I don't know the answer to your specific question. However, I have noticed that there are issues on Cryptocoincharts as of late.

If you look at the historical data on NMC/USD you'll note that there's no information beyond the last month. If you select 3-month or 1-year, you still get the same 3 week span. Note that I'm using BTC-E as the source for data. It seems to work OK when selecting other exchanges, but not many trade NMC.  I've tried tweaking the link parameters, but that doesn't fix it. Maybe it is a BTC-E issue?

Take a look at this:

Take note of the volume bars, particularly the last 10 or so. They are showing >500 and even >1000 BTC of volume for each half-hour slot the graph depicts.

Now take a look at this:

This pic shows the actual volume as recorded by cryptocoincharts.org each hour. Way, way lower.

Every time the volume at BTC-e takes a jump, the orderbook is flooded with hundreds of tiny transactions, like so:

Now, you tell me. Is this a bug? Is it manipulation to make it look like BTC-e has good volume?

Can we trust their volume bars?
