Guys, thanks for the help. I found it was a power problem.  My outlet just didn't produce enough juice and I plugged it in another circuit and now it's mining fine. There was no issues with the hardware at all or my configuration!

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Check your addresses for both the pools and your wallet to make sure there is no space at the beginning or end of them. Many times when copy-pasting a space is picked up. When that happens miners will fail to connect.

'The right to privacy matters'
that psu will do 1300 watts at 110/120 volts a 13th unit pulls 1400 watts

so it will not start.

but  2 boards should work  as that is around 950 watts

You should see what you get with only 1 board plugged in. The S9 can draw upwards of 1500 W and it's highly recommended to run them on 220V.

Seems like a power problem to me. Are you running on 220V?

Nope, the power supply can do both 110/220 and I'm running my power at 110.  I don't have any 220 sockets, should I just try to power on 1 board instead and see if it works then?  If I want to use all 3, do I need 220?  I thought it pulls around 1300watts at max utilization.

I couldn't post on pastebin due to kb limit but I managed to find somewhere else to host it here:

Thanks.

You should use pastebin or some similar site to post your kernel log, and then you can link to it from here.

It looks like you have an autotune firmware, in fact it is the latest from Nov 2017. If you want to flash another firmware you should probably stick with other autotune firmwares. But first, let us take a look at your kernel log.

This is my first time installing and setting up the S9 miner.  The instructions seem simple enough and I created a BTC wallet and account for antpool.com (for testing).  I had originally setup an account on kano.is but the miner wasn't working.

I left the unit on for a few hours to see if it would starting mining but the hashes are at 0GH/s.  I tried soft and hard resetting the unit but it keeps getting stuck at 0GH/sec and never goes past that.

I wanted to download a firmware for it but wasn't sure which one to get.  The label on it says s9 13TH/sec but I didn't want to flash the wrong one as I've heard it would kill the unit.  Attached is the screenshots of what my unit shows.  The main page of the web GUI will show the hardware version and bminer version after 20 to 30 mins of running (which I heard is normal).

I'm using the bitminer power supply to power it and it's plugged straight into the surge and the network connectivity works, as I can run a ping and trace test on it.

I can't seem to post the kernel log here since it exceeds the 64,000 character limit.

I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with it, all the 3 asic boards look fine as well with no x's and all o's.
