My BTC balance is a secret  Grin

But I can tell you that most of what I have has been put into altcoins,
the majority of which is Monero (XMR)
Keeping your BTC balance secret really is a good idea. By telling others how much bitcoin you have, you are opening yourself up to potential attacks as people know exactly how much they have to gain if they are successful in stealing your coins.

Keeping your money in altcoins however is a horrible idea and outweighs your above good idea as alts are more or less worthless.

i doubt that only 3 person have more than 50 here, where are all the early adopters?

A lot of early adopters prefer to use biticoins rather than to hoard them. After all, that's what it's all about. Bitcoins are worth nothing until you use them, and if everyone hoards them, they will be worth nothing.

it's better to use them directly though, not through fiat

Hi,

I know it has been done in the past. I'm in this game a year now. Saw a lot of posts that the majority of member don't have more then 1 btc. Because I'm a noob and I have more, I was just curious if it's still accurate Grin

Noone with large stacks of crypto wont come out and say their true value of holdings.
But its interesting to see that the amount of holdings converted in USD remains about the same, while in BTC it goes down more and more.
I myself have only 2 btc that i keep no matter what, everything else i sell, since i cant gamble with big sums, i just dont have the patience and nerves to do so.

Smart investors would cash out and reduce the holding while the time is still good. Dump one will increase the position when time is good and only cash out when time is bad.

Your vote is not effecttive, i think you should add :
1. between 0 - 0.001
2. between 0.001 - 0.005
3. between 0.02 - 0.05
4. between 0.05 - 0.1
5. between 1 - 2
5. between 3 - 5

you should ad this, because lot member have less than 1 BTC  Grin
they usually got BTC from signature-ad campaign / giveaway / faucet / small trading / altcoin vote

but, i still doubt who will vote honest if they have more than 1 BTC Huh

none right now, waiting for price to go lower before accumulating them. Will buy few every $50 drop from $450 downwards..
great strategy! It will lower your cost of BTC you are holding. But there are a few people who have faith with and BTC and patience.

0.1 but how do i vote

You may need to have more activity (beyond Newbie) to access the poll. However when others open the thread the poll is accessible immediately at the top of the thread discussion, above the original post.

I agree with others that you should add BTC amounts into the double and triple digits. I'd be interested in knowing how many respondents have big volumes of coins (potentially from the earlier days).
