FIFA and UEFA are monopolies there is no doubt about that. They wield too much power and there should be a challenge to their dominance with a rival to UEFA and one to FIFA. If these clubs had handled presenting their European Super League project differently they could have made some form of progress on an anti-UEFA and anti-FIFA agenda but they lost the PR battle in the first minutes of their announcement being leaked.

UAFA and FIFA have become too monopolistic and are taking a huge cut of profits from every game just for being the 'regulator'

many teams want to break away and have a 'regulator' that is founded by the football teams and not some other business where none of the chiefs have kicked a ball in any official game

..
yes its about money. but its the same plan as a music artist wanting tos tart its own management company to avoid other management companies syphoning off the money for their plays

if football teams/music bands dont like their management company they should have the ability to set their own management company up and not have their income controlled by some stranger

This is going to get very messy...
yes, you are very quick to predict about the European Super League.

I see today's news, it seems a bit chaotic, the idea of this competition is a bit polemic for now the quota required has not been reached even though the competition will be followed by many clubs, criticism is raining on the European Super League at the moment, but for that like England, Italy and Spain seem to support this competition.

Currently it has become a hot topic in the world of football about the European Super League, whether this can have an impact on other clubs, whether the competition could ruin the future English and European trophies, I am sure there is an internal objective in the European Super League competition.

The threat of the Founding Clubs being expelled from their own domestic leagues and cup competitions as well as their players never being able to play their national sides in UEFA European Cup and FIFA World Cup competitions means this will be cause lots of problems.

We all know UEFA and FIFA wield too much power, they always have so maybe this is a way for the giant European football clubs to fight back but I am not sure this will go ahead. It might gather more momentum several years in the future but right now most fans are happy with the UEFA Champions League and they are looking forward to the new changes they will introduce for in 2024 to improve the competition.

Right now, the Founding Clubs of the European Super League seem to be pushing ahead with their idea but it will not be a reality without a fight from FIFA and UEFA.

Are the players going to play in a mid-week European Super League knowing they will never be able to participate for their national teams in European and International cup competitions?

This is going to get very messy...

When viewed from FIFA's comments, those involved in the competition must be recognized by: (FIFA's association / federation), of course it is determined by each club and adjusted to the club level in play.

It aims to have consequences in the competition every club plays, although for now there is no certainty about the rules and format of the competition, as you mentioned many clubs feel this is unfair to them, many reasons about this from the players themselves.

Actually the goal of the European Super League, they want the creation of an independent European elite club without involving FIFA or UEFA, even though at this time it is considered that this competition is against FIFA rules, but this is still the pros and cons of the club, the conclusion: in the European Super League competition there is no certainty whether it can be said to continue or not, but there must be developments in the future whether this continues or not.
But I conclude this will continue.

Manchester City are owned by the Abu Dhabi state

Tottenham are owned by a Englishman

If their owners cared about their local communities and how it would negatively affect football in general and football fans around the cities they have stadiums in and fans around the world they would never even consider signing memorandums of understandings with each other.

UEFA was going to announce their plans for a 32 team Champions League system from next season but that has been overshadowed by the leaked news of the European Super League.

I saw the news some hours ago and didn't quite understand the need for the European Super League aside from the money it would bring to the respective clubs. I heard the initial/Founding teams of the league were promised about $350M (If I remember correctly) as rewards alone for joining  the league with promises about better competitiveness and sponsorship deals that could see these teams say goodbye to the current financial crisis caused by the pandemic. In my opinion, this breakaway league doesn't benefit fans just the clubs involve. Anyway, UEFA and FIFA are strongly against it. Even the Premier league too, is against it. Let's see how fan-owned clubs like Barcelona will join such a project if majority of their fan base doesn't like the idea.

I'm fine with the status quo, don't know about others. It looks like pitching the best teams against each other kinda like what Champions league does already.

SKY SPORTS BREAKING NEWS

BBC SPORTS BREAKING NEWS

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between 12 European football clubs. The European Super League is going to be announced in the next few days according to Sky Sports but news has been leaked to the media.

6 English teams involved are: Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea

3 Spanish teams involved are: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona

3 Italian teams involved are: Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan

If the backlash in the media and from the public is too big then these 12 clubs will back down and not go ahead to form the European Super League.

I think this project will not go-ahead because the teams involved will be immediately banned from their respective domestic and European competitions by UEFA and none of their players will be allowed to represent their national sides again in any competition because UEFA and FIFA will ban them.

A point to note is that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have made it clear they will not be joining any breakaway European Super League.

On this occasion I think the football fans will ensure that the European Super League does not go ahead but it might be a different matter in another 7 -10 years time when the possibility arises again.
