Ha Ha Ha,

I don't have anywhere near that much to be able to loan you. But if you wanted to invest in me however, I could then re-invest in you.  Tongue lol

I like your boldness and sincerity. Actually, that is a big amount to most of us (not you) and someone lending you to get back the coins next year is almost impossible. If it could be something like one month or two, then it could be easy to transact.

Someone should define what "Long-term" is for this sub-board.

Maybe > 1 month might be ok from a start point of view.

I have not an " obscene"  amount to send you, but I would easly trust you for all my btc. The real matter is: why locking my money for a whole year for a (nearly) 100% chanche of ROI+0% ?

That make no sense to me...

Sorry, this really doesn't make much sense to most people. But hey, we can shorten the time to a day. Just don't send me less than a whole coin, otherwise I will be forced to use a transaction fee. (If it's more than 1 BTC, it will eventually confirm, even with no tx fee.)

That's not like we are all bitcoin millionaires  Tongue

I indeed have a whole coin, but it's in cold storage and i'm not willing to touch it for those joke. If you don't  feel too bad about spending one cent in fees I can cover mine, just for jour lulz, and send 0.5 btc (actually, the biggest sum i've never trusted anybody for) to your address

With trusted people, with legit dox exiting the forum for 10 +- BTC, this is not particularly good practice.

(1) The account could be hacked, sold or all the usual excuses could be brought into play.
(2) 500 BTC is a lot of money and easily enough to disappear forever, so the "you know where I live" argument isn't valid.
(3) Assuming this is just a bit of fun/a joke, for someone who I've seen with very good intentions on this forum [and for which I do give you credit], its really not a very well thought-out post. At the very least it will encourage other scammers who actually are corrupt to try this kind of thing and run with the funds. It will encourage thoughtless over the internet handing over of BTC, which is in most cases how people here get burnt.

1. Not likely. I'd say, extremely not likely. It's possible, yes, but I say the odds are almost negligible. I am biased, since I'm the one talking here. What could happen is I get hit by the proverbial bus, but then, that's a really bad situation for me I'd rather not be in.

2. 500 BTC, right now, is only 200,000.00 USD (two hundred thousand US dollars). I can't even buy a decent house with that money. Where would I go with that money? (With a small family of two toddlers.) It's not high enough for me. Actually, I dare say, no amount is high enough for me to even think of trying something. There are some things in this world that can't be bought with any amount of money, or bitcoins.

3. Yes, maybe, not a very well thought out post. I'm not encouraging scammers, and the only scammers who would be encouraged are other "Trusted" or "Hero" or "Legendary" members.

I'll let this thread die if no one responds. Go about your business. Nothing here. Just some bored bitcoiner. Smiley

Minimum of 1 day or 144 blocks, just so I can send it back to you with no fee (and it will eventually confirm due to the priority.)

Why? I can't afford to borrow and use that amount and then pay you back with interest. So I'm going to borrow it, let it sit there, and send it back with no interest.
Regardless of if this is a scam or not (I am not saying that it is), there is a non-zero chance that any potential lender will not receive their BTC back. Even if you are not going to scam, it is possible that you would get hit by a bus, then a tsunami hits where you live destroying all your backups (among other very low probability scenarios). However in return for these (low) risks, the lender gets nothing in return, and as a result I don't think this would be a good deal for a lender.

On the other hand, if there was some reason why someone needed someone to hold a few hundred BTC for a day then they may benefit from this deal.....assuming of course they believe they can trust you with such an amount.

Hi Quickseller,

For some reason, I was expecting you to reply here (or maybe one of the other "scam busters"). But for all the things you just mentioned, it's really really bad for me if I get hit by a bus. It's bad enough the lender won't get his money back, but I think, it's just really bad for me to be dead.

I do have a dead man's switch (which has never triggered) that I used to use on my other stuff, like the lotto I ran a few years ago.

But thank you for being polite. Smiley I appreciate it. I'm half expecting the next reply (from someone else) is going to be a direct insult already, and I am prepared for that.

Again, I would just like to say, I'm not going to scam you, and I'll try to work something out before you send the coins, to make sure someone else will send it back to you, or actually, to just simply set my switch to email you the private key so you can redeem it yourself, in case I'm dead. I think a couple of days beyond the agreed deadline is reasonable.

Now, of course, this dead man's switch might just get hit by "the internet bus" and go offline, that wouldn't be my fault. I do have a google account with "inactive" account manager, that acts as a dead man's switch, but the earliest it will send an email is 3 months from the time I get hit by a bus. I don't think google is going to get offline anytime soon.

Hi,

I'm bored. I've been reading all these loan threads, and ... I just thought I'd put up my own. And I realize this may not be the best place to post this, but I figure this is bitcointalk, and ... I think I want to have some fun.

Here's what I'm going to do with whatever you send me.

Nothing. Really. I'll bounce it around a couple of addresses. Then send it back to you.

But this thread is in the "Long-term offers" forum, so, let's make it a long-term loan. How long is long? Maybe a month? Two? An entire year?

Minimum of 1 day or 144 blocks, just so I can send it back to you with no fee (and it will eventually confirm due to the priority.)

Why? I can't afford to borrow and use that amount and then pay you back with interest. So I'm going to borrow it, let it sit there, and send it back with no interest. I don't want to use your money in some investment idea because I'm afraid it won't work.

No, I'm not going to scam you. I've handled some big amounts before of other people. (That's what I do, in case you don't know me; escrow; payroll of a small company; cash withdrawals and deposits.)

By the way, this is serious. Also, this is public. Finally, I'm not really anonymous, so I'm not going to try anything funny. I just want to hold your gold bar, and hand it back to you after looking at it.

Details:

1. Send it from an address you control; OR
2. Sign a message and PM to me (you may GPG encrypt it) where you eventually want the coins to go to after I'm done bouncing it around.

People might start thinking, this Dabs guy is crazy. But you keep forgetting that I have a lot to lose. Several people here know who I am, know where I live, (and those same people also know I'm not easy to actually get to, and I sometimes live in a military base, so ...) And reputation like that one I have is priceless, so why would I do that for such a low amount (yes, I'm saying that 500 BTC is low for me to try and disappear.)

The other thing, is I just want to read the reactions of the people here. I've tried to do a relatively big loan before, that didn't go anywhere. (I eventually got a loan from a fiat bank, but that's another story.)

Another is I'm simply testing my bitcointalk credit rating. How much is someone willing to send to me, knowing it will go back. Of course, I'm asking you to trust me, and I'm hoping someone who has the money and the balls does.

P.S. If you send it today, I will return your coins next year. (As in, January 2016, hehe.) Happy New Year!
