How old are we talking? I own what I believe is the most powerful password cracking cluster for pre v2.8 electrum wallets.

i have just found an old electrum wallet with Bitcoin in it, what is the best way to brute force the password?  i sorta know what it might be but nothing i have tried is working...... Angry
It is best to check coins in that file before wasting your time discovering the password.
Also instead of giving the entire wallet data to a third party, I suggest you use ---->https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover/blob/master/docs/Extract_Scripts.md  (test password without having full access)

1. Btcrecover. You can start by reading the tutorial.
2. WalletRecoveryServices. You will have to pay up to 20% fee If they manage to crack it.
