The Magsayo vs Haro fight is cancelled due to Haro retiring. What a turn of event.

Magsayo will still fight this October but with a different opponent.

@Baofeng and the rest of you guys, thank you for your comments and ideas as usual.

Well, both fighters have strong skills in the ring fighting based on their records.

                     [vs]

Of course I will support my fellow countryman during this fight and I will place my bet to him, it is obvious he will win this fight and I believe his record and the winning streak should not be broke.

Not familiar of Magsayo but his 20-0 record is impressive. He should get the shot to fight more outside the country. Why did rappler consider 33 year old Haro a veteran when this guy only have 17 fights?

Lots of unknown Filipino are really good at boxing, and thanks to Manny Pacquiao, they should get the exposure they needed. Maybe they based it on his age, that's why they said Haro is a veteran. And Haro did stop fighting for 3 years because of his involvement in the Daniel Franco incident.

Rappler is an unusual page to be a source of information, this website had been accused for all the jologs fake news especially for polotical news.

I agree, maybe boxing website like this:

I don't want to be biased because Mark Magsaya is also a Filipino but for sure Mark Magsayo has more chances of winning on this match.

With these stats;
Wins   - 20
Wins by KO - 14
Losses - 0

It's very impressive and even if you didn't watch his past fights, you knew that it'll be worth it to bet on him.
KOs percentage of Jose Haro is 47.06% and Mark Magsaya is 70%.

You should see his past fights on Youtube he is fast and both hands packs a power, he is a good prospect for MP promotion I'm sure MP promotions will give him a lot of good fights but he needs to get a sensational win against Haro to impress the boxing fans in the US
he is the closest that the Philippines can have if Manny Pacquiao decides to retire fighting in the ring.

ALA boxers are given great opportunity under MP promotion, so this fight is also a PPV fight or can we access it live in our TV?

I love to bet on this particular fight but I have no idea yet who will be the underdog and favorite of the fight.

Mark Magsayo is 20-0 (undefeated) -https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/653034
Jose Haro is 15-1 with 8 KOs. - https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/549258

I'll go with the undefeated but I'm waiting for the odds.

Sorry brother wasn't able to see your thread,  Grin.

I think this is an easy fight for Mark here, probably KO in the mid to later round. He has all the tools, power in both hands, tough chin, although needs to polish like his foot work, but I don't see Jose Haro beating him at this point.

But I don't think that Magsayo will be next on the list for Gary Russell. Him and Devin Haney has been going on social media, lol. I think this two will likely fight next.

Added trivia: Did you know that Jose Haro almost killed someone in the ring? He fought Daniel Franco in 2017 and it was a brutal knock-out (that's his first KO in his career). It was so brutal that Franco went into comatose after the fight and needed surgery to stop the brain bleeding.

Although Daniel Franco survived and alive today but he can still feel the effects and has stop boxing already because of the accident.

Most boxing experts thinks Magsayo will have the chance to be the next Manny Pacquiao if he will follow the training and mindset of our national fist. However, to like Manny he has so many rooms to improve including some rare skills that only Manny is capable of. Those will not be impossible since he is now under Pacquiao's promotion. we can see in his last fights that he has also incredible speed and power.

The Philippines has a great line up of boxers that can succeed if Pacquiao leaves the boxing scene, and Magsayo is one of them he is ready for any title crack but it will not happen if he will not get past Haro, I have seen Haro's fight against Rodriguez and Magsayo has a good chance to beat Haro, he is not really that strong compared to Magsayo's power I'm betting Magsayo to beat Haro hopefully by a knock out.

ctto

Venue: Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles
Date: September 23, 2020

Barely two weeks from now, Mark Magsayo will slug it out with Jose Haro. If Magsayo will win, he will have a crack for the world championship against World Boxing Council featherweight titlist Gary Russell Jr.

Mark Magsayo is a former boxer of the now defunct ALA Stable but now he is with the MP Promotion of Manny Pacquiao. He is unbeaten with a record of 20-0 (14 knockouts). For me this kid is a diamond in a rough but with the guidance of Freddie Roach, he could wear a championship belt someday.

Betting odds for this fight is not yet on the bookies but for sure they will cover this one.

What's your thoughts on this one guys?
