Hi guys,

CoinGate team is happy to inform that we have enabled the option to buy Bitcoin with Mobile Credit!
So now you are able to buy a few Satoshi by calling or sending SMS to a premium number again. This feature is perfect if you'd like to buy a small amount of bitcoins, more or less worth of $50.

For the first turn, we have introduced buying Bitcoin with Mobile Credit in 19 countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

For the nearest future, we are going to expand this feature to other countries and allow to buy other cryptocurrencies with this method.
However, we would like to note that now we are asking users to register and verify their identity before making a purchase due to security reasons.
If you are interested to get to know more, you can check the guide on our website: https://coingate.com/buy-bitcoin-mobile

Best regards,
CoinGate team

I believe theres none. But you can still try to find one. Is there any local wallets available in your country? Im from Philippines and im using a local wallet. I can buy bitcoin through this app. If theres no available locat wallet in your country. I think you should go for exchange. Buying through sms is no a good idea. Scammers are everywhere dont you think? Exchange is more safer than buying thru sms.

How many Philippinos are there in this forum? I have already seen several who declared that they are from the Philippines. I believe the majority in this forum are now coming from outside the US.

For OP, question, maybe he should also try to give localbitcoins.com a look. It is not close to sending Bitcoins thru SMS but he maybe does not want to deal with the exchanges or he cannot send funds to them. Most require a wire transfer or an ewallet. Something the unbanked has no access to.

There's a way. If you were in the Philippines.  Tongue
I've tried it out before and it's not really a direct way but it works.

It's limited by country and the network provider but the fees are okay since it's usually less than $1 (about $.60 overall)for every transaction.
1. Phone credits for a Globe sim.
2. Must have a verified account with Gcash.
3. Go to Gcash app and convert phone credits to Gcash credit.
4. Buy bitcoin from Coins.ph using the Gcash credit and that's it.

It may seem a hassle the first time but, it's helped me out several times when I needed some bitcoins in the middle of the night and can't go to a 7-11. Phone credits can be easily bought from any store near me, so it's just a matter of converting them.  Grin

Theres none. Don't bother find one. Thats very dangerous also. Why anyone would transact on a stranger by just texting? Why not go for exchange? Localbitcoin for example. Its more safe to buy on exchange than buying just by texts unless you know that person. Probably you dont know a person to buy some bitcoin because you create this thread. Just buy on exchange. Thats your only option. Its a hassle to find a person near on your place who are willing to sold his btc.

i don't recommended to buy bitcoin via sms because there is not secure for us to spend our money to buy, its better you use an exchanger or buy bitcoin with third party so you can manage your money and watching the transaction. if you can online with you handphone, then you can trying to join with an exchanger and then you can buy bitcoin directly.

Not secure to use sms text messaging from your cell phone. There are ways that people can be receiving those texts if your on an unsecured wifi connection. That is if your using sms apps on your phone.
I would think that cell phone text messaging would be more secure.

Yep,something like this.
I am from Croatia, i cant see Croatia on country list.
Yeah probably not, but I would not look any further for ways to buy Bitcoin through SMS, since you're going to pay a lot of fees compared to buying them via wire transfer or even CC.

I've done some research and it's probably not even possible to buy Bitcoin via a Croatian mobile provider.

I am suggesting not to try any non reputed methods to buy bitcoins. Why not you use localbitcoins services to find local seller to buy from them just paying fiats. It is so simple and cheaper than trying with your mobile.

If you plan up any new services for buying bitcoins through sms, we are all here to appreciate that, yet there would be many practical inconveniences rather than the necessary to use sms to buy bitcoins.

Indeed that is a way better plan its safe and you can really meet the person in real life and mostly have good fees with it too.

It would be profoundly risky, but you could send/receive a private key via SMS.
where?
That is the problem. You may need to have a lot of trust in the counter-party to do this.
But say you have a seller. S/he will need to be paid via some other route. Cash, a certified check, something. That will be the hard part because fiat currencies are hard to move and have a million rules. If you can pay them they could then honor their part of the agreement by sending you a private key as a text message. Look at the Base58 format example below and you will see that the key is just a text string.

Example: 5Kb8kLf9zgWQnogidDA76MzPL6TsZZY36hWXMssSzNydYXYB9KF

That key could be imported into a wallet and spent. If it is intercepted or the sender is dishonest the money could be stolen, so I highly advise not doing this. By far the best way to buy bitcoin is at a legal exchange in your country. Anything else is fraught with danger.

I don't think that's what OP is talking about.
He's probably talking about a service which allows you to send a text message or make a call and to buy bitcoin paid by your mobile credits.

I've known services like that in the past, but they all shut down. Mobile providers charge a lot for payments like this.

Edit: Something like this you mean http://bitby.co/ (I've not used that site, so can't comment on its trustworthiness)
