If DAZN really wants to have customers subscribing in their services fighting an unworthy opponent is not the way to go. Yes I do have to agree with you that DAZN might be testing the waters with Canelo but this fight really won't make people be interested in their streaming service. If they do want to have a ton of customers signing up to their website I think the best way to go is to have a super bout, you know the ones which fans and enthusiast alike will be talking about for years to come.

Let's see how it goes for DAZN but I do think that somewhere along the way, Canelo really needs to fight legitimate champions and in the 160-168 division. Its a 10 fight deal, however having a super fight with GGG looks bleak at this point. I think GGG needs to prioritize things and sign with DAZN even with just 1 fight to be able for him to get the Canelo. It makes sense because we all that it's still the biggest fight for both of them, specially Alvarez.

~snip~

Yes, a Callum Smith or even a GGG III will be a better option for Alvarez, but this is the beginning of DAZN investments on him so Alvarez team chooses the easy route so that they will let DAZN felt its worth  throwing a lot of money on Canelo. LOL. Boxing is really a business know and superfights rarely do come at this era.

As expected, Canelo Alvarez just blasted Fielding in 3 rounds. He knock down Rocky three times and the last KD was enough for the referee to stop the contest, so obviously, the height and reach advantage didn't bother Canelo at all. But then again, as I have said, this is cherry picking the weakest champion in the super MW so I'm not impressed at all but a win is a win. This made Canelo a 3 weight division champ.

I really thought that at least Rocky Fielding will give us a entertaining fight and I have given some chances to upset Alvarez because he is a true MW. But yes, I would have to agree that his team has carefully handpicked Fielding because they know that Alvarez can easily beat him.

You couldn't even call that as a boxing match Rocky Fielding literally look like a walking punching bag for Canelo Alvarez he made Fielding bend his knee all rounds as if he was his king. What made this win inevitable is Fielding isn't even the number one Middleweight in Australia as he is just ranked #4 there, Canelo should have fought Callum Smith instead which I think would be more entertaining to watch. But an even more better thing to watch is Canelo vs. GGG 3 IMHO this rematch should happen as Golovkin got robbed with his belt and the worst thing is he lost his unblemished record.

Is it right to think that the promoters or handlers of Canelo Alvarez accepted this fight just to increase his number of wins? Rocky Fielding is not even ranked #1 to begin with so why create a match that is somewhat obvious that Rocky Fielding will not last for a long time in the ring. Look at the fight record of Canelo Alvarez, before beating Rocky Fielding, 3 months ago Canelo Alvarez fought Gennady Golovkin. It's just 3 months interval. Other boxers will start training 6 months prior to the match.

Easy win on Alvarez as expected. Body shots are Fielding's weakness and it helped him to gain the title even though his enemy has an advantage in reach and height. Maybe Canelo need to fight a more experienced and more popular fighter to gain enough traction on the media Cheesy.

There's no popular super MW on the list of champions in either the alphabet belt (IBF/WBC/WBO) except perhaps for the youngest champion ever at MW, David Benavidez. All great MW's have retired already like Froch, Dirrell, Arthur Abraham and and Ward. So let's see if he's going to stay at super MW or go back to MW again.

This is a careful and calculated match making. They chooses the weakest amongst the super MW champ which is Fielding. This is similar to Manny going up in weight classes and facing Diaz and I don't see why Canelo will not win this fight. I'm sure that if Alvarez win this fight, he won't stay at 168 for good because there's a lot of legitimate contenders in that division.
Going for an another division wont really be that easy not only on the contender itself but you would face initially on how you would able to meet up the specific weight on
the said class and with that alone is already a challenge for a boxer. Going back into the topic i dont really see for a reason why we would underestimate Canelo on this fight, chances of
winning is there but talking with the reach by his opponent for sure this one wont really be that  easy.

I don't know if boxing fans here is aware that Canelo Alvarez will have his first fight on his huge contract with DAZN against Rocky Fielding, for his WBA world super middleweight. It means that Canelo will be going up in weight class. The size difference is evident though as Fielding in 5 inch taller than Canelo and obviously a natural 168 pounder. So its going to be interesting for Canelo to test this new water.

What are your thoughts on this fight? Will this be an easy fight for Canelo that's why they chooses Fielding or Rocky will defend this belt and send Canelo back to 160 lbs?
