when you send a donation via SMS, half of it goes to the network operator... now you can easily do the math... you have to be crazy (or selling useless stuff like ringtones) to accept this kind of payments
How would it work? If I have a PAYG sim that tops up at a corner shop what would happen then? I don't think it'll work unless there's full verification with papers as otherwise there is nothing stopping you using someone else's phone.

Do you realize that even if you find some legitimate service of that type and you won't get scammed fees of the SMS buying/paying services are insanely high. You will pay more than 1/3 of your SMS cost as a fee to mobile operator. If you would buy that way you will lost some money in a process. So avoid this at all cost.
