I was trying to deposit some IOST to binance and this appeared ''Both a MEMO and an Address are required to successfully deposit your IOST to Binance'' I never had that before, I was trying to send from MEW but I don't know what the heck it means.

Memo, Destination tag are the unique combination of numbers associated with each transaction. Few exchanges keep reusing the deposit address for different users due to a unique number combinations is associated with each transaction to identify the transaction. Some exchanges do revert back the funds to your wallet if you can just provide some basic proof that the funds were transferred by you.

Astargath, there should be some number on MEW or in Binance which is connected with deposit address, and UserU is mentioned EOS as example. Some users have same problem to deposit EOS on Binance, they are asking Memo&Address, and when they click in deposit button they get deposit address and 10 digit number. That number should be copied in Memo field to deposit work.

This is just example for EOS, but maybe it is same or similar for IOST. To be sure that it is working, try with small deposit amount first.

I'm using www.myetherwallet.com because IOST is a token so no I don't believe so.

I saw some similar case with EOS as it had its own memo too, and that's because EOS was deployed on their mainnet, away from the ERC-20 (ETH token). I don't own IOST, but that could be the main reason.

How about downloading an IOST wallet, transferring them from MEW to it, followed by withdrawing to Binance?

EDIT: Binance just recently announced their support for the mainnet token swap
Quote
Binance would like to confirm support for the IOST mainnet token swap and will suspend withdrawals for IOST starting from 2019/03/08 0:00 AM (UTC). Binance will handle all technical requirements involved for all users holding IOST in their Binance accounts.

Please note that even after the IOST mainnet is online, if you choose to deposit ERC20 IOST tokens into your Binance account, we will continue to process the token swap for you.

We will make a separate announcement after the mainnet swap is complete to notify users when withdrawals for IOST (native coin) will open.

For further information, please refer to the official announcement here:

Thanks for your support!

Does the wallet have any memo thingy or an extra string of verification code?

AFAIK, XLM has a mandatory memo whenever one needs to withdraw or deposit.
