CLOSED, MALICERED COLLECTED THIS BOUNTY.

it knew what it was as soon as I saw my CPU Temp

2 of my 4 connecters that hold my heatsync to mobo were not connected

i cleaned my pc 2 weeks ago and it was gunky as fuck and i found it really hard to clip all sides in

no thermal paste needed and now idling at 59 degrees, is that bad?Huh

https://blockchain.info/tx-index/5336f36508ca73e89763f9cc29e46cba43c858c14fe03b8c7eeab490daa8dee3

I had the same issue. Wasn't software related at all.

http://imgur.com/a/uyP5R

Let me know if that was infact the issue.

Edit: There's a large chance that your CPU is bottlenecking because of high heat. Your GPU only does so much.

Check your computer components. Make sure that you check the CPU fan, and in between where the fan makes contact with the heatsink. Ensure that it is all clean.

Even if your CPU is running at 70 degress, it will impact your performance greatly. For an i7, you should be idling at around 30-40 and 50-60 degrees when running games.

Once your cpu cooling is working normally, you will notice a 3x performance increase in everything. It'll feel like getting a new computer all over again.

Let me know if that was infact the issue.

my cpu is running at 90 degrees idling

think this could be the problem.

I only cleaned my pc last week but maybe i need more thermal paste or something
90 degrees Idling? This is infact the issue.

Really get inside your cpu and apply a new coat of thermal paste. Remember to do it properly. There's a ton of guides on how to apply thermal paste correctly. Using a decent 'Pea' application to ensure you get the best even coverage. But before that, take apart your cpu heat sink. You want to dismount the Fan from the aluminium heatsink to make sure it is clear of all dust and debris.

If it's sparkly clean, check your fans. Ensure they are running properly and are not broken or malfunctioning.

Your cpu heat is the issue here. That's why if you ever turn your computer off long enough for the cpu to completely cool off, and then boot up and play dying light directly, your frame rate will be really really good.

Here's my wallet if you still are going to do the bounty reward: 16P9gfqu3xY2W1N9u3ep2ZoMgjPkT9GLmc

I can provide a couple helpful advices for you op:
1. First, go to Task Manager.
2. Then go to "Details" Tab.
3. Now, find the .exe file of Dying Light.
4. Then Right click on it and select "Set Priority" option and set the priority to "Real-time" or high.

Hey! Me and my friend had the same issue. Solved by looking over internet. First, reinstall all redistributable with the one provided. Next, download this  https://mega.co.nz/#!KFZiFBzY!KaUNvpKoEOUrrpemGRa5UGjBYIm0VX-Plnjm5qJQdaw and patch the install folder in program files (or steam) it's important that you launch the game from the folder (not Steam) and in admin mode. Hope it helped Smiley

hey guys,

I have bought dying light on steam and cant actually play it,

I know it has performance issues currently on PC

I get CONSTANT STUTTERING AND LOW LOW FRAMES

my system:

R9 290
i7 2600k
8gb ram

(I should be able to play this game with my gear but I cannot)

I have changed all my settings on low and disabled all the extra video settings

I have also tried to ctrl alt delete and then to set cpu affinity to all my CPUS

(my issue is not one CPU trying to run the game, all my cpus seem to be running the game but at +60% while my 8gb ram is around 4.5gb being used)

i know I probably sound like a bloody idiot but will give a person 0.1 BTC to help me get this piece of shit 75usd game running

thanks in advanced
I read somewhere that it works better with affinity only set to one CPU. YMMV but you should give it a shot.

i think you missread, people are having problems with the game only automatically setting affinity to 1 cpu, runs like shit and people have to manually change it

but the affinity thing isnt my problem as all cpus run it

still open, yogg couldnt fix it

What I did :

- Update ATI drivers.
- Manually change some settings that are not available through the game UI. (Like "sun shadows" to 0 ...)
- Change some ingame settings. (Resolution, switched it to windowed mode, etc..)

There was a slight improvement, but not enough to play one minute straight without getting killed by some monster.

I am sorry I couldn't fix that. Sad
