I wonder if what will you get in launching a daily faucet though most of the faucets are just a complete waste of time as we can only earn like few cents daily and it's takes a few months before we can hit the minimum payouts.

I think it's a really risky move and judging by the comments so do other people. This has not been well explained the OP doesn't do anything to make anyone want to vouch for his trust. The title here is so misleading I came here thinking I will get a bet of probably 10k satoshi or so since its free and I get to try out the site with those 10ksatoshi on any one bet free. I see it is not that simple.

A little postmortem on the outage- the core team was away for the weekend and we had a CPU spike that caused our host to shut down a critical server. We were able to bring the server back up, but then the host was hit with a DDOS that they are still trying to recover from, so we decided to switch to a more reliable (and expensive) host. Thanks for your patience! As a token of appreciation, everyone who placed a bet using their own money has received an additional 10% bonus of the bets they placed this weekend, win or lose.

I can tell you from experience, that you will only receive a notification if your bet is a win. Loses and pushes won't generate any response from the bot. Also, the processing of wagers can sometimes take a little while, although it has been improving... so sometimes it may take an hour or 2 before you get your winnings. You can still see the "/pending" bets, so don't worry if it takes a while, your win will be paid out

I never type chat commands... on Android you just tap the "/" icon, or the "/" codes in the responses from the Bot. The only thing I ever have to type in, is my bet amount.

Also, I mostly bet on Soccer... and they've added "Draw" odds to the MoneyLine options, so you can use online calculators to calculate "Draw no bet" and "Double Chance" options if you want... I like to use the one here

Hopefully, they might add other options like Both Teams to Score... or exact score or halftime/fulltime options or whatever... but to be honest, the MoneyLine, Spread and Totals Bets are usually enough for me.

Glad that you liked this type of betting @Avirunes. Parlays are a much-requested feature and we are indeed working on it. As far as the max, we started with small limits since we're in beta. However, we haven't had anyone actually place a max bet yet, at which point we will raise the limits. Perhaps you'd like to be the first?

This type of betting was somewhat kind a new and I really loved it. However there is something which is missing like allowing parlay bets which most of the sports betters love to play with nowadays. So will you be adding it?

Also trusting huge bets wouldn't be a good option but increasing the max bet slightly will be better IMO.

Never used telegram before and just installed it telegram just for the curiosity to try your service.

Pretty nice system have to say, am completely new to this kind of thing: already claimed your faucet and made a bet ( waterpolo:  brasil vs Serbia, Spread Serbia -3.5  ftw   ).

Curious to see what message I will receive ( if  I will) at the end of the match.

Only minus is the low choice of odds in every event I "browsed"  and the annoying fact that I have to turn CAP LOCK on every time I need to type chat commands (any chance system will be turnoed in not case sensitive?)  but beside this good impression so far.

I have to disagree. The system is incredibly easy to use, is "lightweight" and doesn't involve trying to navigate websites designed for viewing on 24" monitors and large amounts of javascript etc. on a tiny 5" phone screen.

You use simple commands that you can just "tap" on for the most part... tap on the "/" icon in Telegram, it brings up the option menu, then you just follow your nose "/sports"... then select the "/" code for the sport you want, and continue all the way through the various sub options for each sport until you find the game/betting option you want... Then enter the amount you want to bet, they even have "/" codes for 10%, 25%, 50%, 100% of bankroll quick bets... it'll give you the confirmation screen and you tap "place bet" and you're done.

They have a chat group on Telegram as well for support and are very responsive and pro-active... they even advised the other day when there was an issue with payout processing BEFORE I'd noticed there was an issue. And, as an added bonus, they've just added a "/faucet" command, which effectively gives you a "free bet" every day by crediting you a "minimum bet" amount to your account!

I'm loving this system... it's great.

You're right about the double-spend exploit- that's one of the reasons for our conservative bet closing time of two hours before the event starts. In my experience the vast majority of legitimate transactions confirm within an hour. If your transaction didn't confirm you wouldn't be able to withdraw and you'd have to contact us to deal with on a case-by-case basis (no cases yet).

It would be good to have an explicit policy regarding confirmation and event start time. Thanks for pointing it out, will get back to you.

You're not kidding. I pressed send in Mycelium... and about 1 second later got a Telegram notification from the BookieBig bot!!?!   I tested it out and have placed a couple more bets and they went through fine, even with 0 confirmations. Fingers crossed I can get a little payout so I can test withdrawl ...

On the subject of 0 confirmation betting, I would like to ask what happens if the transaction isn't confirmed by game time?? Will the bet stand and I'll get paid out if it wins (after the transaction confirms obviously) or will the bet simply be voided and the stake will eventually be returned to my balance?

I remember reading in another thread that sportsbooks offering 0 confirmation betting were opening themselves up to some sort of "double spend exploit", whereby a player could somehow double spend the coins used in a losing bet and send them back to themselves or something I guess... I believe this may have been related to the sportsbooks policy on how to treat bets where the funds were unconfirmed at time of even starting. So, if the bet was voided, it wouldn't matter... but if they let the bet stand, then "Bad things™" could happen... 

I realize that it was dumb now that it is over, but I am new to sports betting   It was using the American system before when I bet and all I saw was a high number (like 1,xxx) for the person I bet on and a really low negative number for the other person (like -1,xxx) so I figured the "high number" would be better.  Obviously I had it completely opposite   You live and you learn!

Speaking of, @bittysmalls... are you guys planning on offering other betting options? Like "Both Team To Score"... half time... or creating parlays etc? Despite my terrible betting skills (think I'm currently about 3 wins, 3 losses, 1 push )... I am quite enjoying the Bot Just wish the payouts settling of bets was a bit quicker is all... Well I lost my first bet, but I really like the app!  I didn't understand quite what I was doing.  I thought I was betting on the better odds, but I realized after I made the bet, that I bet on pretty slim odds.  Oh well, I learned something new.  I plan to use this bot more, it makes sports betting much easier for me.  Thanks for the "faucet money" to make a bet!

@DarkStar's absolutely right, the quarter-point spread values are typically used for asian handicap. Unfortunately we don't support asian handicap yet so any bet on 0.25 or 0.75 spreads would resolve as if it were 0.5.  Will change the spread display soon to match policy.

I'm not familiar with the Asian Handicap system. I've seen it mentioned a few times, but most of the services I have used have generally focused on what is being referred to as "Moneyline" options or standard spread betting with whole/half decimals (and other little side bets like first scorer etc)

Having gone away and done exactly what you suggested (yay for Google), I am now a lot more conversant with Asian Handicap... seems like a nice option having those 0.25s and .75s to offer you some cover for tight games that are likely to be a 1 point win or draw.

@bittysmalls, so are your 0.25s and 0.75s actual Asian Handicap odds and will payout appropriately?

No. I'm assuming you are agreeing with HCP's post about how it makes no difference. It does. Betting on a 0.25 handicap means half your money is placed on +0, and half on +0.5. A 0.75 handicap means half your money is on +0.5, and half on +1. Here is an example, in case it confused you:
Team A vs Team B
I take Team A +0.25 @2 (+100 American odds) with 1 BTC. If Team A ties the match, half my money is refunded, and the other half counted as won. My profit is 0.5 BTC. If Team A wins, than my profit is 1 BTC. If Team A loses, than I lose everything. A 0.75 handicap works in the same way, except with +0.5 and +1. If team B wins by 1 point, half my money is lost and half is refunded (a push). If they draw or Team A wins, both are won and I profit 1 BTC. Negative handicaps work in the same way.

That is because most sportsbooks follow the rules of Points Spread betting, and don't use a system that no one else uses.

All they have to do is call it an Asian Handicap, then people will understand if they are familiar with betting terminology, or google it and find out.

Ahhhh I suspected that there would be a reason for it... and I thought it might be to show that, in the opinion of the bookie it was going to be a tight result... or they felt that the team was almost good enough for a whole other point. Nice feature that I haven't actually seen in most sportsbooks.

Still, it might be worth adding a /FAQ or /help command to the bot, to explain your house rules for such things... I know some sportsbooks will count a draw on a spread bet as a loss...  So it would be a good idea to point out that you guys are awesome and count it as a push

A non-0.5 spread actually gives more information - for example a change from 0.25 to 0.75 means the odds are shifting slightly higher. We could hide it if you'd like

For a spread bet, if it's a draw after applying the spread, @BookieBig counts it as a push. So in your example if the score was 2-1 to Aberdeen you'd get your money back for a spread bet on Aberdeen -1. However, for moneyline bets a draw would count as a loss for the punter.

Ok, so a couple more things that I have noticed and think might be helpful for others:

I realise it really makes no difference to the result as such... as regardless of the decimal value used, it still achieves the same result... preventing a "tie" bet... I'm just used to seeing 0.5 increments

Speaking of "tie" bets... I noticed that there have been some "even" spreads... like the Aberdeen one was


If the score had been 2-1 to Aberdeen, resulting in the spread score being 1-1 if you took the Aberdeen option... what would the result of the bet be? ie. what is @BookieBig's policy on "tie" bets for "even" spreads? Is it a loss for the punter or a no result, funds returned type deal?

I just checked the database and you can rest assured that your bet was for Aberdeen. I can't seem to view your screenshot so I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but my guess is that it's the formatting causing you to interpret it incorrectly, or at worst a display bug with the bot. At any rate thanks for reporting and if you could re-upload the screenshot I'll have another look.

I have run across a small issue with the bot...



As you can see from the screenshot, I selected and then placed a 0.0015 bet on a Moneyline for one team (Aberdeen @ -230)... but now when I look at my pending bets, it says it is for the other team (Ventspils @ 675!!?!)  

You might want to double check your code... and cancel my bet!

Yeah, I was reading about how the US odds system works... man, those americans like to complicate stuff! Seriously... what is so difficult about odds of 1.09 etc? I put in 10... I get 10x1.09 back... EASY... it's like feet, inches, yards and miles... hahaha

Personally, I think I would prefer a preferences menu that would let me customise which way to display the odds... But then, I'm not your coder...  (Big shout out to your dev team, what you've come up with so far is actually pretty intuitive and easy... and I've been there and faced the "But it's only a checkbox... how hard can it be to add it in?" type requests before )

Congrats on the win! You should see your payout now. We're working on a system to resolve wagers automatically, but for now we're resolving manually. So give it a 24-hour window or so to pay out.

Good call about the display system. Does anyone else here prefer those formats?  If so I'll add it to the task list.

To answer your question, wagering 210 to win 100 is a proportion too. You'd flip it to find your profit for wagering $10.
$10 * 100/210 ~= $4.76 profit

Anyways, it's a lot of mental conversion if you're used to seeing it a certain way. Two ideas: 1. you could enter different amounts and the bot calculate for you how much you stand to win 2. like you suggested, we could have a preferences menu where you can customize your display.

Well I placed my first bet with this bot yesterday.  I bet on a boxing match that is going to take place in a couple of days.  It was pretty easy to navigate the menus and place my bet.  I really liked it actually, I will probably use it again.  It's a lot easy for me than navigating complex sports betting websites.  I'm looking forward to seeing if I win in a couple days.  Thanks again for the faucet money to play with!

Couple of things... how long does a payout on a bet usually take? I put a bet on last night for an event that was due to run this morning... When I do /pending, I get:

Liverpool won 5-0... (I knew I should have taken the -1 spread or the over 2.5! hahah )

Also, would there be a way to customise the way the odds are displayed? I'm not terribly familiar with this system (I believe it is the US system)... so seeing a value of -210 means pretty much nothing to me... I believe it means I would need to wager 210 to get back 100... but I've no idea how much I'll get back if I wager like $10...

I'm more used to the decimal/European (ie. 1.09) or fractional/UK (ie. 4/1) type odds display.

Trust is always a issue with new sites (not just new ways to bet) I personally think the idea is cool and innovative.  I do think you need to work
out a way to explain it easier and streamline it. Seems confusing and to many steps to get a large mass of people to adopt it. I do think its a
cool idea and wish you luck with the project.

Telegram is multi-platform. Has Android, iOS, Windows, MacOS, Linux and a web client... hell it even has WindowsPhone which is usually ignored by everybody! To be honest, this comment is almost the same as saying "You must use a web browser" as a reason not to use a service. 

I do agree that there is an implied level of trust here. That they will not run off with your money and will pay out. But this is also true of pretty much all online casino/sportsbooks. Just because it doesn't have the $$$ to spend on fancy websites, doesn't mean it is a scam. Hell, look at HashOcean... that had a plenty fancy website... that disappeared overnight with millions of dollars worth of bitcoins!

How to get around this? Play small... Only deposit when you wish to make a bet... don't hold large amounts of bitcoins in the service for extended periods of time... you know, all the common sense stuff you do with any 3rd party service that you are trusting with your precious BTC

Must have some BTC is also a relatively valid, but I'd say minor, concern. I guess for a lot of people, not being able to put funds in from fiat services like credit cards, Paypal etc would be problematic. But there are plenty of other services online that allow you to buy bitcoins using fiat, which you could use to purchase your bitcoins and transfer them over... so I don't see it as being a HUGE issue...

Aside from using Telegram, the situation is similar for any sportsbook. Suggestions are definitely welcome if I'm mistaken.

As we become established, you'll be able to see any complaints on this thread. We're running an balanced book meaning we only profit from a small commission- the book doesn't stand to win or lose large amounts if one particular side wins.

We're based on the Telegram platform, which is fairly mature and as far as I know has had no major breaches. We also practice industry standards for handling bitcoins, e.g. strong passwords, secure server setup and storing funds offline in cold wallets.

This is a innovated way to bet on sports.
I just don't know if I can trust it though.

panjul07, I agree it's not for everyone. If you have a favorite sportsbook site by all means continue using it. After testing out many sportsbooks, I found many of them to be overly complicated, while betting over chat was simpler while being just as powerful. There's a lot of room for improvement though and we're working to add new things every day based on your suggestions on this thread.

A new way to bet on sports but seems to be complicated enough in order to make a bet. Perhaps because it is a new concept, but I think people will prefer to use a regular way of sportsbetting that is bet on the site instead of using a bot on telegram app.

I have some questions if you don't mind, because it isn't exactly spelled out (something you might consider adding to your website)... I would be effectively depositing bitcoins into an address controlled by BookieBig, and relying on you to be honest and return them to an address of my choosing should I "/withdraw" my funds... is that correct?

Also... you might like to put up some sort of proof that you can pay out on bets. Like a signed message from an account that has a suitable amount of BTC in it to cover pay outs etc. Also, I understand that you have a Telegram account and all, but there doesn't seem to be any other contact information or details about your company/service.
