it would be a great idea to take up this coin and develop it is just more effective than pushing out a new coin for several reasons.

1. i t is already on exchanges aviable
2. has a long history already
3. proven to be like immortal ;-)

ovaeral it would need less time to climb up again its more time effective to use an existing basis.

If you are going to update/change the code, you should make it able to be merged mined, so miners need not switch coins at all, just sit tight 24/7 mining all the scrypt coins that can be merge-mined...

The website says there is no developer at present, but they do not intend to alter the BBQcoin wallet at all. However, it's not clear who runs the website. If someone wants to update the code and the miners agree to the changes I doubt the people behind the website can do much to stop it.

It has survived a major attack not soon after release, been brought back from obscurity by a developer known as CaptChadd who then stepped down as another developer, BigDaub promised many great things for this impressive coin but for whatever reason disappeared leaving BBQcoin without any form of Development or support.

Even though we now run this website, it is not our objective to alter the BBQcoin client in anyway, unless requested to by the BQC community, as we feel that the coin has lasted this long so why fix what is not broken.

It doesn't look like anyone is doing anything for this coin.  The "Foundation" hasn't posted anything on fb since 2013. Chad has gone away as well.

This coin needs some updates.

I've seen a familiar pattern emerge since I launched a BQC pool in march of this year, people wait until the difficulty drops way down and then mine and drive it up again, but once it rises they drop off, leaving the coin more or less stalled at a high difficulty.

This penalizes the regular miners who stick around through difficulty changes.

We need to change the difficulty retarget time to discourage this behavior.  Something like retarget every 5 blocks or so would probably help.

The devtome page needs to be updated (I couldn't fiind a link to signup or I would have done it myself) none of the listed pools are still operating.

Does anyone know who is actually controlling the source for this coin at present ?

Can we make these changes ?

I have a pool running at http://bqc.federatedmining.net/
