Keeping your BTC balance secret really is a good idea. By telling others how much bitcoin you have, you are opening yourself up to potential attacks as people know exactly how much they have to gain if they are successful in stealing your coins.But I can tell you that most of what I have has been put into altcoins,

Keeping your money in altcoins however is a horrible idea and outweighs your above good idea as alts are more or less worthless.

I have 2 bitcoins and they are secured in a cold storage wallet, I won't trade them.
My holdings change every two-three months because I am trading them mid term, but at the moment I have about 0.7 btc.
Have 1 now, going to buy more soon if the price is right.

I still have my XMR which I bought ages ago. Still not seeing legit gains. Of course I had to buy in the middle of the first bubble, fucking bad luck from hell damnit.
Members who post regularly on forum probably don't hold that much btc.

A lot of early adopters prefer to use biticoins rather than to hoard them. After all, that's what it's all about. Bitcoins are worth nothing until you use them, and if everyone hoards them, they will be worth nothing.
it's better to use them directly though, not through fiat
I admit at the minute I never keep more than 1BTC in coin... I don't think tis bubbling yet but when it does I have a lot of fiat ready to be converted...

Noone with large stacks of crypto wont come out and say their true value of holdings.
But its interesting to see that the amount of holdings converted in USD remains about the same, while in BTC it goes down more and more.
I myself have only 2 btc that i keep no matter what, everything else i sell, since i cant gamble with big sums, i just dont have the patience and nerves to do so.

Any bitcoins I get are from the primedice campaign lol. I usually try not to spend too much on things so around .1.

I agree with others that you should add BTC amounts into the double and triple digits. I'd be interested in knowing how many respondents have big volumes of coins (potentially from the earlier days).
