I always use a sheet with Electrum and almost never use the receive button.

Why would I address get set to freeze unless I do that?
most probably you misclicked the option and it froze that address by accident.

And when you guys select an address for reception do you just select the one in the receive box or should I take another step?
the receive tab is to make things easier and avoid causing confusing for new users. it also automatically avoids address reuse by giving you an unused address from your wallet to receive coins in.
if you want to have full control yourself then you can enable the address tab and then select any address you want. add labels to them to know where you used them and things like that.

Try making your tx again but click on the “Max” button to choose send everything you have. Then, click “Preview” and see how much you’re paying in fees, and which inputs and outputs your tx has.

See if the amount you received early this morning shows up on the “inputs” section.

Ok it is not showing up in inputs.
So I look in the Addresses folder... Oh no I see the address is still blue and I then OMG!! the address is frozen. So I select unfreeze. Problem solved?Huh

I can now max out send. Why would I address get set to freeze unless I do that? I do not remember ever doing that. When I receive my btc I just copy the address that is in the receive box. Never been a problem before.
I only froze one address once before for a multi-sig transaction but have not used that address since.
So not sure how this happened unless I accidentally froze that address and did not realize it OR could there be some other reason?

And when you guys select an address for reception do you just select the one in the receive box or should I take another step?

So over last 2 (1.6 about) years this is a first time this has happened.

Thank you. This helped me find it. I thought I had looked at everything. I will always check my address I use to make sure it is not frozen.

At this point I would love some help and tech support and will if necessary pay for it.
I want to go step by step..

first verify I am using the correct Electrum  - what are the steps?

then second what should I do?

I want to securely make sure I have this coin. Once I do that I will feel some relief in fixing the send problem.

I am no up on reading alot about Electrum but I read enough on this board to know there has been quite a bit a fraud with from bad people stealing btc various ways including using fake Electrum or somehow getting access to their legit wallet on a legit Electrum

If the group or those knowledgeable about Electrum tell me what they would do first and go from there.

Thank you very much.

How many confirmations?

17, so its fully confirmed and I can usually send out my max amount from incoming btc even before fully confirmed.
Let me clarify since I might of been vague in my op: IN the Send box on amount it will not let me add more that $80 worth of btc which is what I had in there previously

Maybe something wrong with the currency USD and the price source? Try to type in satoshis/btc instead of USD.

I was just saying the amount in usd.. I thought the only currency you could use was btc.
Also to answer other poster it will let me put lesser amounts in. I can put larger amounts in but says I do not have fund to send.
I am going to just use fake numbers but lets say
I had .009 of BTC in my wallet.
Let say I bought .080 btc on coinbase. I transferred as I always to wallet after fees .075 btc to wallet. It shows full amount of .0759 btc fully confirmed in my wallet and no transactions since.
But it will only let me transfer or correctly worded SEND up (but less) .009 and I can adjust fee. If I set fee to auto it still is only up to .009
Anyway would it be insecure of me to post screen shots of my history page and my send page. I want to show everyone what I am talking about now but not my history of where every btc Ive received and sent has gone.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
I assume that you have correct and verified electrum. Have you tried to send using the wallet you installed before?
Have you tried to send lesser value than worth 80$? This might be some wallet issue or its just that you dont have enough amount to send with $80?

This morning I bought some btc. I transferred it to my Electrum wallet. The transaction went through and was confirmed and shows currently in my wallet. But when I went to send some out it would not let me send any more than I previously had. It has never done this before. I am very sure after reading on here I am using a correct Electrum download and sig verified so I do not think I am using a bad or phished Electrum (or whatever it is called). The BTC show in my wallet but it wont let me send it out.
I will post extra information if that would be helpful just let me know what I should post (without compromising my security)
Thank you.
