I really don't get why so many people try this scam. Does anyone actually ever fall for it?

I've seen it happen at least a couple of times. One guy was scammed for quite a bit by pretending to be theymos after the guy bidded on an auction. The name was ridiculous as well like theym4s or something, but yeah, successfully scams will be rare. I reckon most people probably won't even own up to being scammed after though out of embarrassment.

it only cost them 2 minutes to make a new account and send message maybe 0.001% people fall for it and its worth a shot for them
It actually takes 6 minutes to create an account and send a PM but yea I see your point. I just don't see anyone being dumb enough to fall for it, at least not anyone with enough money to make it worth their while.

i have seen same pms before with same layout as well i mean writing "sr member" in signature  i think he got success in the past so he is keep trying
ps looks like u have created alot of accounts u know the exact time Cheesy and thank you for your quick response on marking a scamer
There is a 360 second limit that limits new users from sending a PM or posting from the time they last did an "action" which includes logging in (or creating a new account), posting or sending a PM
