Anybody know how to find out from bitcoinwisdom.com,under mt.gox,  or any chart for that matter how many bitcoins were PURCHASED
each day up to say the 1st of febuary?  separately by day.

Also what is the red, the green the blue?   There is no legend.

thanks!

The only reason MTGOX is letting people trade during their withdrawal halt is because they make fees on each trade (both sides of the trade).

It is bullshit in my view. They should halt trading as well.

Well as long as people want to trade and they know about delays it is not a crime :-)

I'm relatively new to bitcoin but have been reading and trying different cybercoin for several weeks.
My question is what Mt Gox advertises as BTC price and volume in the last 24 hours.

From bitcoinwatch.com, here's a snipet as on 5 minutes ago

Market   Last   Volume (24h)   Bid   Ask   High   Low
mtgoxUSD   287.6258   86,773.51   301.80   306.58   540.00   220.29

How can Mt Gox advertise a Last price or a volume if they are shut down?  It seems to me reporting their prices isn't good for Bitcoin.

MtGox is working.. Maybe not correctly but it is working.

And for now they have best price to buy - but I suggest you should not deposit any money @ MtGox or maybe you want to buy some GoxCoins, then it is ok Smiley

MtGox aren't shut down so I think you would need to rephrase your question.

If your question was more like, "How come MtGox can even quote a price for bitcoin when they are not allowing bitcoin withdrawals and the price they do quote is hundreds of $ lower than any other functioning exchange?"

Then I would have to answer, "yes, it's pretty screwed up, but that is what happens when you allow trades to continue for days under those conditions. I don't think that anyone sane thinks it is a good idea, but there is no one who can force MtGox to either properly shut down or else allow withdrawals again. Their price cannot be considered as representative of bitcoin."

Or is your question different to that?
