RIP Mommy
I got a bunch of *besttoken.xyz* spams too. Where can I report them so the senders receive the death penalty?

There's a website called:

http://haveibeenpwned.com
It said that this particular email of mine is associated with 1 data breach.

Of course, now that site has my email, so that's two places that it has now been used.

It searches via email address to check how many times an account has been referenced in leaks connected to known security breaches.

I'll probably make new email accounts eventually and do away with old ones which were compromised.

From searching my own email it was connected to bitcointalk, btc-e and tumblr leaks.   Undecided

Rest in peace, BTC-e. You can't now change password and turn on 2FA since U.S. slaves stole our BTC-e money.

Actually, that's not the case. The site was brought back online on btc-e.nz. Password reset is mandatory and resetting 2FA is advisable. It is definitely them, because people have been reporting for a week or more now that they are receiving their refunds (55% of original funds).

I know because each email address I use is different. I made the account probably back in 2012 or 2013.

So did the owner sell the addresses to spammers after the site was shut down by the feds? Or maybe the owner is trying to start some new service since the spam is Bitcoin related.

Are you sure that your email address was never used anywhere else?

The email address associated with my oldest account (registered in 2012) was leaked in the database hack a few years ago. On that account, I did receive a BTC-e phishing email 1-2 weeks ago, which claimed to be offering refunds from the site. However, I did not receive any phishing emails on accounts that were created in the last ~ 1 year. I would have to check when I get home to see if I received anything today, per the OP. I suspect that my email box will be empty on the more recent accounts.

TIME and WAVE COINs TO REMEMBER
BTC-e was a second big shock faced me since closure of Mt. Gox but i always believe the way to justice is not that easy perhaps it can't be reached withing 1-2 century, that why i like the idea of decentralized exchanges where you can trade while coins still under your control in owned wallet . so i vote for TIDEX & might be a successful story in the coming 20 years .

So the email address list has now be sold to spammers?

Uhh, how did you even know that all the email addresses that were receiving spam was indeed email addresses from btc-e? This could have just been coincidences that they were receiving emails because those addresses were also registered on another online site that got compromised or sold the addresses to whoever needed it?

Are you sure that your email got stolen from btc-e? You might have used same address that you have used in btc-e in few other sites from where it got leaked. Crypto targeted users are quite valuable these days also their contact details is valuable to advertise some scam ICOs. Might be one of the site where you have registered using your personal email have sold your address.

Or maybe they got hacked?

(P.S. Bitcointalk got hacked a while back too, so if you are using the same email address here, it might be spam due to that).
