What wallet?  Where did you purchase them?  What bitcoin address were they sent to?

i am using electrum, purchased from bittylicious.....address sent to was 1EMbNbCy7Xf45SN6tzSCVmG5zLgU7GmmTH

 Huh

It looks like you are probably talking about 2.9 BTC sent with this transaction:
https://blockchain.info/tx/4211509bdeacb24351790a2c43a45b4e384179954be1d631dc11836227e54c21

It already has over 500 confirmations, so it should show up in your wallet.  Sounds like you are having a problem with Electrum.

You might want to try asking for help in the Electrum sub-forum:

hi,

kind of new to this whole process; my 1st bitcoin purchase went smoothly, received them after an hour. however I purchased some bitcoins on monday night and they are still not showing in my wallet! Huh

any help would be greatly appreciated.

steve
a lot depends on the size of the transaction and if you paid the .00000000000005 fee (which allows the transaction to go faster).  But you'll need to provide the PUBLIC address these were sent to (at least that) to get any reliable information.  Every transaction is public on the block chain so hopefully it's visible (ie: wasn't sent to the wrong wallet address...).

Note the standard fee is 0.0001 BTC per kilobyte (not 0.00000000000005 since it is not even possible to subdivide bitcoins that far).

In some rare cases, if you're using Bitcoin-Qt, you need to rescan the blockchain. Do it by starting bitcoin-qt with parameter -rescan

I'm not sure if this is why, but some services require more confirmations so it might take longer for them to show up.  Confirmations sometimes happen quickly; other times they go slow.  I know on localbitcoins, sometimes it takes like 5 minutes and other times it takes an hour.
