The threat of the Founding Clubs being expelled from their own domestic leagues and cup competitions as well as their players never being able to play their national sides in UEFA European Cup and FIFA World Cup competitions means this will be cause lots of problems.
We all know UEFA and FIFA wield too much power, they always have so maybe this is a way for the giant European football clubs to fight back but I am not sure this will go ahead. It might gather more momentum several years in the future but right now most fans are happy with the UEFA Champions League and they are looking forward to the new changes they will introduce for in 2024 to improve the competition.
Right now, the Founding Clubs of the European Super League seem to be pushing ahead with their idea but it will not be a reality without a fight from FIFA and UEFA.
Are the players going to play in a mid-week European Super League knowing they will never be able to participate for their national teams in European and International cup competitions?
This is going to get very messy...
When viewed from FIFA's comments, those involved in the competition must be recognized by: (FIFA's association / federation), of course it is determined by each club and adjusted to the club level in play.
It aims to have consequences in the competition every club plays, although for now there is no certainty about the rules and format of the competition, as you mentioned many clubs feel this is unfair to them, many reasons about this from the players themselves.
Actually the goal of the European Super League, they want the creation of an independent European elite club without involving FIFA or UEFA, even though at this time it is considered that this competition is against FIFA rules, but this is still the pros and cons of the club, the conclusion: in the European Super League competition there is no certainty whether it can be said to continue or not, but there must be developments in the future whether this continues or not.
But I conclude this will continue.
