anyone know if it would be possible to modify the kradminer for scrypt based alt coins?

unfortunately I don't have the skills for that but i have some friends that i work with who might be interested.

Where'd the krad miner go? This would be awesome to bring back before the ASIC take over the mining market.

฿itcoin: Currency of Resistance!
I'm resurrecting this post to just update anyone who still remembers Krad Miner. It was the first WebCL miner, and it worked pretty well. Perhaps the only web page that actually made you money just by being on it Tongue I had shut it down after only running about a month because I was getting DDOS attacks and had to many other projects to deal with that. I offered to open source it for a payment of BTC, and was contacted over and over but no one actually paid. Finally someone stepped up! I was paid 50BTC a few weeks ago, and here is the link to the forum post about it:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/tumen-miner-webgl-miner-56047

Post there if you have questions or comments and we can let this thread die. The code as is really needs work to be adapted to a well oiled site, but it is a working prototype.

Yesterday I received some BTC I can't assign to a specific sender, my last guess is they are the missing BTC I mined on your site, if so, thanks a lot!

Hi there,
I just read about bitcoins two weeks ago and after reading further I found your site that made an easy start for mining for me, it is sad that you had to stop the service, but I understand your motive.
But still I wonder if you are going to pay out so far earned bitcoins? I mined a few days and got like 0.07x BTC but never was paid out to my set address 1CogZhSNXto1ja18aZB4zMgeqQxovF4MRU
I'd very much appreciate an answer from you, your kradminer made me a bitcoin supporter Wink
Have a happy day!

Interesting.....
Great job!

I've been using Krad miner for about a week now and it works perfectly on my Windows 7 64bit ulitmate. I have a ati radeon 5570 1GB vid card happily working while I browse the internet on other tabs.

One quick question...do we need to have the bitcoin client open during mining?

Thanks.

Nice website. 47 MHashes with my GTX460 card, almost the same as Guiminer.
Too bad that all OpenCL miners are causing 100% CPU load on one core.

This is truly evil.

But I mean that in a good way.

Thank you!

Ok, there was about 25~ or so address's that made very close to the cutoff before the last difficulty change, and then the change happened and they didn't get paid. So I just paid all of those addresses off. If they had just mined a little more after that change they would have got paid.

There is three groups of users from what I can tell, people that make about .01 to .20, that email me about how great the site is and that they are mining with there sisters laptop and they are saving up for a radeon or something. Folks that make about .5 to 1.5 , and folks that make alot more. Never hear much from those last two groups, to them I just wink into the darkness, keep calm and carry on.

I installed and enabled web GL and WEb CL (I think) but when I run it,It says its running but is stuck on running yet with :"Mining Rig ATI RV730
0
MHash/s

0 KHash/s

Running"

I don't kno what im doing wrong.my mac has an Nvidia GT330M GPU.

Please help me get this working.

As a grizzled veteran of the internet, I can't think of another site that can honestly make this claim. Funny its my site that can.

I don't post records / addresses and such to maintain the pseudonymity.

Since you gave your address I will say, On my current to-pay-out list I show that address as being owed 0.06

There is a large number of 'stale' shares from it, which seems to be a problem only with nvidia on linux, It might be a problem in my code however, and I think it only happens right at the start of mining.

The payout counter should not have ever shown you 0.15 however.

Let me know what it currently is telling you however, I will make sure you get paid, making sure the whole thing is operating correctly is more important than 0.15 BTC to me.

Thanks,

I couldn't get this to work with my second card even though I can select it in the drop down menu.  I have three possible selections in the menu (cpu, 5770, and 6950) but only the 5770 will actually start mining, the others just sit there with 0 mhs.

This was as of last night, and I left my 5770 mining overnight.  I'll post again when I check on it later today.

I think this is a pretty cool idea and I hope you continue to develop it Smiley

Currently its PPS and I will pay out anyone who makes more than .05BTC in 24 hours from now.

I tested this with 5770 and it works well in WinXP and Win7 64
but I made more than 0.05 more than a week ago and never got any payment

Works under RedHatEL5 with Quadro FX 3500, getting ~38MHash/s.
But same for me, mined 0.15 within the last week and also got no payment. Hope kradminer isnt fraud Angry

Yeah I think there might be a certain niche for this that would be something like flattr where you could donate to certain groups etc rather than just try to mine for your own, since if you just have one computer with a moderate radeon it might not amount to much for you, but enough people doing it for this or that organization would really amount to a decent chunk. I'm open to suggestions/ideas on how best to implement such a thing.

Worked nicely ..  all tho 100HM less then main phoenix client.

Still not sure this idea is worth it for consumers.. there would really need to be many at lowest rate not to impact Functionallity fully invisible. It just takes to long for anyone wanting a quick fix. They'd get to bored and give up. That's why it could work better for Team/Guild MMO Web games.. IMHO

I'm currently using my laptop (Quadro FX 1800M, NVidia) on Windows 7, and it works like a charm. Averaging around the ~10 MHash/s, which is pretty good. DiabloMiner gives me ~13 MHash/s on this laptop.

The hashrate is a bit underreported, and might bounce around a bit however, but now you can just ignore the page and go about browsing.

Very interesting.

Combine the client code with a plugin that streams video and earn a dime or two for every 2 hours a client watches. Time to call YouPorn and make a deal.

I'm only on YouPorn for 3-4 minutes, then lose interest for some reason. 2 Hours?!?

30-45 minutes for me. Cheesy Oh wait...

I can't really say why it would not work under those two systems. I've only tested on Windows 7 64Bit / ATI and Linux 32bit Nvidia.

I'm going to open source it today of the interested parties can put together 75 coins.

What license would it be open sourced under?

Good to discuss on the other thread.  For my part of the bounty I will accept any widely-used open source license, MIT, GPL, etc.  GPL shouldn't really be controversial for this because the source code goes out to the browser anyway, but either way I'd be happy.

There is no need for kickstart or whatever it's called.  Just post on my bounty thread and if enough people commit to the bounty, it will be paid once an open source WebCL miner is available.  Bounties have been done here many times before and work nicely.

No one person has the incentive to pay you 500 BTC to open source your code. But if you set up a project at kickstarter.com and requested $4500, a lot of people might chip in a little.  Then, take your $ and buy BTC.  Better yet, let's get kickstarter to support BTC-based projects.

I updated kradminer.com with the following:

Open Source

The people demand it! But will they put their Bitcoin where there finger is? I will open source Krad Miner for 500BTC. All BTC above and below this amount fund my continued work on the XMMS2 project (Video) and other projects such as my network FLAC and CELT streaming programs.

damn, it won't be long until this gets embedded onto every website.

Well right now it needs a pretty specific Firefox extension; but as soon as WebCL hits the mainstream browsers release builds - chaos will ensue!
but imagine web-servers, powered ... by client machines/viewers PC's !! Tongue viewers-driven, not by HUGE/expensive server in data-center Tongue
its like trolley-bus'es or electrical trains :-P
cuz there LOT of appliations for both WebCL and OpenCL -)
