Any ideas? I have a wallet with 0.22btc, lost seed and password. Saw the value of the wallet increase through the years from $50 to thousands.. Should be an interesting artpiece right? Increasing value, yet so far away? Thoughts on this topic?
Sorry to disappoint mate but I don’t think there is any creative way for you to turn this lost wallet into an art piece. Do you want to sell a screenshot or something? I mean you could draw it but it would seem like you just took inspiration and nothing else.

I don’t think there is any way you can benefit from this poor wallet anymore. Such a regret but you have to accept that and move on.

IDK, op.

From my perspective, it's hard to tell if the encrypted wallet file genuinely has bitcoins or just used as a fodder to attract gullible folks. Over the years, I've seen many people buying and selling these wallet files with apparently forgotten passwords. I forgot the website/s but I swear, there's even a big dump place for these wallet files -- would be nice if someone could remind me lol.

If you still have the encrypted file, then you may possibly recover your funds. I don't know how it would happen, but you need to research a bit about it and contact trusted recovery services. As we know, without seed or private keys, it's impossible to recover your funds. So if you lose everything, you lose the funds as well. I am not getting what you mean by artpiece. No access to your wallet means nothing can be done with that.

If others think it is some digital art piece then I also think that it is also an information about lost bitcoin since the wallet address is no longer accessible due to forgotten password and lost password. I would also ask the question about what would you do about this wallet address or what are you going to do in order to make it into a digital art piece. I don't think it bring something else but you are right about the lost bitcoin that it can help about it's scarcity.

What digital artwork do you want from that inaccessible wallet? One thing you need to forget is that it's believed to be a mental health issue, I agree with others.

Is lost? Maybe you forgot that you saved them in several places separately. Please remember first where you saved the seed and password. Who knows, maybe you might have saved it somewhere.
OP has .22 BTC bitcoin from $50 to now worth $13,900 means he has lost his seed and password for years maybe a decade?
I'm not sure he would remember the seed and password that he forgot long ago.

If he will continue to track his wallet, that will definitely torment his mental health. So if there's no way to access that wallet because of lost keys, better forget and move on. You will only waste your time thinking about the what ifs. There's no need to create a digital art piece for this and for what?

No need for worrying about my mental state. I am well aware that the funds are inaccessible without seed and password. I was just brainstorming and looking for input to learn of it is interesting to turn it into for example an nft or whatever because eventhough the btc can not be used, simply the fact that they are out of circulation may somewhat contributed to the hype and scarcity we see today. Again, just brainstorming but thought it could be an interesting story to tell and who knows a nice hold for the right collector

Not your keys, not your coins. This is for cases like OP's. This is about our personal funds as key owners.
It's about how we are responsible for our funds and their safety. It's about how we decide to spend it.

If the OP doesn't hold the key at all, that means the OP is handing everything over to a third party like we use an exchange address. There we do not hold the key or seed. We are only given a password with an active email when registering. The coins there are not ours, but theirs (exchange).

As far as I know, the seed is a very important part of accessing the wallet.
If the seed and password are lost, then there is no idea of getting back the 0.22 BTC.

Sorry for your loss, but you should stop tracking the wallet now, it's not good for your mental health.
Had similar taught, when op had said he lost the wallet and now it has become an interesting art piece. A lot of persons lost access to their wallets due to carelessness or environmental disasters. But the truth of the matter op is that, you cannot recover your lost wallets and by watching it's value increasing, you will only cause health issues for yourself. So just ignore that you ever own the wallets to avoid being in such situations. There's no going back now.

Your first question is basically what I am asking our dearest members Huh Any ideas...If by proof you meant the keys etc. then yes that it is a challenge, but was hoping for some creative thoughts Smiley
There can not be any creative thought about this that can be related to how you can retrieve your seed phrase or keys that can let you have access to your coins. Ones the seed phrase or the private key is not accessible again but lost, your coin has already been lost also.

How do you plan to make this into an art piece? You do not have any prove that you own the wallet, so you will be be able to claim ownership of any artpiece that can be made from it, if it can be done.
