Changing password and removing encryption UI will be available soon, there's an open PR for that already.

Password option allows to encrypt the app. Biometrics doesn't encrypt the app, because biometrics are not a secure option, it is just used as a light secure layer to identify yourself.

I think you're wrong. It appears that you only get asked for the password when you're opening the wallet. But when you're sending funds, you have to scan your fingerprint. If that was a simple "screen-lock", wouldn't that be considered as a vulnerability?

If you enable biometrics in the settings and go to 'Encrypt storage' it states that storage is not encrypted. Even if you are prompted to scan your fingerprint when sending a payment, it still doesn't mean anything. It seems to be a simple lock which deters the people you give your phone to from viewing your balance and spending your coins using the app.

Reinstalling did the trick. I appreciate the help.

'Use Biometrics' option does not encrypt the wallet. It simply locks the app. Most Android phones these days have some sort of app locking feature built-in.

Do you have a backup of your wallets?
BitCryptex seems right you will need to delete and install the app to disable the encryption.
Look at this link below

I don't know if it will fix your issue if you have extra smart phone better to try it first in your extra phone put fingerprint and encrypt it with password then reinstall the app.

Let see if it can disable the password after you import the backup wallet back.

So, I originally had my wallet encrypted with my fingerprint.

I can't seem to find a way to remove (or even edit) the password?

It looks like you have to reinstall the app in order to get rid of the password protection (which is not a perfect solution). Enabling advanced mode doesn't seem to show any new options related to that problem.

So, I originally had my wallet encrypted with my fingerprint. Then, I decided to encrypt the wallet using a password (I did not disable the biometrics). That worked fine but now that I want to switch back to fingerprint scanning as it's much faster, I can't seem to find a way to remove (or even edit) the password? If I visit the "Encrypt storage" option in settings, all it allows me to do is to set fake storage.
