Lately, there's been speculation that the UK will, in fact, remain in the EEC. Because of that, BTC price is falling. It even hit $550.

Should I buy? Should we buy?

It has not been approved yet that UK will exit EU but until now i have read that the pound currency will have a lower value so bitcoin can be a great alternative but these days bitcoin price is not good and can go even more dumped.

The referendum is a advisory referendum but the EU want the UK to pack their shit and leave now they've give a clear message the EU sucks.  If UK do nothing the voters will also feel the system doesn't work and more chaos will be incoming.

I did not really expect a leave of the British. But I am more surprised that is does not really have an impact on the Bitcoin price. Therefore, I am currently a little uncertain.

A buy of Bitcoin is certainly a good decision long term. If we take a look at other European countries like the Netherlands, France, Denmakr, Czech Republic or Poland, then we see that there are majorities for an EU exit, too.

Referendum Pools are showing 50/50 ,if there is noise that Britain will stay, than i will bet will leave
My opinion is wait a little and look what Chinise will do ,thay decide about price

The polls are likely rigged or not telling the full story, its nothing close to 50/50.  Betting market does not lie.

Maybe i should have looked into what this brexit rubbish actually meant for me living in UK? haha i will just support crypto i think.

OMG sorry guys the betting market was wrong! haha are you guys seeing the value of GBP, i just lost tons in GBP but made gains in BTC so very happy.  Looks like the market thinks britain will be weaker outside EU interesting.
It is only initial reaction. So it is expected to be a negative one. Britain was one of the top 3 EU most important member (along with Germany and France) so panic is understandable.
But I predict that it is only temporary. In a month situation on the financial market should be back to where it was before Brexit.

I dont think this is the case for UK, the GBP will be messed up until we know exactly what happens in 2018.  Housing market also will suffer most likely.  Good news though, chaos means opportunity.

Does the growing interest by the state in currencies like bitcoin create any spill over effect where that interest and investment could drag bitcoin down along with the pound and Euro?

Consolidating markets are tricky. Just when you think you’ve got them figured out, you end up the wrong way on a big move and you feel like you’ve been betrayed by everything you know.

Brexit / Bremain is unlikely to affect the exchange rates in a big way. On the other hand, halving is going to play the major role. A lot of speculators had accumulated hoards of BTC, expecting for a major spike after the halving. Now they are realizing that their strategy was wrong, and some of them are dumping their coins. I will not be very surprised if the exchange rates drop back to $230 per coin.

$230 Bitcoin price ? No way. I do not think it can happen. Although we are facing price dip and lots of people panic and selling causing it to dip more. But it will just take a few days to get the rise back in bitcoin price. We have lots of hope for this halving bring a lots of increase in price. I wish all goes as accepted.

Brexit canw stronlgy impact the fiat money market but I don't think that influence the Bitcoin price substantialy. There is no big connection between this two things. Butw now it's time for buying Bitcoin because the price has fallen and will rise again

So it seems that halving is only pure overhyped event and won't have any significant impact on price of BTC. With more than 15 millions of BTC already in circulation we have enough coins to sustain the market...
Brexit, however, can only be good for bitcoin, as investors will most likely ditch traditional investing instruments and traditional FIAT markets and give rise to the cryptocurrency market.

I actually don't see a correlation between Brexit and BTC current price, we all know that China is the one that manages the ups and downs in Bitcoin for the last couple of years.

Having said that, I do really believe that Brexit will happen and that it might be good for Bitcoin.

I really find it hard to wrap my head around the idea that Bitcoin reacts to real world events. What it does do is inspire the manipulators to fuck with the minnows in the market by making them believe that. Ultimately I guess that's the same thing.

i still believe that the whole brexit drama has nothing to do with this pump(maybe only on a very little extend) it's all just pump and dump to accumulate before the next pump and dump

anyway it does not matter, as long as the value is increasing on average, which is what is happening

Well man IMO it is a good time to buy today. Even if bitcoin's price drops a little now I think it will not drop big because halving is near. Just hold your bitcoins then wait for a price rise.
It seems to me that this event (together with many other events) are offsetting the price increase caused by the upcoming halving.

I see a stable price ahead, but I can be horribly wrong so don't take my word for it.

Its more likely that britain will stay in EU, it always has been as i told people before just check the betting market.  The bitcoin move up or down has nothing to do with any of this basically.  Its to do with the coming halving and natural growth of bitcoin in general.

Is there any way to know what the effect of the Brexit vote has on the price of a bitcoin, or is this all just wild speculation?

Definitely a good time to buy.Maybe the price will continue to decrease even more.

I still don`t know why should Brexit have any influence over the btc price....

Based on what I've heard, people from the UK see bitcoin as a vehicle of investment since almost everyone expects GBP to have a sharp drop in value both in the short and long term.

Therefore, a significant amount of people would exchange their GBP to BTC if ever Brexit does happen, but people are speculating about Bremain right now so prices are dropping.
