You were so worried about banks that you forgot about the Gordon Gekkos out to make a quick buck. The problem is that modern day Gekkos run fully automated trading bots that do all the work so they don't even need to watch the market. Problem is that as their greed grew their cautiousness dwindled so buys and stop losses got closer and closer to the market price. Once an automated stop loss was hit it probably triggered a massive sell off with other bots hitting their stop losses. Lesson here is don't allow lazy ppl to use bots for trading. People do the same thing in Diablo so they can transfer game gold into real cash through the auction house. Maybe Gox and other trading platforms should get with Blizzard to see what they have for bot control. ...Plus I want my troll box back. Luv that damn thing even though it doesn't do anything for me.

ya that's my thoughts at the moment,

they are not answering any support mails, and with all "records" wiped and not thinking to "print" screen of my transactions. Very easy to deny ever sold any BTC at the high and have USD owed to me..

It would seem, in past week, bitcoin has really gone to shit.

Big shame, as this kind of nightmares will destroy bitcoin in the public eye and the rothchilds, bloomberg etc get exactly what they want. THREAT ELIMINATED.

Personally, I have been wondering what the banks response to this BITCOIN MANIA would be and how they would handle such a serious threat to their power base.

I think we have seen it, disrupt all areas of bitcoin, exhanges, forums, crash it then use the media to expose the "INSECURITY" of bitcoin and get the "your money is safe with us" slogan back out..

god damn it !!..

Why can we not set up an exhange is Europe that is secure ? hell, how many people on this forum ? real experts etc surely WE could set something up ?

Beats me, what has happened in the markets today really shows that hackers can wreck havoc.

You're  probably right. Once the price goes down, anyone holding large quantities has a lot of incentive to blame hackers and retire into the ether.

Hi,

I am assuming I am not the only one who has been caught up in whatever has happened at BTC-E.

All my USD gone and no records etc.

Personally, I belief is currently that whatever "technical" issue took place or attack, is being as used as the excuse to wipe all transactions and clear BTC-E debt. As the crash after all the heavy trading would of left BTC-E with $10000's.....to pay out. Why not let the attack, "wipe it all out"

you thoughts or experiences please.
