Good win but it was not very easy, and I would say that there is ring rust for Anjas. Nevertheless, he dig deeper and I would say that it will be a difficult fight if ever he fights Chocolatito or Estrada as those are volume punchers and doesn't seems to be tired.

But anyway, congrats to Filipinos again for this win, they still have a world champion and to Mark Magsayo as well who knock out Pablo Cruz in the fourth round. Double win for Filipinos.
Haven't watched the fight but I got it downloaded to watch this week. Good thing that Filipino fighters are coming back again in the boxing scene and I am happy because recently there is a lacking in the Filipino boxing scene with Pacquiao getting old, I think it is time to find new people to bring glory to my country.

I think there's still a lot of Filipinos in the boxing scene right now, Ancajas, Casimero, Nietes. But none can have the impact that Manny Pacquiao bring not just for Filipinos all over the world, but boxing fans as well. And it's hard to find someone with Manny's talent, it's rare to see boxers come in this generation with that kind of charisma and God given talent.

Yes, this Rodriguez is very tough and durable, Anjacas hits him flush in the jaw, but he keeps on coming. The knockdown was accumulation of punches and I thought that he will be done. But he was able to come back strong.

I thought Ancajas is going to win by a knock out here but Rodriguez just keeps on coming, great endurance on both fighters but obviously, Ancajas is the better fighter he hurt Rodriguez several times, Rodriguez is a tough fighter, this is the first knockdown of his career we can say that Rodriguez is one tough fighter, he just doesn't have the skills to match Ancajas skills.

It was a sweet victory for Ancajas as Rodriguez is a tough mofo, typical of Mexican fighters. I guess he built a good lead and his punch is more telling than Rodriguez and Ancajas has proved again why he is the champion. However, it seems that he gas out allowing Rodriguez to gather momentum but it was not enough as he win on a close score on judges score card.

He hit Rodriguez with some good shots, but Rodriguez is just durable, he did not win by KO here but at least he won by UD which tells his boxing skills is better than Rodriguez. I'm just curious, does anyone here able to bet?

There's no betting for crypto sports bookies so I doubt that anyone here has put be a bet on Ancajas. But he was the favourite to win by KO and not by decision.

A win is still win though despite some disappointment that Ancajas is the heavy favourite but was unable to knock out Rodriguez and the fight even goes to the judges scorecard. Lot of weaknesses is his fight here, but spite of those Rodriguez wasn't able to capitalised although he has a late charge specially on the championship rounds. But Anjacas was the better man that night on route to his 9th successful defense of his belt.

I'm a bit disappointed, I thought he would win this fight in KO, but it's not happening, the betting odds are wrong, he has a heavy favorite and it looks like he does not have the power to KO his opponent. I'm glad there's no betting odds available in crypto betting sites because I could have loss my bet as I'm sure I'll bet on Ancajas to win by KO.

It's still a win but he needs to fight other champion in other organization, this win did not give him anything but a win, not something that will give a good impression to promoters, other champions and boxing experts, hopefully in his next match he'll give us a very impressive win, he is one of the boxers touted as the next Pacquiao.

Not the kind of win we want to expect from Ancajas we expect a knock out but at least he totally dominated the fight and he shows that he can last the whole fight, he needs a fight coming from popular and well known fighters to polished and strengthen him, if he wants to become a big attraction in the US he needs to fight rated fighters in his division.

Congratulations to Jerwin Ancajas for winning the fight. It was a great fight, I didn't expect that Rodriguez would last but it's good that Ancajas won in UD.
He was kinda tired but he continue to fight and win, I think he need to strengthen his condition and improve his punching power.

I don't think that he can improved his punching power, it's already there, matter of how he executed and throw it. Whenever he throws a punch, it seems that he is unbalance that's why the power has somewhat diminished and kudos to Rodriguez, I think he has a tough chin as well.

But with regards to his condition, yeah, he gets tired in the championship round. The good thing is that he has somewhat a tougher chin that's why he didn't go down. And the knock down that he score makes the difference in the judges card.

Unfortunately for us Filipino boxing fans, there are no lines for Ancajas vs Rodriguez.

Fortunately, he is pegged as the heavy favourite to win against Rodriguez. I think that's fair enough for us to know. So all we can do is wish him the best and make the Filipinos proud again.

Yes, just sad not to see crypto sport bookies not covering this as this is a co-main event.

Let's just hope that Ancajas as the betting favorite will win so that he can go and continue to campaign as the champion and face other ABC belt holder like Estrada. For sure that will be a bang, as Ancajas is a big puncher and there is a possibility that he can beat Estrada if he caught him flash in the jaw.

I have no doubt of him winning the fight, maybe "let's just hope the line is up before the fight".... I'm sure as a Filipino, we love to support our fellowman and the only way to support him is to bet on him to win, but with the odds posted, I'm not betting on just a win but a KO win in certain round probably for better odds.

Message @Hhampuz if you are looking for a CM!
This fight is scheduled to happen in less than 24 hours from now but still i don't see betting odds on my favorite sports bookies.

Does anyone here know where to bet?

Good news as both Ancajas and Rodriguez makes their respective weight limit and no hindrances going into the fight.

Yup, no betting odds on crypto sportsbook, I tried checking on my bookie now but I can't see any odds available.

per https://www.gamblingsites.org/picks/jerwin-ancajas-vs-jonathan-javier-rodriguez-betting-odds-and-prediction/... Ancajas is the heavy favorite and the round is only over/under 7.5... so KO win is expected here.

This is my first time hearing these fighters name especially the defending champion. Why is the media didn't show this guy up? I guess the   media were so fed up with the Pacquiao and Mayweather's rematch or Mayweather entertaining those rookies in an exhibition fight.

There are tons of good fighter out there they should have focused on them and not with those who can't fight but keeps on avoiding.
This might be a pretty good fight for the Philippines depending champion that has a potential to become the next Pacquiao.

If I'm not mistaken Ancajas is under the MP promotion so there could be media attention for him. Maybe the one reason is that this fighters are in the lower weight class, so unless you are from the US or Mexico, you won't get the attention.

Fortunately, we just have Estrada vs Chocolatito that might have wake up boxing fans on the lower weights and look for more fights. And now we have Ancajas vs Rodriguez, Ancajas should knock out this guy to take notice that he is for real and potentially can be future fight for Estrada.

Well, I wonder why he is not a popular boxer. He was holding ninth title defense in five years on boxing career why until now he is not being popular.
I am with Ancajas on this match, as I saw in most interview videos online, he ready to face the odds just for the sake and defense pon his title and I hope he can make it. A 24 years old Ancajas vs 25 years old Rodriguez will perhaps a good fight, they have a perfect match that will give good entertainment to us while placing a bet on them. But once a Filipino boxer had a fight, I always give my support.

That depends with his training team, they failed to find a good match and marketing as well. Most popular boxers also raised by a trusted and hardworking trainor who made them a highly paid fighter once they've able to reach that level of popularity.
Ancajas is still young, he always got the potential to become one of the famous like Pacman who now became politician after his long life boxing career.

Ancajas is good mate, maybe you haven't heard from him, but he is the champion and has defended his belt several times already from a lot of good contenders. He doesn't have the media exposure, again probably he hasn't have that many fights in the US.

It will be a big test for him against the Mexican Rodriguez, but nevertheless, I'm also rooting for him as he will be the favourite in this fight.
Most likely the case on where boxers doesnt really get too much media exposure thats why these kind of unexpected surprises do really happen.
You wouldnt know until they do pop out on fighting someone that we've known.

Well, I wonder why he is not a popular boxer. He was holding ninth title defense in five years on boxing career why until now he is not being popular.

There are really boxers who are really making out some records silently just because they havent able to fight off with some popular boxers as their opponent.

You would only know these boxers exist when they have some upcoming fights towards those fighters which are popular and now we are seeing the same thing.

I'll go for the Philippine price here, Ancajas is my man and I'm sure he will win this fight.
Also, I'm betting in this fight, hopefully the odds is not so small for Ancajas as for sure he is the favorites to win in this fight.

If you guys have the betting odds in one of the popular bookies in crypto, please don't hesitate to share.

We arent really that too far off for the said event that would happen in  Saturday, April 10 at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. but i cant see any odds offered or this fight. So we would need to wait a week before and
we might see one but i wont be surprised if Ancajas would be the favored to win on here.

Ancajas surely is the heavily favored in this match. He is a more experienced fighter and faster than Rodriguez.
I saw a Rodriguez fight once and I can say, this guy could easily gas out in the late rounds. So, that makes me think Ancajas will dominate this fight.
I'm surprised there's no odds yet when April is fast approaching, bug anyway this will be a good fight between these both good fighters.

Jerwin Ancajas is not so popular among the bookies that is why they have not put the odds as of this time but for sure they will put one few days before the fight, that's the usual they are doing.

Ancajas should get this one with less complication. He has been in the US for months now and never minding the loneliness of being far from his family for almost a year just to train for whoever will be put in front of him.

At this time of his career, he should have put the big names of this division if only MP Promotions is serious about this guy. I know Sean Gibbons can make things happen if only they are thinking the future of their boxers.

The majority are betting for Ancajas he has a proven track record, not a fight that will headline but we never know the Mexican might pull out with a big surprise he has a good record, Ancajas has fought a lot of Mexican, he knows that they are hungry and with a title on the line Rodriguez will come out very prepare here.

However, let see what will happen, we're almost there and now I'm looking for a betting site that has a good toa bet, I guess Ancajas here is a good choice.

Ancajas is still the choice to win here, it will take a tough and notorious fighter to give him a tough fight and beat him, not some unknown fighter who is only fighting in the US for the first time, I will not rule out any upset, but Ancajas is a fighter who always come well prepared on any fight, especially now that he is the champion.

That is a big challenge for him, I heard so many times with Ancajas fight, it seems he is also a good Filipino boxing fighter that considered almost the same move with Manny Pacquiao. I have heard from his chief trainer Joven Jimenez that Ancajas is ready to fight it's about almost 100% ready for his fight, which means he is trained very well.

Yeah, i've been waiting for this fight to happen and glad that this is finally happening on April, the long wait for our Pretty boy Jerwin Ancajas is over.

Though he has not fought for over a year now, i don't think ring rust would be a factor as he is in the US now, waiting and training hard for this fight to come.

Bookies would put Ancajas on the A side of this match and i hope he will won and fought Estrada for the unification of titles.

Against Rodriguez, might be some sort of a tune up fight (sorry for the word) and a preparation for bigger name fighters like Estrada or Ioka.

There were other fights which were supposed to just be a tune up and the result did not go the way that it was expected. Alejandro Santiago Barrios managed to score a draw against Ancajas.

A fight with Estrada would be difficult to make because Estrada is fighting on DAZN. Boxing politics is what has been holding him back these past years. He should've fought Estrada and Roman Gonzalez already but he isn't affiliated with the right promoter.

That's the only downside though, boxing politics, but again, if promoters are hearing noises from boxing fans to have Ancajas vs Estrada for reunification of their belts and the money could be there then why not?? Probably when this pandemic is over, or at least it has been contain in the US wherein the boxing money is, maybe in about a year or two, and hopefully, we will see them in the ring together.

Time for Ancajas to really step up the plate and fight other belt champion in this stack division.

Quick boxing records for these two boxers.

I am surprised for Jerwin Ancajas, another Filipino fighter and is from the south part of the Philippines, which they are a neighboring province of popular Filipino boxer, Manny Pacman Pacquiao.
Speaking of Jonathan Javier Rodriguez, they are almost the same with 1 loss, but more bouts advantage of Jerwin Ancajas. Both of them are from the country of great boxers, a Mexican versus a Filipino. Looking forward to this fight.
When it comes to statistics or numbers then no doubt that with experience then Ancajas do have it but we cant really still say that Rodriguez wont really be giving a good fight.

They are having 10 fight experience gap but i dont see that it would really be a big factor. So i wont really be ignoring Rodriguez for this one based up on KO probability
then they arent really that much off on a huge gap.
Im not actually aware about this Boxer and this is my first time hearing out his name which it is actually surprising that there are Filipino boxers which are slowly climbing to become legends.Imagine on having
32-1-2 record is something that cant be ignored.Im searching for his fight highlights and this man is a beast when it comes to fast combinations or simply he had those technicalities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oExTYsN3Ms8 . Im rooting for Ancajas to win this fight no doubt on that.

And there is also a PH boxer on their undercard, Mark Magsayo, a rising star with an undefeated record.

Ancajas is a betting favorite here and he will likely defend his title, the Mexican fighter has a good record but according to the report he is fighting unknown fighters and this is his first fight outside of Mexico, but Ancajas still should be careful.
I'm also excited to see Mark Magsayo he is a good prospect and has a good potential to win a world title.

Yeah, I forgot about Mark Magsayo, another young and promising boxer from the Philippines as well. As far as ring rust goes, boxers just need to warm up, probably 1-2 rounds will be enough for Ancajas here to read and adjust and follow his fight plan. He said that he is looking for Srisaket Sor Rungvisai after this fight. So probably that's what they wanted first, before maybe Ioka then he has 2 belts, before reunification with Estrada if money is good in the table.

I think there's two kind of ring rust, (1) those fighter who got injured or sort of taking a break from fighting (2) fighters who are eager to fight but can't because of the current situation. I think Ancajas fell on the second option. And what makes this ring rust very dangerous is that you are really wanted to fight again, an overwhelming feeling. So for me, it won't have a big effect for the champion. Ancajas by decision or knockout.

@ bisdak40, here's the fighter you all been waiting for hehehe, Jerwin Ancajas vs Javier Rodriguez of Mexico for Ancajas' IBF super flyweight belt, it will be his 9th defense of the crown, this April 10th.

Looking forward to bet on this match, for sure these will be a good fight between the two of them since many were excited to watch their fight.

And speaking of the odds, that higher odds is possible if you can already bet now few weeks before the actual game. I experienced betting that high odds before but expect that it will gonna change when the game nearly start.

Just wait till a few more days before the actual fights, there might be other betting options, more juicier odds for Anjacas.

Jerwin has been holding this belt and has face a lot of challenges already. Nothing new here and extra motivated to face Estrada for a reunification although a Japanese is holding one of the belts. Ancajas vs Estrada will also be another epic match, but Jerwin advantage is that he is the power puncher and he will show it in this fight.

I think this will be a more difficult fight than people are expecting. Rodriguez doesn't have a lot of world class experience but in his toughest test, against Felipe Orucuta, he beat his opponent so badly that he had to be put in a medically induced coma after the fight. Ancajas hasn't fought in over a year and ring rust could be a factor.

Felipe Ocuruta has been in the boxing scene for more than 10 years though, and he lost to Estrada prior to facing Rodriguez in 2019. So it might have been the Ocuruta is already on the decline and no longer at his prime when he face Rodriguez, not to take away that his victory though, but he hasn't face any real challenge yet with Ancajas caliber. There could be ring rust, but I'm sure Jerwin can shake it off in the beginning.

Of course, there could be ring rust here, we have seen Beterbiev undergoes the same feeling, everyone thought that he is going to knock out his opponent early but it didn't happen.

So Jerwin for sure knows that his opponent is dangerous, so he will be cautious early and try to get a feel of Rodriguez. But Ancajas wouldn't be a world champion if he doesn't have the tools to adjust and fight with good boxing IQ.

Jerwin Ancajas, in those 2 early scheduled fights with Rodriguez, is always the Favorite.

There might be a slight difference in a margin with the latest odds as Rodriguez won a TKO on his last fight but I see Ancajas will still be the Favorite.

Glad to see that there's another Pinoy who will fight that day. Looking forward to a 2-0 PH win on that cards.

Yeah, we haven't seen the recent odds, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ancajas will still be the favorite as he has the belt. Was not aware that he has defended successfully 8x in a row, that's already an achievement. So it's Fil vs Mex again, so it's going to be war. If by chance Ancajas win, he should be in the discussion to fight Estrada, but it seems that he is chasing Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, don't know what's the reason behind, but still another interesting fight.

Not sure if the odds are accurate though, can anyone confirm this?

That's not accurate since it was based on the match that was cancelled before. I think no official odds were released yet. No fight happened for Ancajas after that date but for Rodriguez, he was seen in action last year and won the fight in a TKO.

Maybe there will be a change of odds.

And there is also a PH boxer on their undercard, Mark Magsayo, a rising star with an undefeated record.

we are now seeing more and more real boxing matches here. no odds yet from bookies, so more then likely at the end of this month, they will start listing this fight. definitely, the odds will change here. as rodriguez won in a TKO, it may affect in what they will come up with the odds.

Finally it's happening, haven't seen fights of Filipino fighters recently but this one should be good.

However, as I checked the betting odds, look like it's not attractive to bet on Ancajas here.

This fight is slated for 2020, however, Rodriguez has some visa problem if my memory serves me right that's why the fight was postponed. Nevertheless, in about 3 weeks we will finally see another great Filipino champion defending his belt.

This is interesting fight, as we just seen Estrada (WBC,WBA) vs Chocolatito recently and we also have Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (who beat both fighters). And then Kazuto Ioka (WBO) of Japan.
