BTC rally:  1

But seriously...  Wtf is going on?  Is this finally it..?

I don't know what you mean by "it", but I mean I think this was fairly expected. It was pushing at resistance in the 7000s the past few days and it was either going to get rejected and head back to 7000 or break through it and do what Bitcoin normally does when it breaks though a resistance zone, shoot up, to well over 8000. It did that.

Now the question is where does it go from here? Keep pumping over 9k or even over 10k? Or correct back down to hit that previous resistance zone in the high 7000s. My guess would be, even if it pushes significantly higher today or in the next couple of days, it'll at least touch back under 8000. But overall outlook is bullish, I think May will see 9000s and 10,000s.

Lol.  It's 'expected' til it's not.  That's why I was asking if this is finally it..  Which looks like it is.  I hope.  Grin

Now the question is:  How high?

After some great performance over past week BTCs rally has stopped which means it is struggling to go over $7.8, while most of the analyst revealed the price will reach till 10k if the rally continues like.
Well nothing is permanent in this market specially prices so yeah btc rally stops for a while but after a week starts again hen stops so what i mean here?that volatility is there and proves how healthy this market is right?with the fluctuations and growth we can determine that we are in legit market and investments.

The resistance looks like the value may go till 8k or it will drop under 7k, however we have to hold our assets and wait for few more days.

Maybe you are wrong?because it stays at 9k and slightly drops at 8k but just for a while and now rallying to 5 digits again in which all of us wanted to remain as the season of growth is coming days from now.

Market always behave this way. We should not expect consistent up and likewise consistent down. Traders always takes profit time to time and that always creates stagnant on market directions.

As you can see now, in the last two days bitcoin is going up, as always before splitting. Although the price stopped slightly a few days ago, in my opinion it will still go up above 11k. The rally will continue.

From last 2 days we have seen it rising really well and now reached 10k levels and momentum may continue and it is better if it rises slowly and steadily rather than a sudden rise and then a sudden fall which could be like a crash and more people will get into panic mode and starts to sell leading to more fall happening to it.
A 16% increase in the price of Bitcoin over the past week is quite a good indicator and we have almost touched $ 10,000 and I am sure that this trend will continue And Bitcoin will exceed $ 10,000 Perhaps even during these days.

Today we are again in above $9,000 actually 9,200 to be specific going good to reach that
10,000 target at least before the Halving happens next week(if will come
earlier because expecting to be on may 11 2020.but anyway i am not into 100% expecting
because i known that Pandemic is here to hinder the bull and make the
market suffer for another month or year.
$10k is ain't possible as the market tried to push itself. I know Bullrun is quite far from happening this time but it was so glad to see that the market maintains its market flow above $8k. The market keeps swinging and that really we can't tell what next. It's full of the thrill and that is the point why I not longing into that volatility and easily get affected.

Not the best time to sell bitcoin pre or post halving until it reaches five digits in my opinion, we are entering bullish cycle, we should hodl in my opinion.

Just imagine you selling after the halving in 2016 and then eventually at the end of 2017 it reaches all-time-high? Someone will regret their decision if they sell even at $10k when we reach before and after halving.

I cannot agree with that because if someone really needs money, and he doesn't have any money, he can sell it with the price now. And now, we see bitcoin price can increase higher, and back to $9200 level so if he bought bitcoin at below than $9k, he will make a good profit. But that only happens if that person cannot manage his money and go all-in of his money.

What you say is true because I think some people don't sell their bitcoin at the end of 2017 when the price reaches all-time-high. After all, they want another high price. They can regret that moment, and now, they are seriously waiting for another moment of bitcoin price to reach a new all-time high. They don't want to miss the chances to sell bitcoin at a new ATH.

Bitcoin staying at $9k, isn't it something we like to see, why are we always in a hurry, if bitcoin will dump and we will then panic, no... please just relax, let us enjoy the journey of bitcoin and the fact that it recovers, this tells us that anytime it could start a bull run.

Speculating every single movements of Bitcoin doesn't really matter when we're talking about holding and trading long term after all we will going to hit that specific target, only that nobody knows when.
I guess the very purpose of speculating is to hasten the possibility of hitting that specific target sooner. So, I guess you're right, some people are always in a hurry.
Wherever the Bitcoin price goes, there's always a corresponding speculations about it.

Even if they are holding for long term, they are still in a hurry, some holders might panic, when the price is rising they tend to forget how to sell but when the price is dumping, that's the time they will think of selling, that's because they panic, reason they will fail.

Because people are expecting to much when suddenly the price rise that's why their hands got tied when they see a good movement coming, and it's normal scenario since we actually experience this things even if we are experience traders.

But what good thing about the happening is we are learning something good with the experiences about this.

i guess we will see another hype before the second week of May because thats the expected day of Halving and the expectorant are looking at this days forward.

After some great performance over past week BTCs rally has stopped which means it is struggling to go over $7.8

I looked at this event as follows:

imagine that there is a very weak fire, you want the fire to be too strong to be able to see better, but you have little wood and you would not be able to make the fire strong, so you hope there are more people who have wood and then you fire your wood at the campfire and when other people who have firewood see that the fire is getting stronger they will throw more wood so that the fire gets stronger and everyone can see better, that's what happened with bitcoin

while most of the analyst revealed the price will reach till 10k if the rally continues like.

these analysts always fail. when they say the price will reach $10,000 then be prepared because the price will go down, when they say the price will go down a lot, so be prepared that the price will go up a lot

The resistance looks like the value may go till 8k or it will drop under 7k, however we have to hold our assets and wait for few more days.

What would expect, bitcoin to pump until it reach its ATH? That is not healthy, it needs time to reach that far so that movement will not be called just a FOMO again. Bitcoin touched $9K already before it fall, that's big enough, and in fact bitcoin again touched $9k now, and let's hope this will bring another uptrend.
I guess $8900 is strong support for bitcoin, we will see its price going to increase again soon, technically will be like that. But we have to realize that the important thing to make bitcoin price increase is not pure about technical analyst more than that we have fundamental analyst which I think that is really affectinf to bitcoin price movement. Negative news are spreading we will see the rapid dump comes and otherwise when we a good news is spreading. Until now, we haven't seen those things and you are right it may needs time because bitcoin is not a megical thing.

There is need for bitcoin to retest the 200ma on a daily chart before the next pull run. Currently the 200ma is now above 9000 dollars and therefore your forecast may not be out of place. The pullback is going to have short life as bitcoin is going to get above $10,000 before halving.

Bitcoin is going to increase, and there is a big chance to hit $9k again. Hopefully, the price can jump higher as right now, the price traded at $8,953, and it still going to go up to the higher price. There is a war between the buy order and the sell order, but the trend wants to go up, and I hope that what we expect can happen in the next few hours.

If the price can be back to $9k, then I think that can give more chance to continues to go up, and perhaps, the price will reach $9,100-$9,200. Well, it's a big moment for bitcoin to go up again after the price is at a low price. I am sure that many people are waiting for another high price to sell their bitcoin.

Realistic goal compared to those fellas who do keep speculating the price would reach up 20,XXX+ or even more digits before they would sell out but to think that to those people whom do able to buyback on 8400 price are definitely making money as of this moment which we are already on 9k point. This do pertain or talk for short/active traders out there. Selling out will vary if you are going for long term or just short term,
if you do see greens or positive then its isnt bad to consider on selling out for profits. The main important thing is to utilize upcoming events of sentiments for you to place a position that will potentially
benefit you out.

I thought that Bitcoin is not going to go close to 9k - not even so fast.
However, the resistance of 8k was broken and it reached this level. Now, it is nearly 9k - there is a lot of resistance at this level, already 2 days and we are on 8.8k but as the halving event is coming I think that the price is going to go a little more higher.

Have you already bought Bitcoin when at $ 7,000? if you buy it, of course you can feel the benefits now, an increase of $ 2000 will make you get a lot of money with just 1 day, hopefully resistance at $ 8900 can be passed, because the current tren line resistance is there

what many people don't realize or maybe they have forgotten is that price was already on the rise and price was above $10k before the world economy started falling apart and caused a lot of fear that led to bitcoin also dropping.
so all those who say they are surprised about this current price should really take another look at the charts before COVID-19 and see where we were. it is not even that long ago.

The longer the consolidation, the higher the rally or the parabolic move that may happen. It is good to see that the price of the bitcoin manage to breakout in a dynamic resistance which is the 100 MA that also indicating a major resistance. As long as the price stay above the 100 MA we should expect that it is a sign of bullish and there will be a continuation.

What would expect, bitcoin to pump until it reach its ATH?

And what else will those who experience BTC as a pump/dump scheme expect? They obviously expect the price to go up by $1000 every day, and that it will be repeated every day until it reaches their imaginary price. What they completely overlook is the fact that price is a product of supply and demand, and that some people sell while others buy.

It did surpassed the price of $7K and right now conquering $8K and might reach $9K this week.
I think it would reach $9K this week

Looks like you didn't actually wake up, and you certainly haven't looked at any price data these days. I see on some exchanges $9500+ yesterday, and even today price is very close to this level.

I think it would reach $9K this week, I don't know what is happening but I think people are acknowledging the presence of having and its future effects in the price of Bitcoin. It is also said to might have a correction before the halving but the price is continuously going upwards, and I think that might continue at the gate of $10K.

What kind of "pausing" is this? Right now the price is over $8.8k, how the hell is that any pausing? ......
.......

there is no such thing as paused but btc never stops moving  . it could be higher and if not then it would be decreasing   .  the price did not pause earlier but it did fell down   . the rally was disrupted there but i believe the price can recover again and continue to break the 10k usd levels   .  i did check the price or my btc wallet and im happy with it despite of the recent drop    . that would be better than no increase at all  . atleast we can still somehow sell with some extra profit

I would understand the OP a bit because he wrote literally at the start of the rally so maybe he just didn't checked the prices before he wrote, but right now we are literally at the midway section of a rally, how the hell did none of you checked what the price is and wrote without checking it?

Bitcoin is doing fine, it would probably even go higher because there is no resistance that is closeby, which means bitcoin price realistically go over $10k as well, just has to push a bit harder but it is definitely easier compared to us going from 6.9k levels to 7.7k levels, that was harder than going above $9k from here on out. Hopefully some of you may check the price and be happy.

After some great performance over past week BTCs rally has stopped which means it is struggling to go over $7.8, while most of the analyst revealed the price will reach till 10k if the rally continues like.

The resistance looks like the value may go till 8k or it will drop under 7k, however we have to hold our assets and wait for few more days.
https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-rally-pauses-near-7-8k-after-longest-winning-run-in-8-months
And it did break resistance yet we are almost hitting 9k price at the moment and these kind of movement behavior is just really a random thing.
Im not really into those analyst or what so called predictions by other people yet a simple technical analysis would already tell you on possible
paths on price might able to go it might not be precise but at least we do have our own basis rather.I dont know what you mean about pause
because price can tank from time to time and the next movement will really be in a matter of time.

But seriously...  Wtf is going on?  Is this finally it..?

Some old school BTC bulls I follow (like zoinky and dmwardjr) think we've entered the next parabolic bull cycle already.

I'm a bit more conservative, sticking with this scenario as my preferred one until proven otherwise:

Now the question is where does it go from here? Keep pumping over 9k or even over 10k? Or correct back down to hit that previous resistance zone in the high 7000s. My guess would be, even if it pushes significantly higher today or in the next couple of days, it'll at least touch back under 8000. But overall outlook is bullish, I think May will see 9000s and 10,000s.

There's a couple ways the triangle idea could play out:

  • We could see a shorter term (3-6 weeks maybe) bearish correction off $9K-$9,300 and then consolidate down to the $6K-$7K zone, before rallying to $10K-$11K to complete Wave (d).
  • The market could simply complete Wave (d) now into the halving, before experiencing a mid-term (multi-month) bearish correction.

BTC and the stock market are still moving in lockstep, so they will likely reverse together too.

On Coinbase Pro Bitcoin hit $8988 a few minutes ago, now it fell back to 8700s. Wouldn't be surprised to see it fall back to the previous resistance of high 7000s this week to touch back on that resistance/support zone. It might also push over 9000 today though. I sold my last bitcoin trade at 8930, now waiting for a drop back to mid-low 8000s or high 7000s to buy back in for next round of trades.

Lol!!!!, just after the day of posting this Bitcoin suddenly rallied upwards up to 8,300$ which makes the author really not to be trusted with.

This happens with most predictions all the time, you finally think you saw the right price in a dream written on a leaf just between the unicorn legs, you rush t post a tweet or write a blog and by the time people start learning what you've written, it's already so wrong everyone is laughing at you!

If somebody would ask me right now what the price would be tomorrow I would say between 5k and 20k but I would still not be willing to bet my house on it.
Trying to predict the price with less than 5% spread, especially in the short term and in this time, when everything is a mess and base it on some Mayan secret analysis is the bulletproof way to make a clown out of yourself.
If you throw a wild prediction nobody would laugh at you but when you come with all those graphs and charts ....

I'm starting to think that this guy working for CoinDesk is something not to be trusted with since he is just making worthless post after post.
You're still in doubt?

Bitcoin now trading above $8.65K (Coinbase rate). Approx $300 bumped within 10 minutes I was checking price that time. I have doubts on BTC movement from last day until today. Although it's not new for bitcoin but likely halving FOMO is working. Still my mind don't allow to believe it as a real bump, otherwise might encounter small pull back from this zone. By the way, current movement of bitcoin has proved OP's thread title (LOL).

On one occasion yesterday I told someone if at least 8k will be achieved in the near future and now we even see this increase is greater than imagined and also, I am sure this rally will continue to penetrate the next resistance, who would have thought this great recovery would occur in the midst of a pandemic and before the halving event because it will at least make a more significant increase.

I guess bitcoin still rally to break another higher price, and right now, I am happy to see bitcoin finally can break $8k after we wait for a few days. But these situations still unpredicted because there is no sign of bitcoin that can still increase or not, so we need to be careful for more. We can prepare our money just in case there is a drop in the price so we can buy more bitcoin later. And now, it is better to enjoy our profit while we can before the price makes an adjustment of the price.

The author, Omkar Godbole, is actually the ones who thinks that the deflation that USD is facing is "good" for Bitcoin. It seems that the rally ain't stoppin at this very moment. Bitcoin is sitting at $8,100. Now, you set aside your worries about the rally because there might be an continuous upward movement that's going on.
This is going to sound bullish for the other people, specially now that there are only days away from the block halving.
This is also a sign that the pandemic has only made a minimal impact towards cryptocurrency.

I actually thought it would end yesterday, for the short term, but this now ensures the winning-day streak goes on (already the longest streak in 8 weeks). Quite ripe at 8.1k right now and I won't be surprised if we touch 9k today going at this intensity with US markets yet to wake up. Of course, they could just as easily wake up and decide to chomp down on quick profits, relying on China/Japan to pull the socks back up again tomorrow.

The rally seem to be on as the price have jumped over $7800 to close to $8,000. I see more highs in price before halving hitting the market. Price is likely to keep going high at the moment till the end of this year. Therefore, it is a time for buying more btc .

But things are looking different very right now. Markets looks very positive now as it seems rally continues still he big physiological resistance around $8k levels is needed to be broken for ensuring the rally toward $10k levels. In my opinion $8k will work more stronger resistance level than $9k because when bitcoin trades around $9k, traders are assuming bullish in full action whereas bitcoin trades around $8k or $7k, they may not assume which (bull or bear) is more stronger; This is how physiological resistance/support levels are working.

Once bitcoin will be able to break $8k levels and sustaining above $8100 levels then we can see quicker jump toward $10k levels as traders and investors will get ready for full swing bullish mood. I guess it is right to assume the current market situation is too critical for restoring the continuation of rally rather than it is being paused.

These technical analyses are repetitive. When bitcoin will cross $8,000 then they have to tell that it should cross $9,000 or else it will drop to $7,000 - $6,000, etc. and so on. That's how they look and analyze bitcoin these days.

Just a cycle and they effectively affecting us.  Grin

Basically its rising on low volume as you can see by the charts and this is pretty bearish. Its also in a huge bear flag. And to add to that its close to the $8000 supply level which took us to almost $3K. So it seems like a textbook short.

However this is bitcoin so it obviously won't be that easy. We might come to like $7950 and drop, or go to $8000, trap a few shorts and then spike to $8100+ and drop or simply go straight to a new all time high of $20K due to the halving.

Nobody knows what will happen. Just wait for $8K rejection and trade it off that, don't blindly enter the short there like people did in early 2019 shorting the $6000 area.

Not necessarily, but rather the end of the resistance level, and therefore it is difficult to rise more than that, in fact exceeding 7800 barrier means easy access to the next levels, which means an increase from 6000 to 10000 which is more than expected under the current circumstances.
Don't forget the recovery period from levels below $ 5,000, so BTC rally has happened Tongue Tongue Tongue.

Who says so? Low volume? and why $10,000? Why not set the next target of $8000 and see how it goes?

Well that resistance might be the support for all we know and push the price to the next levels. We have seen green candles for the last 6 weeks or more already, and not just because of predictions of some so called experts, we can say that it is slowing down. Bitcoin market has so many surprises.

You know that the BTC’s currency price path has fluctuated for a decade!!OP It will definitely continue this way, so we will see more volatility in the near and far future. I think after halving the market growth will improve for the better so don't worry Angry Always focus on the desire of the international community to obtain assets

BTC has increased and decreased in the years 2019-2020 to this day there are no surprises in the prediction of BTC rose to $ 10k for this year we will see whether the whales would manipulate the price as last year the largest bitcoin holders will get what he wants bitcoin as a toy on the market price can be controlled bitcoin for this year bull run there is still a long way to go to achieve a rapid increase in the market this year.

It did touched $7800 isn't it, although it was for a brief moment and currently, it is still in the $77++ range. I think that next barrier though should be $8k before thinking of 5 digit figure again. I'm sure everyone knows that we're like 12-13 days before the next block halving so this might be the reason why we are entering this sort of bull-run, but just don't get too excited though, still a long way to go, everything here is not set in stone.

It is holding a major resistance level which will now decide whether BTC breaks out upside or crashes down. Higher are the chances for a pullback though because a new bottom for this year is yet to be set by the traders (and to make longs lose billions in a few moments), so stay very attentive towards the markets and don't tell me that I didn't warn. I see this time to have a higher (opposite) probability of showing exactly what we are  not expecting at all, and then the real boom will start.
