Everything is cool with BTC-E. They had a server attack and now theyre good.

Russian fucn government blocked BTC-E for Russian IPs. So if you guys try to access the site using Russian proxy or something, try to avoid it. For Russians there is a new site

btc-e.nz

You also can try it if you cant access the main site.

Is this anything new? BTC-E has been down many times before. It's not the most reliable service. If anyone holds a serious amount of coins there, they should seriously considering withdrawing what they don't consistently trade. Anonymous Russians don't exactly scream reliable...

been quite a while
any thread or news on this?

There is this post about it n the wall observer thread. I can't vouch for the reliability of the information in it but it makes it sound like btc-e is having some big problems. If it's right that people were finding extra coins in their accounts then I would guess btc-e is having database corruption problems. I couldn't find any other information about what's going on yet.

Two hours of btc-e offline and no one calling Gox 2.0?

Where are the trolls?

yup they are down big time. people were talking about how they suddenly had a bunch extra coins and stuff. weird. one guy accidentally missed out on a 70 million dollar trade he says. lets hope this strangeness goes mostly unnoticed while btc-e comes back up. otherwise we might be in for some rough waves.. ripple will be un-phased.. nothing affects those guys.

I found this tweet about it.

Sometimes they just go down, much like this site does. I wouldn't start panicking just yet but people need to learn from the gox fiasco because it's only a matter of time before another one dissapears.
I assume it will be a large Chinese exchange that is giving interest on BTC, that just scream GET OUT NOW more than anything. I don't play those games with my coin and neither do I want my exchange to.

I have some coins (frozen and cash) in this chinese exchange, I make the mystake to use, without take prior some information, and now, yes, I can also tell: Don't left your coins in a wallet! (I decide to deposit when I don't have any idea about exchange and scammers...)

Trusted or not trusted, 2FA or not 2FA, there was to many scam attempts in this field and it's crazy take money in this service.

About btc-e, for what I have understand, they are in a good position and with coin exchange they can continue to survive, they get good fees exchange, so far to going well and not attempt frauds.

btce is a very shady exchange. they never cheated in a big way but i would strongly recommend not to store your coins there!
