have accurate documentation so they know what they are buying.  It's just good business sense.

Colored gemstones are becoming more and more popular as engagement rings, and we have made our fair share of them!  This amazing blue sapphire ring is a good example of our work.

"Why don't you live in America?"

Although my mother is the person who asks this question most often, I also get it from clients when my wife and I visit them in the states.  And the answer is really very simple- "sustainable competitive advantage".  It's expensive to manufacture anything in America, as you can see from so many manufacturing jobs going overseas.  The cost of providing health care is downright insane.  Skilled workers in the states make more money than they do in Thailand, and that means that our jewelry would have to sell for a lot more if we made it there.  Of course every other part of business life is more expensive in America too- and in the West in general.  Monthly accounting fees, taxes, and office space are just some of the expenses that would be higher if our business was based in the West.

But there is another reason behind us basing our business in Thailand, and that is the cost of colored gemstones here.  The supply chain in this industry is long, convoluted, and inefficient.  If you see a ruby, sapphire, or emerald ring offered for sale in a jewelry store in San Francisco, Detroit, New York, or London or Sydney- it will be expensive.  The jeweler did not buy that gemstone in the colored stone capital of the world, where my wife and I live and work.  They bought it from a wholesaler, who bought it from another wholesaler, who bought it from a dealer who travels here, who bought it from a dealer who lives here!  See the problem?  Of course every person along the way has to eat- they have business expenses to cover and they have to support themselves by making a profit.  But by short-circuiting this supply chain, we can offer you heirloom-quality custom jewelry for much, much less than you would have to pay at home in a Western consumer market.  We can buy gemstones for a very reasonable price here, add a modest markup, and offer them directly to you with no middle-man.

Some people are shocked to hear that we can produce a CAD drawing for $85-100.  There are custom jewelers in the West who charge $400 or more for the same service!  But it all goes back to the lower cost of living here in Bangkok, and reasonable business expenses and lower wages.  Because the stones cost less here, and the labor to draw a piece of jewelry and finish it in precious metals also costs less, the end result will cost less.  I also don't live as expensively here as I would if I was in New York or Los Angeles.  I can live in a high-rise apartment with a great view of the city for a tiny fraction of what I would pay for a comparable living space in an American our European city- so no need to mark up my product by 500%!

If you are looking for a gemstone or are interested in custom jewelry, don't hesitate to get in touch.  I am extremely confident in our sustainable competitive advantage, and when you see how Paragon Universal Trade works, you will be too!

This magnificent heart ruby was mined in Mozambique in the northern mining region of Montepuez.  It weighs 3.45 carats and has been treated with heat and flux.  It includes a report from GRS/Swisslab which denotes "pigeon's blood" color.

Pigeon's blood color is exceptionally rare in ruby.  16,000USD total including independent laboratory report but not including shipping or insurance.  With UPS Express or FedEx I can have this stone in your hand in 3-5 days ($135).

Several months ago I came across an absolutely amazing parcel of three stones.  I had seen sillimanite cat's eyes before, in fact I have sold many of them over the years as they are a desirable, beautiful, and rare collectible gemstone.  But I had never seen such large and beautiful ones.  Most sillimanite is dark-colored and can be reddish-Brown or purplish.  Only on very rare occasions have I seen colorless stones and they were always tiny- less than a few carats.  When I came across this parcel of stones I knew I had to have all three!  The smallest stone was about 14 carats but it has been sold to a collector/dealer in Canada.  The two that I have left weigh 28.48 carats and 38.26 carats.  Keep in mind that the vast majority of the sillimanite cat's eyes on the market are under three carats.  In the event that you see one that is 4+ carats, it is generally a very dark stone.  These are like water- amazingly clear.  It is hard to describe what it is like to hold one in your hand and have the light play over it as the "eye" moves- it is quite surreal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJSj1_IK6-I

Please take the time to look over the sillimanite cat's eyes on eBay if there is any question how rare these stones are!  I have never seen any approaching this size and quality and I would go as far as to say that the 38.26 carat is the finest and largest sillimanite cat's eye in existence.  If you see anything online that contradicts this please forward it to me.  I've been selling colored gemstones for over a decade and have sold hundreds of cat's eyes but have never seen one anything like this.  I looked very hard to find comparables at the Tucson gem show this year- NOTHING.

I priced the 28.48 carat stone at $600 per carat, but I've offered it to wholesalers for $300 per carat.  If a bitcoiner is interested in this stone I will sell it for $249 per carat.

The 38.26 carat stone was being offered at $800 per carat retail, or $400 per carat wholesale.  If someone pays in bitcoin I will take $369 per carat for this one.  This 38.26 carat stone belongs either in a museum, or in the collection of a connoisseur of fine, rare, and exceptionally large gemstones.  It would also make an astounding pendant that would gather attention and questions from anyone who sets eyes upon it.  Most large cat's eye gemstones are very rare, but sillimanite in this size is simply unheard of.  I believe it to be the largest and finest sillimanite cat's eye stone ever unearthed.

Both of these fine stones have independent laboratory reports:

GIT is one of the most respected independent gemological laboratories in Thailand.  Because these are both exceptionally large and rare stones virtually unheard of in this size, I will include (at my expense) an additional report from Tokyo Gem Lab for the buyer.  Very rare stones often have more than one report, and this increases liquidity in the event that you or your heirs desire to resell the gemstone.  Two reports from different independent and well-respected laboratories that both offer the same conclusion in regards to variety and species offers a lot of credibility.

These stones came from a dealer who purchased them in Mogok, Burma and since Mogok Valley is known to produce fine sillimanite this isn't a surprise. Either of these stones would make a superb addition to a gemstone collection, or would make an exceptionally attractive pendant in 18K white gold or 950 platinum.

I just posted more sapphire on my Facebook page so please take a look!

https://www.facebook.com/ParagonUniversalTradeCo

There are some gorgeous yellows posted today.  Some of these already have an independent report from a laboratory.  If you see any stone that I have listed without a report, never hesitate to ask me about it.  I can get a report from AIGS, Lotus, GRS/Swisslab, Tokyo Gem Lab, or any other lab here in Bangkok.

Sapphire is available in yellow, pink, colorless, padparadscha, green, orange, violet, and purple as well as blue.  Blue sapphire is the most valuable.  If you are interested in a different color of sapphire please ask and I will show you some stones and quote a price.  I will either have one in inventory or I will reach out to some other dealers in the colored stone market here in Bangkok and find the right one for you.

The most common shapes for cut sapphire are oval and pear.  The reason for this is quite simple.  Rough sapphire tends to be a bipyramidal crystal, so it is most efficient to cut these two shapes.  This is very important because sapphire is very valuable.  The end user is only willing to pay for the finished weight, so it is in the best interest of the big dealers who buy rough sapphire and cut it to retain as much weight as possible.  If a dealer decided "round sapphires are very attractive and popular; I will buy rough and cut all of them into round stones" he would go bankrupt very quickly.  His yield in finished weight of the stones will be drastically lower than a dealer who turns all rough crystals into ovals and pears.  In effect, by cutting all round stones he is turning valuable sapphire into dust on the floor that nobody will pay for.

It is important to let the shape of the rough crystal dictate the shape of the finished gemstone.  Of course not every rough sapphire is a bipyramidal crystal as you can see in the image above.  Sometimes geologic forces break the crystal, or water tumbles it to erode the original shape, or both!  It is the cutter's job to look at each crystal individually and determine how to save the most weight possible from the crystal.  Besides saving weight for his boss, it is also in the cutter's interest to lose as little as possible because most cutters here in Thailand get paid by the finished weight that they cut.  So not only does his boss lose money when he doesn't make the shape of the finished stone very close to the rough crystal, he does too!

If you have any questions about gemology or about the colored gemstone market here in Thailand, or if you have questions about jewelry please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for the questions!  I ship from Thailand, the colored gemstone capital of the world.  My wife and I have an office in Bangkok at Silom and Mahaesak roads- the epicenter of the gems trade.  We are in BIS/Warner building on the 8th floor, Suite 8A7.  We are just across the street from the Jewelry Trade Center.

The reports that you see above are from a third party- an independent lab.  If you would prefer a report from another lab instead of the report that you see above, that can be arranged.  Just contact me and tell me which lab you prefer and I will let you know the cost.

Shipping is not a problem- we use a secure courier that is an agent for FedEx and UPS and we can ship anywhere on earth (pretty much) in 3-5 days.  Insurance is available at additional cost.

The 4.46 carat sapphire is 1285USD per carat and the 3.12 carat sapphire is 1100USD per carat.

Thanks for the questions and feel free to ask if you have any more!
