I think the goal was to discipline the litecoin community and all of its righteousness. By shuttering their exchanges a goal that serves the greater purpose of the attack is achieved. Certainly it throws water on the theory that it is a profiteering grab by BCX- why kill the exchange if you want to fork, pump and dump?

So let's make this clear, it takes one blowhard asshat to declare that he's "gonna hafta 51", and the exchanges start shutting down to hell ?

I guess some of the goal of the attack has already been achieved, even before the attack has begun. 50% of the exchanges that traffic in ltc have shut down in anticipation!
