Plant looks very fast and strong, but we all know that is fight is a mismatch and that's why he really looks good, Truax is a journey man and old. And I don't think that is enough to beat Canelo if they fight this year.

I haven't seen the full fight, but base on what I read, it was a one sided fight, as he pick Caleb Truax in a 12 gruelling rounds. Truax was no match he was bloodied. The knock out didn't come as Plant claim that he hurt his hands (and possibly broken), in the 4th or 5th round. I fight with Canelo is inevitable
this year or early next year depending on Canelo's 2 fight this year.

This was not a great opponent for Plant. It seems like nobody in this division is willing to face a worthy contender unless they get the Canelo fight. If Plant had faced a more credible opponent it would've made him the frontrunner to face Canelo in May, instead he chose to play it safe and now has to wait in line behind Billy Joe Saunders.

Can Truax last for 12 rounds? But yeah, if this will last for 12 round, Caleb Plant via decision is more than likely to happen here. At 3.25 right now (3.20 at stake), that's a good odd to bet. Maybe will be putting a lil bit so it will be interesting for me to watch.

He will try to survived that's for sure and @3.2 for Caleb Plant to win via decision is a good odd to bet. Truax is an experienced boxer so maybe he can used it to at least go full 12 rounds but I'm sure he will absorbed a lot of punishment in return.

Although in the weigh in, he looks so soft as compare to Plant who's really in the best fighting shape of this life. One way for Truax to really have a chance to win here is to really rough up Plant early and make him uncomfortable instead of fighting in the distance.

Definitely, no one will bet on that odds, the reason why I want to bet early is that the under 8.5 might go down a bit as the fight gets closer, as least betting early you will get a good odds.

Caleb Plant has the other side of the belt in the 168 lbs division. So he is on the collision course with Canelo specially if he win it, regardless by knock out of decision. And as we can see in the odd for Caleb is very high as if he is not going to lose this fight unless some freak accident happen inside the ring.

Traux is good but i think Plant can win this one, obviously he has way more knockouts and punching power, while Traux can only rely on points and take it to a decision. I have doubts that Caleb Plant would give Canelo a hard time though, if he decided to pursue him after this fight. It's not like he have fought the elites such as Mayweather and GGG. Either way interesting to see a heavy hitter and undefeated take on a Canelo alvarez, because the Callum match ended in disappointment.

Considering the record of Plant, he’s on a better position for this fight and I’m impress with his knockout record but since Traux is a former champion as well, this will be an interesting fight. If Plant win on this match, then I think they should push the fight between Canelo so we can witness a more intense fight. Anyway, I’ll bet on Plan for this match.

Both of them are obvious professional, and with the current status of Caleb Plant as the champion, I don't think that he will overlook Truax because he is looking for the next big fight of his career. For Truax though, he should really train very hard, this is just one of a lifetime opportunity for him again to become a world champion.

But for sure Plant will be the favourite as he is the champion and the younger of the two.

It's s huge upset if Plant loses this match he is building his reputation as the next big fighter in that division, I have seen some of his fights although he has big punching power, he still is a raw fighter and I don't think he can match up Canelo's power he needs great trainer like Reynoso and more big fights.

Yes, Caleb Plant will be the betting odd's favourite here. I don't see Caleb Truax giving Plant any problem. Plant is on the prime of his career, while Truax was on the twilight already, and has seen better days by once becoming a champion by upsetting DeGale years ago.

Interesting to note that Caleb Plant has criticised Callum's Smith performance against Canelo and he said that Smith really folded on that fight when Callum was hit by a body shot. So let's see how he will perform down to road against Canelo, as Alvarez has said that he will stay on the super middleweight weight class.

Well, everyone seem to support the favorite here(Caleb Plant) but undermining the strength of Caleb Truax, this guy will do exploit as he has to prove himself once again in the fight of Caleb². Plant is a well known fighter but Caleb Truax be a slow down fighter on his previous fight might change this time, possibly there might be a disappointment for favorite IMO.

I can't consider this a walk in a park for Plant but he is in a good fight but definitely Plant will come out a winner here, he should come out with an impressive win here because he is after against Canelo Alvarez who is very impressive in his win against Smith, I believe he will make this a stepping stone for a match against Canelo, Canelo is the guy other boxers wants to meet right now.

Obviously Caleb Plant is the heavy favorite here, I am not familiar with both fighters I have to do some research on both fighters and Plant for me is the favorite here but I don't rule out an upset here, between him and Canelo I don't think he is ready for Canelo, if Callum Smith who is a volume puncher and with a huge height advantage cannot get into Canelo's defense I don't think he can also, he is slow and he lacks defense.

This is a battle between young with a perfect record and an experience boxer that has an advantage with regards to overall fights and age as their age difference is 9 years. This fight will test Plant career for sure as he is holding a title while Truax didn't have any.

Even if Plant has a perfect record, it is still very early for him to face Canelo even if we can say that Plant is a threat to Canelo if their fight will push through. If Plant can KO Truax in this fight then I can say that he has a better chance to win versus Canelo if they will met in the ring in their following matches.

Battle of the Calebs

Caleb Plant's name first floated when he was once considered to be the opponent of Canelo Alvarez but negotiations failed and Canelo ended up fight Callum Smith.

Plant is undefeated with a 20-0 record and 12 of that fight via knockout so we can also consider this guy a heavy hitter and a dangerous opponent for Canelo if that fight pushes through.
