great if you really manage to offer the service by world cup time
is there any future plans to list horse racing as well or will you stick to the traditional sports only ?

Hey SyGambler:

Our plan is to stick to traditional sports, starting with the World Cup.

However, we hope to continue to expand our offering over time.

oh ok , anyways hope that you will consider adding it since it may make the site more unique cause there are no much options to bet on horses with bitcoin so adding it to your site will both help you and help the gambling community

I am also looking for horse racing.By the way time ago Bookie was featured in Racing Post article like a example of honest betting
I dont have that article stored

The site looks clean but I think there's lots of work yet to do, as the app is coming in 2019. Also you say you work like a stock exchange so the person betting has to first deposit money and all his details is out in the public or it's post the bet one needs to deposit? What kind of % are you charging users? Also what do you mean by no one owns bookies you'll need to give few payment proof first.

hey Juggy777. The Bookie app goes into public beta in 2018, in time for the World Cup. (not 2019!)

Yes, you need to have money in your account before placing a bet, just the same as all sports betting. Bookie will definitely NOT share user details in public - because Bookie does not store ANY personal data! There is no KYC, all accounts are anonymous. Sign-up takes 10 seconds to complete... choose a user name, save your password - done.

Betting exchanges charge a commission on winning bets - Bookie commission hasn't been finalized yet, but will be much lower than Betfair's 5%. You can read more about how Bookie commission works on our recent AMA:

When we say that no one owns Bookie, it means that Bookie is a fully decentralized sports betting exchange - it is built on top of the Peeprlays blockchain. Who owns a public blockchain? No one.

But you are 100% correct - Bookie needs to prove to all you bettors out there that it is trustworthy, secure and FAIR. That's why we're sponsoring real BTC prizes on the public beta - to show everyone how Bookie works. We hope you come and check it out during World Cup 2018.

Thanks very honest answer

Kick off for Bookie Public Beta ahead of World Cup: https://www.peerplays.com/kick-off-bookie-public-beta-ahead-world-cup/

Is it only world cup or are you also having NBA to bet on your platform? Because most of the public bettors will include NBA as part of their betting lists. And what other sports does your platform supporting?

Hi Ranly123,

At launch, BookiePro will have betting on World Cup matches. With the NBA and NHL Finals already underway, they should both be complete by the time the World Cup begins on the 14th. Should any sport or league be added to BookiePro, we will of course let everyone know! On that note, we recommend signing up for the BookiePro newsletter to make sure you're the first to know when the app launches - and all future news afterwards.

Thanks!

A decentralized betting exchange without robbery-like fees will be so cool to have. Hopefully that day will be here soon and we can find the liquidity as well.

Hi Topy,

The day is fast approaching. The play-money version of BookiePro (launching prior to World Cup) will have only 1% commission on all net winnings!

@bookieapps. This is confusing. Users will have to use a faucet to get tokens to beta test your service? Why not give the testers the tokens? It would be easier for everyone hehehe.

Also, my question really was if your service was fully operational, will it use only PPY tokens or not?

Hey @bbc.reporter! Sorry for the confusion.

>>Why not give the testers the tokens? It would be easier for everyone hehehe.

You are right, that is easiest for everyone. And that is what we are going to do!
When users make a new account on the Bookie Beta app, they will get play tokens deposited straight into the account. (The technology that puts the tokens in the user account is called a 'faucet' ... but users will not have to go somewhere else to get tokens).

>>Also, my question really was if your service was fully operational, will it use
>>only PPY tokens or not?

Bookie will NEVER use PPY tokens as a betting currency.
(PPY tokens are the native token of the Peerplays blockchain. They will not be used for betting on the Bookie app).

What cryptocoin will people be using if they make bets on your platform? Not PPY tokens I hope. Converting our bitcoins to hold PPY would not be suitable for bitcoin gamblers.

Also, I see a front page but I do not see any login boxes or registration buttons. How do we beta test it?

hi bbc.reporter

PPY tokens will NOT be used for betting on Bookie (good question!).

For the Bookie Public Beta, users will bet with play tokens, which they will receive from a faucet on sign-up.

We get what bitcoin gamblers need -  check out this answer from our recent AMA, should be interesting for all bitcoin gamblers out there:

Bookie Public Beta has not started yet, it will be ready by early June, in time for WC 2018. It will be a downloadable app, not web-based. We hope you'll join us in the public beta, with some really nice BTC prizes up for grabs in a whole range of different betting competitions.

- This is more like a peer-to-peer betting chain without a bookie.Traditionally, most of the sports-betting websites are a bookie themselves linked to a chain of bookies. When you say your platform is decentralised,do you mean all your chains are completely free to create their own odds ?

- Website says anonymous betting but requires me to sign up to use the service. This is a turn down.

hi Patatas.
When we say that Bookie is decentralized, we mean that it is built on a blockchain. There are no centralized servers, no 'house', no single company behind this. Just like Bitcoin is a decentralized currency, and Ethereum is a decentralized computer, Bookie is a decentralized betting exchange.

And, yes, a betting exchnage allows users to create their own odds. It is true P2P betting.

So Bookie is P2P betting on a blockchain =)

>>Website says anonymous betting but requires me to
>>sign up to use the service. This is a turn down.

The sign-up is just to receive email newsletters, so we can let you know more details about the BTC competitions and when the public beta goes live. But when you download the Bookie app (soon!), it will be a completely anonymous sign-up - no email, no personal details - just choose a username and start betting.

Bookie, the decentralized sports betting exchange built on the Peerplays blockchain, will go live with a play-for-fun public beta ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

Bookie Public Beta will offer users the opportunity to win real bitcoin prizes as they take part in a series of betting competitions and leaderboards using play money.

Running throughout the World Cup, the public beta is the final phase in Bookie’s development, after which it will be ready for full deployment on the Peerplays blockchain. Bookie Public Beta will be the first ever public showcase of provably fair sports betting. Competition rules and bitcoin prize information will also be made available here over the coming weeks.

Bookie Public Beta will be open to all, and will look to educate the entire betting community - including punters, operators and regulators - about the benefits of blockchain for sports bettors.

The decentralized nature of Bookie means a full launch requires a majority approval by the Witnesses who run the Peerplays blockchain.

For more updates, follow us:

   Steemit - @BookieApp
   subReddit - /r/OfficialBookie
