BTC-e in the past has also temporarily disallowed USD deposits - though sometimes if you chat with them they would still allow them even though the policy was technically no.

I am sure they have a problem with their bank. Their bank must have cut them off for this reason or another. Why the hell else would they need 7 days to update their banking wire transfer informations.
7 days is long time. They will lose quite a lot of money in these 7 days. I believe this is a way number one for customers to fund their accounts.

I guess this is what you get when you are operating as a semi incognito exchange.

Now i think things cleared over here. I was also suprised to see thread at first but later i came to know it is only for wire transfer which is also temporary. I am using perfect money there to deposit USD.

they haven't released an official news notification on their site yet, which is a bit weird. usually every important change will be visible on their front page.

Instead they officially tweeted  Cheesy

How about their BTC withdrawal? I do not use BTC-E but always keep only small amount in exchange just in case.

plus they have been shady lately .. stating that they cant do fiat withdrawals from the bank they used, and have to use another one, but the commission for that transaction is 2x more than before.

has anyone else encountered anything like this?

Isn't this because of the new laws on BTC in the US (at least some states).
