I thought that ZCash was basically a pump and dump scheme... It will die sometime soon.

All coins should be labeling as scam first until it proved, ZCash shouldn't be different. The different in this coinmarketcap is hype

They have an experienced developer with a not so good history, but since this is an ambitious project we'll see how this things turn out I'm sure the developer has learn a lot from the past and from the existing technology.this may turn to be a good project.who knows..

Nothing was more hyped than ETH...
And the trade of the year in 2016 was buying ETH Jan 1 at $0.80 and riding it 1000% or more.

ZCash structure sounds a lot like ETH (good, not bad)...
But don't overpay on the initial pump... CPU mine it and be patient.

Anon coins will never have the resources to challenge Bitcoin = you need real world infrastructure.

There is also the issue of scalability which the bitcoin core developers has not found a solution to. I do not know the situation with zcash but I have heard comments that CT that Monero is using is hard to scale according to some known people in bitcoin. Also where did they get that valuation per coin of zcash? $15 per coin for a project you do not even know will be a success. That is too much. Only stupid people will bid close to that price. Bid $1.00, nothing more.

XMR (Monero) is much better value than ZCash...

I don't know when the market will realize it, but when it does, XMR will pop up hard. But it might be from a much lower price than now

There is nothing decentralized about Zcash....It is 100% owned and copyrighted by a private company.....No thanks, I'll pass.
Which company own it? IS there any official site for this coin to read authentic info about it?

zcash COULD be good but honestly it's already over hyped and will be sold WAY to overpriced when it's out.  not to mention it'll just be manipulated like crazy by the biggest holders.

my intention is to stay out of this coin. if it will be something as useful as bitcoin in some years then i will buy and use it. but i really hope that i won't take part in this money-making-game.

despite the claims, I don't think very many people here care about decentralization especially if there's a pump on the horizon. it'll do well, plenty of people are gonna make money, it's ultimately going nowhere like almost every other alt.

It may not live up to expectations because none will if you compare it to the success that bitcoin has achieved. Not Ethereum, Monero or whatever coin you can think will surpass bitcoin as of this moment. It has set a very high bar up for the others to try to reach but no cryptocoin can claim to have any success in reaching 50% of it. They can say it but it will only be hype. Why? Because it is just not true.

ZCash, a new Zooko Wilcox project, has impressive list of investors and advisers, but will the new cryptocurrency pass the reality check of decentralisation and anonymity?

Genesis block’s launch is near

October 28 may see the launch of the genesis block of ZCash - a new cryptocurrency from the same name project led by Zooko Wilcox. The project causes great interest: without being a genuine market player yet, the company has become a part of Digital Currency Group; the buzz around ZCash is really huge, and the currency itself was valued even before the actual release. On the surface it seems that nothing can go wrong; however, there are few things that might compromise the success of the ZCash project.
