All of us, of course, understand that building a bridge was a political move on the part of Russia. But if you take the politics aside and see with the eyes of a common citizen. It is very good to be able to move very quickly and comfortably to another continent without spending a very long time as it was before.

Washington saw in this event not only an attempt by Russia "to strengthen the occupation of the Crimea", but also an attempt to "prevent navigation" through the Kerch Strait

A huge plus of the bridge saving time and money for the ferry crossing, now access to a good rest has become easier. Huge respect for the erection of this giant. I am very glad.

I am an Ukrainian. I got to say that I am absolutely not glad that this bridge exists. This bridge reduces the chances of the Crimea returning to Ukraine. The bridge was built illegally. Also, according to experts, because of too narrow passages between the arches of the bridge, the vessels that will displace more than 18 thousand tons will not be able to pass into the Azov Sea and will not enter the ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol. Honestly, I hope it will be destroyed or smashed one day.

bridges are always good they reduce the costs of transporting goods
Bridges are good if they were built legally. The Crimea bridge was built illegally and  annexation by russia was illegal. Soon, there will be new sanctions over those companies who have built this bridge and I hope these sanctions will be severe. I don't care about transporting goods to Crimea from russia, I just wanna Crimea be completely blocked.

who is to decide about illegality and legality? in my oppinion clearly the economic wellbeing of the population, not some nationalistic powerhungry freaks desires for power and influence.
If it was legal, could you tell me how many countries consider Crimea as a part of russia? It has nothing to do with economic reasons. Crimean people never declared that they want to be a part of russia until russian propaganda came out in 2013.

i dont mind actually as long as the people have access to the internet they can chose the stuff they read, weather, suffering from ukranian or russian propaganda makes no issue, then.

for me its a bridge and a bridge decreases transaction costs making people richer, and thats the most important thing. i am always pro economic value sources.

amount of countries doesnt matter actually, what matters is economy, as we are in a digital gloablist age, ukrainians and russians should learn englisch

Aren't they just trying to help the people living there? After Ukraine cut the water and electricity, blocked the passages for the trains, the Crimea needs the bridge and everything coming with it. At least the prices will drop for food and supplies, as someone said before.

The Kiev junta seems to be a confused lot. On on hand, they are saying that they want to re-integrate Crimea in to Ukraine. And at the same time, they are imposing embargoes and sanctions over Crimea. Not the right way to win hearts and minds, if you ask me.

If you do not mix politics with any question, then the goal of any bridge is to connect. Someone may see in this a provocation, unfriendliness of the Russian authorities, yes, anything in principle. But if you remove the glasses of hostility from your eyes, and try to do better what you can do better, the world will only add. It's nice to see that most people on the forum see this.

Greetings to all, today I saw the news that Putin opened a bridge to an  Crimea.

I want to hear your opinion on this moment. I'm Ukrainian, I will not tell you my opinion. I'm just interested in the opinion of citizens of countries that signed the Budapest Treaty - the United States, Great Britain , Russia (I do not really hope for understanding).

P.S. excuse me for my bad english ...

why not bridges are usually good, they remove borders, decrease costs for transportationetc.

Yeap. We all need to get rid of borders and learn to love eachother. Although Ukraine is somewhat in control in russia, atleast it'll be more peaceful.

Any bridge is a union. This simplification of movement from one part to another. And this bridge is no exception. I believe that it will be very useful for people living there.

It’s a big event for Crimea citizens, the bridge was built in extremely short period of time, and it’s gonna turn into symbol of union between Russia and Crimea.People from Crimea and the rest Russia are so happy about it as it will solve many problems, earlier tourists from Russia had to wait whole day for their turn to get by ferry to Crimea, now we can easily go there by car.Tourism will give a new impetus to development and economy should raise.

The bridge will be hugely beneficial for the people of Crimea, who are suffering from the blockade imposed by Ukraine. The cost of food items and medicines will go down, and it will be easy for the Crimeans to travel to the Russian mainland. Just told my opinion, and don't want to bring politics here.

Guys, but do I really have such bad English that no one: a resident of the United Kingdom or the United States can not express his opinion on the policy of his state in this matter.
P.S. Or are you so ashamed of your government, which is just silent and repeating the mistakes of history?
