Smoking (4/5): It makes for great conservation of freshly ground tobacco, making amounts last longer than when burning them. The vapor comes through airy and light with a nice taste to it. However, the mouthpiece can get pretty hot after a couple of hits, and can be rather uncomfortable at times.

Hardware (4/5): The PAX Pen offers 3 different temperature settings with the push of a button, and the magnetic lid on the bottom for the holding chamber that is easily removed. Quick turn on/off just by pressing the pen mouthpiece down; this makes for easy storage of the pen, and leaves the mouthpiece in a somewhat protected position when turned off.  However, at times it can take a while between hits for the pen to be ready again. In my personal experience since I’ve received the unit I preferred the orange or red setting.

Ease of use (5/5): After turning it on the PAX Pen warms up pretty quick for first use, and your herbs are easily changed between sessions, due to the quick access magnetic lid. The temperature settings are easily indicated by 3 different colored lights when changing. The User Guide provided with the PAX Pen makes getting ready for the first time you use it easy; the instructions provide simple instructions coupled with pictures.

Other (5/5): The PAX Pen comes with a 10 year warranty from retail purchase date, however, culexevilman is offering a 2 year warranty. The PAX is easily disassembled for quick cleaning through the use of a small pipe cleaner and a dab of alcohol. A cool little feature is included to show battery level; just by shaking the PAX Pen you will receive an indicator light of battery level. When the battery is low, you just set it on the provided charging dock. You can typically get through a day on a single charge of the PAX, with a regular smokers usage (possibly two charges for heavy smokers). Received the PAX Pen quickly from culexevilman - came within a week of ordering.

Clarify me if I am wrong, but how would these be authentic if they don't have the easter egg programmed by Ploom developers? Does that not act as a dead giveaway that a neat feature unique to the machine is missing; therefore, the product is most likely fake?

While we're at it, can you expand on how you got these products?


This does not give a clear, concise idea of where these items come from. "Its units that had slipped outside of the factory avoided to 'quality controls?' What? So does this 'fact' act as a cover for the illegitimate acquisition of these PAX - Ploom units?


This guy, in my opinion, hit the nail on the head. These PAX units were not "Fallen off the truck" or whatever to the B.S. "quality controls" [sic] are. One person cannot undercut the actual manufacturer (straight from the source!!) by 100$.

If the quality of these counterfeits is high, then you can expect the product to function well; however, you cant tell without some person falling victim and letting us know, or that same person getting a superb product.

All in all, this thread will probably be deleted due to infringement of intellectual property.

True, its not like they build it themselves, they designed it, its still build by the chinese factory and chinese parts made in china, keep that in mind. I think the warranty can be alot more better than the actual company sometimes

Most Chinese have a 12-18 month return for everything. Besides if you live in a place like FL, you cant exactly bring your illegal device to be replaced.

it's worth the $250 for the 10 year warranty. You wont get that from a chinese knockoff.

Regardless if its a clone or not $150 is a steal if its good quality. Spending the extra $100 to get "authentic" is only about bragging rights. I've talked to many people who have clone ecig parts, and some work better than the authentic.

I'd be willing to grab a bunch next month if there was a way to validate the authenticity. 

I'm sure a review by farlack would help that process since he seems to have experience in e-cigs and vapes.

Maybe Ploom charges too much? LOL Anyways, everything is made in China these days, as far as counterfeits go, most are just cheap imitations, but there are real deals out there, you just have to look harder.

Mainly due to the fact your price is way to cheap.  Everything in the vape world is cloned on a massive scale. I can get you these same things for $60 each. I sell Ecig things that have authentication keys that pass but are clone. The Chinese are just good at making counterfeits lol.

No party mode on these, a easter egg that was programmed by Ploom engineers. All other function LED lights and modes are the same.

Can you confirm that these units have party mode?

Hi, would you care to share why they are not authentic? Thanks. I think these are great. Made by the same factory that is making the Pax by Ploom thats being shipped to Ploom. Frankly they just make it in secret and off the book.

I guess it makes it not OFFICIAL made by Ploom, rather I am in a agreement with Maidak, going to send a sample unit to Maidak and see what he thinks about the authenticity of these.

I think a lot of sellers of these products would have success if they just admitted, they are not made by PAX themselves. They are amazing clones. They work pretty much the same. Just made by different people, but same specifications.

Sorry but I read through the thread, but these are not authentic. There are no "Fell off the truck" things... And they're not going to give a discount because the box has a ding on it. They would take the pax out of the box, and put it in a new box, not lose $150 over a scratch on the box.

I've talked to a bunch of people who had pax clones. If you have a good clone its 9/10 as good as an authentic. Save the $100 from retail and grab this one.

These are the real deal my friends, I was gonna sell these at 199 USD, but then again just feels good to give back to the bitcoin community that has given me so much in the past. I personally have my life changed thanks to bitcoin.

Power On


Click the mouthpiece to turn your PAX on! It will pulse purple while heating, and then shine green to indicate having reached your desired temperature.

Standby Mode


PAX has an on-board accelerometer! If your PAX sits still for 20 seconds then it will go into standby mode, which is indicated by a blue LED light. Pick up your PAX again and it will heat up to your selected temperature setting. If the device sits still for 3 minutes then it will shut off to conserve battery life. A bumpy car ride is enough motion to keep the device awake!

Battery Level


Click the mouthpiece to turn your PAX on, then shake it to show the remaining battery life. 3 blinking green lights indicate a full or mostly-full battery, yellow indicates adequate battery remaining, and red indicates a low battery.

Charging


Your PAX will fully charge in roughly two hours. Your PAX will shine orange while on the charging dock until it reaches 80% full, at which point it will shine green. The remaining 20% will charge at a slower rate. You can't overcharge your battery! PAX was designed with smart technology to prevent overcharging!

Temperature Settings


You can adjust your temperature setting by removing the mouthpiece and pressing the white button on the body of the PAX. The LED light on the front of your PAX will change colors to indicate the selected temperature. Yellow represents low (370f), orange represents medium (390f), and red represents high (410f). Start low and gradually increase the temperature to make the most of your material!

what are the are color differences between the LED when charging, using, temp settings?

Also do you have to pull out the mouth piece to charge it?

Well, most of my buyers are discrete 420 folks. I think its great for tobacco as well. Think this is a great deal for everyone, either self-use or reselling.

I did the e-cig thing for a little while a few months I broke away from it though. Is this more or less just a vape for the 420 friendly folk? I couldn't find but 1 tobacco related product for this item.

They are NOT defective, maybe the outer-box have some blemishes, or bumps, nothing that would interfere with actual units cosmetics and operations. Escrow is welcome, I would use Ognasty or others we both agreed upon. Buyer pays escrow fees.

Simply the quality of the units will tell that these are great deals, definitely not the cheap low end imitation crap. Pictures are actual units. I will provide after sales warranty for non-user induced defects and such.

I'm really interested in this. How can you offer the PAX for $149 when it retails for $250 from Ploom? Is it 100% genuine? I know you don't offer refunds, but what if the pax simply stops working? Am I out of luck?
