Ok thank you. One last question. Are you the original coder of this? If so do you work with hive on their projects or is it that you just continue on your own project just with hive helping you out here and there?

Yep, I started Bridgewalker and have been the only developer on this project. Now I have joined Hive and will be working full-time with them, focusing at first on an Android version of Hive. So Bridgewalker will be a bit on the back burner for now, but there will hopefully be some opportunities to integrate it into the Hive ecosystem further down the line.

Kk and the APK is the latest stable? Where can I get beta? I like to stay ahead. Cheesy

Good to hear! ;-) It's the latest released version, which currently contains all the latest code, there is nothing newer. There will probably not be any specific beta releases. You would have to build from source yourself, but I'm doing releases pretty quickly after new code is developed, so I do not think that's really necessary.

Thanks. Does it download part of the blockchain, or is it via a server?

It's via a server.

Thanks for reminding me, I had meant to put the APK somewhere online. Besides getting it from Google Play, you can now also download it here: https://www.bridgewalkerapp.com/apk/bridgewalker.apk .

Oh ok. What I'm saying is possible but would require you to have servers which would make hive somewhat of a online wallet which is probably something you don't want...

Yeah we're going with a more decentralized model for the foreseeable future.

So now its a part of hive right? Will we be able to "connect" to out hive on our desktop and send money wirelessly?

Something like you suggest sounds like a big security risk. Probably they will be separate wallets with common goals.

Jan is an absolute legend in the community. Many will recall his early successes, including InstaWallet and Bitcoin Monitor. We could not be more excited to have him on board. Together we will build an extremely user-friendly Android wallet and extend our app platform into the mobile space.

I am excited about the acquisition of Bridgewalker by Hive and am looking very much forward to joining the Hive team. I will be focusing foremost on bringing the Hive experience to the Android platform. Nevertheless, Bridgewalker will continue operating and I am excited about exploring this approach further with the help of the Hive team!

Hive for Android's public repo will open in early January.
