I knew it because i already experience it all the time. Whales are so selfish because they only think for themselves not for the sake of most bitcoin users.

Are seriously thinking that anyone else here is less selfish? Whales are no more selfish than the rest of the pack, they just happen to be extremely wealthy. Even those who hold Bitcoin for long term with the hope of a new brave future do that because *they* want to become new money, new wealthy elite. They don't give a fuck about you personally, your well-being, or even Bitcoin itself as soon as it stops being instrumental in achieving their goals, whatever the latter might be.

"They call me new money, say I have no class, I'm from the bottom, I came up too fast".

Exactly, everyone here is selfish and takes care of its own interests. You wouldn't act any different if you were in the wales position. But the world generaly is functioning that way not only crypto world.
You can't blaim wales for the fact that are realy wealthy and you are not. And you can't blaim them for destroying the market, they are not the only elements there.

Unfortunately, some people’s selfishness affect others. While their actions enrich themselves, it makes it unfair to others. But it’s true that we can’t blame the whales because almost everyone have their own selfish motives. In fact, a majority of the users here joined for the bounties and in a way their actions also affect the other users. The world is like that and it’s filled with selfishness.

How is it unfair? If Bitcoin is a zero-sum game (which it is), everyone's selfishness will affect everyone else. You can't have it both ways. It is either them taking money from or you taking money from them, as simple as it gets. Since they are the whales and you are not, that means it is them, not you who are earning profits. Indeed, you would think it unfair but this is how the world turns around.

Anyway, no one forces you to play this game.

It is impossible for rational thinkers to make sense of this market: Whales and pump and dump entities have destroyed it.
In addition BTC pairs are on the way out and will make BTC worthless.

I agree with you on a certain level,we see alot of pump and dumps done on bitcoin pairs altcoin and this can really destroy the market. However this won't last long, pump and dumps are only effective when the volume is low, when cryptocurrency market get bigger these pump and dumps won't happen anymore as they won't affect the price. You can't compare cryptocurrency to fiat money,as fiat money volume is really huge that the price is not volatile.

The whales are giving bitcoin life that I expecting pump and dump. In fact, before entering on bitcoin world's, you need to research the priced chart how bitcoin has volatility. Think positive always, bitcoin have the risks capability but if you are a holder maybe you can gain more profit.

Come on man!
You're posting so much nonsense at the moment.
The whole crypto market is so small and whales are pumping and dumping the coins since years!
And what happened to Bitcoin's price over the last couple of years? It went up! If you don't know how to play this game, then stay out! Or just buy and hold a few years!
And the last sentence, Bitcoin becoming worthless, is either pure frustration cause you aren't making any bucks, or just wishful thinking for whatever other reason.

Bitcoin growth is depends on demand and supply so someone is major role in Bitcoin dump and pump. It is normal hype in Crypto market so whales are not involved in current scenario. If you think Bitcoin is not a worthy platform you just quit our participation because many believers are waiting in outside.

Pump and dump and the whales are the reason why we do make money from this market and without they activities we could have been standing still in term of pricing.  The whales are the mover and seckers of the market and without them no market has been successful in the history of humanity.

They are also the reason why we loose sometimes because some of us dont have a choice but sell even if the market is down due to the reason that they badly need money .

I knew it because i already experience it all the time. Whales are so selfish because they only think for themselves not for the sake of most bitcoin users.

same as pump and dump groups because these kind of groups are only intented to pump and dump a specific coin .

Crypto market shouldnt work this way because many inoscent people are being affected by their bad activities.

Are you a long term holder who is stuck with expensive bitcoins and who lost all hope of breaking even, ever? I understand your pains, but let's face the reality. 1 bitcoin is still worth over 7k dollars. How many coins do you know which would be as costly, fiat included? Pump and dump is what gives life and vigor to this market. If you can't cope with that, it is essentially your inability to live with or live up to that.

Also, any market may seem irrational, but it is likely just your rational that is not quite on par with the market's.

I really don't agree this opinion piece. We, as markets, created this situation altogether. We made bitcoin mainstream. Whales played their roles as well. Try to look at image with full history: 7000 dollar bitcoin isn't dead price.
Btc is too good to be dead, and I think Whales are just doing their job to pump and dump the market but it doesn’t mean they ruin the whole system of bitcoin. Whales are also a trader so they just take this opportunity to make more money but in the long run the price will still soar high because of many people believes on bitcoin.

When a new coin is out in the market most people are not caring about the problem the cryptocurrency is projected to solve, but they keep on asking when the coin will moon.

Well said. Currently we're dealing with an insane number of gamblers not knowing what they invest in -- they just think that because it's crypto related it has to go up one way or another. People keep calling this or that coin the Bitcoin or Ethereum killer, while they don't even know what that coin is doing. It's pathetic how wasted the 2017/2018 crypto generation is. It has become a trend where each next year stands for weaker minded crypto market entrants. The more of these average joes are finding their way to the crypto market, the more this market loses quality.

2010/2012 entrants are exceptional.
2013/2014 entrants are ok, but the infestation started here.
2015/2016 entrants are low of quality with little to no contribution, and the India & Co infestation spread itself even more.
2017/2018 entrants are the worst thus far.

Most investors see it as a way to make money. But we should understand that, cryptocurrency is more than the money we are getting out from it. When a new coin is out in the market most people are not caring about the problem the cryptocurrency is projected to solve, but they keep on asking when the coin will moon. They forget that, when a coin is being used for it  propose, it automatically moons.

topics like this are only created because price is going down (or has gone down). otherwise when price was rising nonstop last year and we had one of the biggest rises in the history of bitcoin (from $10k to $20k in 17 days) people like OP weren't complaining about how "whales are destroying the market". but now a 1% natural rise is a pump and dump!!!

Two pumps this weekend and market going up.
The Japanese will sell BTC Monday and ALTS will fall. Good luck bitch! This is a bear market. There is no confirmation otherwise!
what's the main reason for that.it's normal in every futures market, dump and pump.big player want to earn money as much as they can.so no worries about that.not only japan market partisipants.

In addition BTC pairs are on the way out and will make BTC worthless.

Really? how can you make sure it will happen, I think it's still a small possibility, I think no one will make Btc being worthless.
Well this will not end easily just like it is, buddy., do you still think that in front there will be the things that can push it being more better

Imagine a world where you join an exchange and change Fiat to USD Token, Yen Token etc and then buy an ALT: Game Over Bitcoin! It has already started and will accelerate!

The said tokens will not be volatile. Bitcoin will become a commodity: That is what it was defined as for the futures listings.

$100 rise is not a pump, it is not even a rise. it is barely a movement. it is only 1% change.
Not only that, it's a mistake to think that a whale is responsible for this.  It certainly could be, but it's more likely to be just normal market fluctuations and much less than what bitcoin usually experiences, I might add.  I'm wondering how long OP has been into bitcoin if this is making him decry all the whales in the world--while bitcoin is gaining, no less.

Sit tight and you'll see much greater volatility ahead, and don't blame whales for whatever happens.  There are a lot of speculators around, most of them not being rich by any means.  It's a cumulative effect from the buying and selling of everyone.

Some whales can pump bitcoin or dump it but can't change the market cycle, if you trade bitcoin then you are going to suffer from whales as they make it irrational as you say but if you hodl they will suffer from you.

Whales simply make waves in this market and eventually the waves will recede. Theyay influence pumps and dumps only for a certain time. One can either drown in these waves or ride it. And for most long term hodlers, watch it from a safe distance. They can't destroy the market since they're benefitting from it as well

This market is not attracting that many investors: Institutional money will not enter the market for a long time, many retail investors are leaving and some are entering the market. This market can not grow because there are not enough investors. BTC is in peril because when people buy in other pairs there will be no need to buy it: exchanges will make it easier to buy in using a usd token and then use that to buy alts and BTC will NOT BE THE RESERVE CRYPTO.

you are looking at things in a very pessimistic way, and it is true that we need institutional investors, but you should see that institutional investors will only come in when the regulations are very clear and banks are not creating barriers for the people they want buy bitcoin. If many banks and governments and even companies like Visa and Mastercard were not creating many obstacles for people using bitcoin, then today the price of bitcoin would be much higher and we would have many more investors entering the crypto world

BTC will die a slow death because of this.

bitcoin will survive, do not be too pessimistic

ETH will not suffer from this because many platforms are built on it. No platforms are built on BTC.

So you're campaigning to btc die and ETH survive? this is your true intention

Example: An entity buys an ALT and then pumps bitcoin. The Alt goes up and they sell the ALT at a profit and then they dump the bitcoin. This is one example. These guys are professionals and can do this any tick of the clock and it is so so so unpredictable.

Many people buy first BTC and with BTC buy altcoins and sell these altcoins to have more btc and hold btc. BTC is the priority for people and altcoins are a means to get more BTC

It's actually very simple;

If you can't handle this market, then why bother investing in it?

If you consider this market to be impossible to trade, then why bother trading it?

If the long term is the only thing you care about, then why bother with the short term fluctuations?

To me this market makes perfect sense. I don't expect anything from it short term speaking because I know how brutal and manipulative it can be. Open the charts and see for yourself how insane this market has been throughout the years; the only certainties thus far have been the bottom development and the constantly increasing price, everything else is just rubbish being the direct result of people's fear, greed, etc.

Whale manipulation was present since the very beginning, which means that by your logic the market shouldn't exist in current times.

Actually Bitcoin high price increases are attracting different speculators to buy Bitcoin.  Some of them then latter read and learn about Bitcoin and stay. Most when market settle down leave.  So saying high volatility is bad is super wrong. It is what made Bitcoin so popular that fast.

Bitcoin's movement is a trader's paradise because of its volatility. Well at least for those who are already familiar with the market but for those who are new to it, most probably it would be a disaster if they would trade using emotions. We know that cryptocurrency market is heavily manipulated that's why we should start with small amount to be familiarized with it and be able to read the movement of the whales so that we can ride with it.

There are too many average Joe's that quickly react to any change in the price of BTC, and this is what's causing such huge fluctuations

I don't think its the doing of an average Joe when there are pump and dumps of millions worth of bitcoin in just a single buy or sell. The whales are doing it but for us Average Joe, we cannot do something about it because it is the nature of the market currently. We can just try to think like them so that we can still profit from this market.

I agree with you about thinking like them but it is unpredictable.

Example: An entity buys an ALT and then pumps bitcoin. The Alt goes up and they sell the ALT at a profit and then they dump the bitcoin. This is one example. These guys are professionals and can do this any tick of the clock and it is so so so unpredictable.

So your prime thrust is that Bitcoin will become irrelevant as you can trade alts with other pairings?

It's a big factor in Bitcoin action, but I think we're entering a phase where Bitcoin's virtues become more obvious compared to the absolute emptiness of most alts. Bitcoin is the only one that's making a decent stab of actually being decentralised and nothing can hold the tiniest candle to it in terms of battle testing.

This market is currently pretty dead. The only entities populating it are bots and scalpers which makes trading irrational and pointless. Wait for the real people and go do something else in the meantime.

it all depend on our faith with bitcoin
Bitcoin is not a religion, so don't ever mention your faith with bitcoin. I guess it would be better if we would reword it as "believing in the potential for growth of bitcoin".
There are BTC pumps all the time: impossible to trade in this environment!
It ain't impossible to trade in this environment. In fact, that same characteristic of bitcoin is what attracts investors to invest in it and take note that bitcoin is not pumping all the time(it doesn't happen all the time). The movement we have now IMO is just normal volatility and it ain't a pump.

That's the main problem I think apart from media perceivance.

Bitcoin is being artificially inflated and dumped by these types of people to gain profit. Bitcoin should be left alone to grow normally, however it just isn't when the market is as it is today
