This week we are ending all games and refunding each and every bet. Please refer to the front page of btclottery.com for updates and forthcoming proof of each returned bet. We hope that within a week's time we will be able to bring you an exciting new bitcoin lottery experience with bigger weekly action and bigger payouts than we have ever had before.
We realized this week that since we started this site in May, there has not been a winner in 2 of our 3 games. Neither the Match 2 or Match 6 has paid out, and each week only 2-5 bets are made. This can hardly be called "action" and the bitcoins are just sitting there yawning. So we decided to end these games, and overhaul the system.
Starting within a week we will be bringing you a new pick-3 game, similar to the pick-3 games in most US state lotteries. Here is a brief rundown on what to expect from the games, (be aware any or all of this could change before we re-launch):
- Each Week, our target block will be the first bitcoin block that begins after midnight EST every Monday morning. For example, if block 123000 is the first block to be solved after midnight on monday morning, then our target block for that week's drawing will be block 123001.
- The draw number will derive from the target block's hash number. The last three decimal digits in the hash number will be our draw number. For example, block 123001's hash number is 00000000000020bc3da483fd21f92f69eba87698826759d72bdf30e980da1f61. Thus our draw number would be 1-6-1.
- Each player's ticket number will derive from the transaction number from the bitcoin transaction that they send their bet in. Their ticket number is derived the same way the draw number is derived. For instance, when someone sends in their .1 btc bet, if their transaction number is e84d76630f7381a18ea678757a38fbe97ed4e3708f6a3dfb53f54219bd715d02, then their ticket number is 5-0-2.
- Each ticket number will be played for every prize possibility (Match 1, Match 2, Match 3-strait, Match 3-boxed), however if there is a winning ticket, only the largest applicable prize will be paid.
- Prizes will be paid out from lowest to highest.
- After each prize is paid out, all remaining tickets will be voided, and the remaining prize pool (if there still is one) will be seeded toward the next drawing, which will have it's own betting address.
- 2% rake.

We take this venture very seriously, and really don't want to be closing any games down, but we feel it's become very stagnant, and feel this new game/method will bring more action and bigger prizes to the site.
