Yes, I don’t think it is a big deal. It would be better if it were the other way around: a fiat casino starting to accept crypto payments, but I’m not too worried.

Afaik they were fiat casino then they started to accept bitcoin and now they decided to back to fiat casino again. I heard about this casino last year when there was no deposit bonus promo but I decided not to take it as they requires KYC for withdrawal IIRC.
Maybe they do not get enough traffic from bitcoin community which is not surprising at all because bitcoin community prefer to be anonymous for gambling related activity. Indeed it is not a big thing to think about because we have some good pure bitcoin casinos already.

"Bob Casino was named with no reference to Bob Marley intended. The site content is written in a purposefully jocular manner. The site does not encourage or condone any form of substance abuse. Bob.casino is owned and operated by Direx N.V."

First - who the hell starts a site with their best idea being "Bob Casino." Then references Bob Marley as not being affiliated!?! WTF

Second - Direx owns a ton of sites in crypto and fiat. Bitstars, Mbit, CryptoWild, Loki, Das Ist Casino and BetChan

They must have problems with regulation if it's a mix of crypto and fiat, have to keep it 100% one or the other for a license like Malta whereas Curacao don't really care.

When you think you've seen or heard them all, thread like this comes along to prove how little we know outside our little bubbles. Gaming in Australia's a little thing of curiosity, isn't it? Especially when you take into account the indigenous-owned casino brands. Personally, I'm always for supporting mom and pop businesses, but the smaller casinos really don't tend to be very attractive (literally and figuratively). Doesn't say much info about why the switch from crypto to fiat but I suspect it's just an attempt to get into sync with regulations.

Everyone is saying how they have not heard about bob casino and there are bigger casinos that we don't have to worry but bob casino was a casino script provider as well, so there were a lot of websites with their scripts.

If this happened how long do you think it would take other casinos to follow and try to be "legit" in the eyes of the law as well ? I believe cryptocurrencies based casinos will never try this as they are already into a successful business model rather than trying to convince governments which will have less significant role in attracting new gamblers compared to being a brand of legal with approved license of some country.

Thankfully many of the big crypto casinos are smart enough to go open their shop on places like malta or costa rica or whatever country allows them. That way we will not have to worry about them close and only the smaller ones going away.

I'll agree with others here never heard of them till this thread came alive, now I don't even see what's the fus about this casino each one takes the license it needs to survive. Now to the question it's a script provider and others will follow, I don't think it's true people will follow maybe in their country btc is not allowed but other casinos it'll be allowed they'll make a different script for it, or keep a add on it's deemed to be understood so no need to worry.

🌀 Cosmic Casino
I've never heard of Bob Casino before, and now after checking it out I can say that they have a pretty good looking site while I can't say the same about their overall ratings. The site is getting rather mixed reviews, which can be due to either some amount of haters or some amount of mistakes they constantly make(more likely).

Well, abandoning crypto is another mistake, obviously. If you look at their PAYMENTS page right now, you can see that they accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, Litecoin and Ethereum (until August 1, 2018, I guess), and while other payment methods have fees on deposit, crypto deposits have none, which is surely attractive to gamblers.

On the other hand, if switching to the MGA license is somehow beneficial to them and if that's true that MGA Casinos will accept Crypto soon, maybe they won't lose much in the end.

Bitcoin Casino Est. 2013
It is the first time I hear about Bob Casino so I believe that their market share is a drop of rain in the ocean and nothing to be worried about. We should be happy when we will see bigger and I mean real bigger casinos like bet365 starting to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

They are a pioneer in this area of gambling and if they start doing so all their competitors will start doing the same, giving a boost to bitcoin that the bitcoin price may even arrive at 30-40 grand at the time when this happens.

This though it is more a dream than reality.

Haven't gamble there, it may not be popular for most and this isn't a big news to be alarmed of.

But if there are casino's, stores or any business that cut their ties to cryptocurrencies. Still there's some affection and impact that make us feel sad.

Their stats shows that they have good number of gamblers.

Just got this...

Please note that the Bob Casino brand will switch to the MGA license starting from August 1, 2018. In light of that, Bob Casino will no longer be accepting deposits in cryptocurrencies or Australian dollars, or players from Australia...

OK Bob was not one of the BIG casinos with crypto payments, but still a petty to see..

However, its just a matter of time before all MGA Casinos will accept Crypto, The MGA Crew working on it
