I had no idea that Brian Armstrong was retarded. I guess it's nice that Coinbase hires the handicapped.

x2 What he says does not even make sense.

It's not about bitcoin Classic winning and Core losing, it's about moving to a world with many competing forks. Competition drives progress

I thought this was some sort of act to rally the masses for his agenda, but maybe he is just that clueless about Bitcoin.

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
bad or not bad,Coinbase is used by the most US bitcoiners Smiley

I agree. And Wal-Mart sells a lot of smartphones. But they don't tell Apple and Samsung how to design them. Kiss

~

Companies like Coinbase and Circle need to stick with retailing, and let core focus on design unmolested. Retailers should retail, miners should mine, and core should develop.

Or they could contribute back to the community like Red Hat, since they have $100 million to run a business built on FOSS that other people wrote for them.

They might just get that chance... and the GPU mining section might get a lot busier too.  Wink

If altcoins and "pump'n'dumps" are "legit" ways to make a load of cash, then this could be considered one of those ways too... lol.

That's like saying if "webpages are legit ways of publishing content" or some other such nonsense. Bitcoin was only the beginning. And "Altcoins", for anyone that doesn't know, are not all created equal!

Yes, there are lots of shitty webpages, but you shouldn't group them all into one barrel. There are some REAL serious contenders being built.

How would that even work? The idea simply doesn't make any sense.

an active fork that is not dropped by consensus or meeting protocol rules is deemed an altcoin if it continues to coexist along side the main consnsus chain for a long period with no sign of orphaning.
so im not sure he means fork in that chain forking meaning..

if he means a different bitcoin client program that still does the standard protocol rules.. but the GUI has some fancy features like an addressbook to allow users to send via username (secretly converted back to bitcoin base58 at tx signing ofcourse) and other fancies user side features that dont impact bitcoins chain.. then they can go ahead and charge customers to use their GUI..
