It might very well be Bitcoin. Electricity market doesn't usually see high fluctuations, so a systematic change like Bitcoin will push prices up.

Lol there is absolutely 0% chance this is due to bitcoins. Like not even in the ballpark of material energy increase.

In the future when every household is mining it'll be possible...  Grin

Just wait until this happens in America, Obama won't be happy (large scale mining isn't exactly environmentally friendly)...

They can always try mining, or charge your electricity bills in bitcoins.
