Do you think the 8 people who voted "Yes" read/speak English well enough to understand the question?
"Do you believe having an accused pedophile on the TBF board is an excellent idea for the advancement of Bitcoin?"
Yes = "excellent idea"   Huh

Yeah, I was wondering that as well. It's either non-English speakers that wanted to vote (because who doesn't like clicking buttons) or people trolling.

....
Can somebody explain to me again how an accused pedophile wanting to take over Mount Coxs and be an erected board member of The Bitcoin Foundation will advance Bitcoin to the mainstream?

...advance Bitcoin to the mainstream?
The plan is either to stain BTC or move pedophiles into the mainstream.
Are you OK with the plan?

"Boss, da plan, da plan!"

Meanwhile, look what I found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmaRTZpJgPA

A parody of the founders of Digital Entertainment Network. DEN was "a quintessential example of the excesses and lack of control of the dot-com craze."

Surely, we don't want to read in the future a similar description:

A parody of board members of The Bitcoin Foundation, a quintessential example of the excesses and lack of control of the Bitcoin crazies who, in their infinite wisdom, embraced a pedophile as their spokesperson to further their cause.

In re. the poll, 'No' is leading 3:1.

NSA: Hello, son. Is your dad home?
Son: I'll go get him.
Dad: May I help you, suits?
NSA: We noticed you voted 'Yes' on an online poll. Care to explain outta earshot of your son?
Dad: He's not my son. Chad here wants to be an actor some day. Chad, go hide in one of the seven bedrooms, and I'll try to find you in few a minutes.
NSA: Is that anal lotion I smell?
Dad: Actually, it's Ben Gay. I have a carpet burn.

Speaking of butt-hurt, I'm sure a many VC are still wondering when they're going to see a return on Playsino: http://techcrunch.com/2012/04/19/new-funding-in-tow-playsino-places-its-bet-on-social-casino-gaming/

Under its new moniker, Playsino will look to leverage its traction in the tournaments and virtual rewards space and double down on another emerging vertical: social casino games. Ambitiously, Playsino is setting out to build “the world’s largest social gaming casino platform,” and is naming a new CEO to help lead the way. Brock Pierce, who will be the startup’s CEO, is the managing Director of the Clearstone Global Gaming Fund, and a serial entrepreneur, having founded eight companies and acquired 30 more in various capacities.

Pierce played an early role in the development of virtual goods, founding Internet Gaming Entertainment (IGE) in 2001 and Zam in 2003. In addition to new leadership, Playsino is also announcing today that it has raised $1.5 million in venture capital as part of an ongoing round. The investment was led by IDM Venture Capital, a Singapore-based venture capital firm, Pacific Capital Group, Siemer Ventures, and a number of angel investors, including Jordan Simons of GCP and Wicks Walker of W4 Ventures. Existing investor Tomorrow Ventures also participated in the round.

- I can also guarantee you without a doubt is Brock is a lover of women (so much that I fear that it keeps getting him into trouble).

...

One of the few pics of Brock Pierce seen with a women was with Autumn Radtke (also seen with Sir Richard Branson): http://dailyentertainmentnews.com/wpgo/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/autumn-radtke-boyfriend_thumb.jpg

Could it be her passing is connected to the crisis-ridden bitcoin currency following the collapse of the Japanese-based Mt Gox exchange last week?

Ms Autumn Radtke shared her work troubles during lunch with a business partner on Feb 25.

Early the next day, the 28-year-old chief executive of Singapore virtual currency exchange First Meta was found dead on the roof of a ground-floor rubbish collection point at a Cantonment Close Housing Board block.

"She was clearly stressed," said Mr Steve Beauregard, who had lunch with her. "She talked about... challenges with the business and I was trying to help her address some of her issues."

He had rented a room in her office-home at nearby Everton Road.

...

Ms Radtke, an American, had told The Straits Times in January that First Meta was not a bitcoin exchange, although it accepted bitcoins as payment for virtual currencies like those used in some games.

Mr Beauregard founded Singapore bitcoin payment platform GoCoin, which helps First Meta.

Brock Pierce is a 15x entrepreneur best known for pioneering the market for digital currency. He has raised more than $200 million on behalf of his companies and led more than 30 acquisitions. He is currently a Managing Director of the Clearstone Global Gaming Fund and sits on the boards of IMI Exchange, Xfire, Playsino, ExpressCoin (easy way to buy Bitcoin), GoCoin (Bitcoin payments), FGL, Spicy Horse Games, KnCMiner.cn (Bitcoin mining), Robocoin China (Bitcoin ATMs) and the Mastercoin Foundation (Bitcoin meta application layer).

I wonder how many KnC Miner bitcoins from their 7,000+ mega-phram passed through First Meta.

Brock Pierce might be smart, sure, but that doesn't mean he's a good person.

He lived in a house for a number of years with a group of people that were known to drug and rape young aspiring actors, most of which were teenage boys. He eloped to Spain for a number of years with the others after the heat was starting to get onto them. Oh, so he was never friends with the Rector guy? So then why did he run off to Spain with him and his friend for 3+ years?

If that doesn't throw up red flags, I don't know what does, lol

It's obviously an issue of ego and pride for Mr. Pierce.
If he had a strong desire to advance the image and application of bitcoin, he would see how much damage these types of allegations will hurt the advancement of the bitcoin community, even if it is all completely false accusations.

http://two-bit-idiot.tumblr.com/post/84919314429/brock-pierce-says-hollywood-reporter-claims-are-bogus

Quote
Pierce told me that the sexual assault claims were bogus and that he never fronted for any business or worked with Collins-Rector in any capacity after their initial venture folded.  ”I’m not his friend and I haven’t interacted or worked with him in years,” Pierce said.

Yet, after DEN folded up shop, two years later Brock and Chad were apprehended, along with Rector's rectum, in Spain for...wait for it...

Eventually, a number of these acolytes would file lawsuits alleging they were raped and/or sexually abused at M&C by the three cofounders. Their charges are remarkably consistent—all claim they were bullied and drugged to coerce sexual compliance, and in some cases, threatened with loaded guns. When the plaintiffs filed civil suits against Collins-Rector, Shackley, and Pierce, the three suddenly disappeared with what remained of their fortune—turning up two years later living in a villa in Spain. They were arrested by local authorities, who uncovered "an enormous collection of child porn," according to Spanish police reports. In their absence, the plaintiffs were awarded default judgments in the amount of $4.5 million, but have collected only a small fraction of that. And while Collins-Rector is living it up in London—taking his young friends to lunch at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Claridge's hotel, according to the Sun—Pierce has recently been lauded yet again as a New Economy genius for his role in a fast-growing Internet venture that's drawn praise from the likes of Fortune and CNN.

Brock Pierce says Hollywood Reporter claims are bogus.

Quote
Pierce told me he has no plans to withdraw his name from consideration for the Bitcoin Foundation’s board.  But given the current fragility of the Foundation, and the importance of ensuring that its new directors fare better than its recently departed, I would be shocked if Bobby Lee and Vinny Lingham (who were first and third in the initial vote) failed to win the open board seats in the second ballot due to this new development.

Quote
As another industry exec put it: “If those accusations are even partially truthful, imagine the additional damage that could be done to the Bitcoin Foundation by just one investigative journalist looking for a scoop.”

Pierce will (and should) squelch any untruthful rumors circulating about him, but I doubt many other corporate sponsors will prove willing to take chances in electing a new director who could attract yet another round of potentially negative headlines for Bitcoin — however defamatory.  Instead, the voters are likely to recalibrate and align behind another qualified candidate.

Quote
More bad press would be just as distracting to these organizations as it would be to the Bitcoin Foundation.  And distractions and headache are about the last thing that Pierce himself needs as he and his partners focus on winning over Gox depositors and bailing out the exchange.

For those not sure as to how to vote, I offer up this: http://web.archive.org/web/20060208124607/http://www.fuckedcompany.com/den/

What say, you?
