Those tips on above works good but what I always do when I found a site or a thread in bitcointalk I always bookmarked the site and can easily access the site whenever I wanted to instead of searching for it as there is a possibility you will forgot about it. Browsers have a feature to bookmark the any site so can use it anytime or not it's up to you. You even mentioned it on the title too.

I never got into using the watchlist function on bitcointalk, because I always thought it was much easier to just have a bookmark for a thread I wanted to follow.
I find the Watchlist feature very useful when it comes to following new posts in my own threads. If there is a new post, your thread will be bumped to page 1 of your watchlist. Just a simple "CLRL + F Pmalek" will highlight all your threads that contain new posts. That's the usual way I stay informed when someone posts in my threads.

You can always add a link to a thread to your browsers bookmarks/favorites. There isn’t normally a reason to need to go back to a thread after you have visited it if there aren’t any new posts posted.
Funny you should say that--I just bookmarked DdmrDdmr's "ranking up pipeline" thread so I can easily go back to it as a reference and not have to wait for it to get bumped ('cause I might just miss it when it does).  And a couple of years ago when I was more interested in merit statistics I had that page that lists the most generous merit-giving members and so forth bookmarked.  I don't even know how to access that one anymore, but my point is that it's easy enough to bookmark threads and put them in their own folder if there's enough of them and you want to keep organized.

I never got into using the watchlist function on bitcointalk, because I always thought it was much easier to just have a bookmark for a thread I wanted to follow.  To each his own, however.

I think the bookmark option will be good instead of to watch as some thread is useful to get back to
You have multiple choices
  • Bookmark topics in your web browsers (@QuickSeller mentioned it)
  • Save topics in your own documents such as Excel sheets or Google sheets.
  • Watch button on the forum (see the first attached screenshot)
  • Edit your Watchlist (see the second screenshot)
  • You can use notification option if you want (Notify button)
