Folks, i have played in this game, and i can tell he is legit,

he refunded me after making the mistake of sending low transaction fees.

I found the btcGoldCoin good enought to play.

And remember it's luck,

but if you have any problem most likely is that blockchain or the server is down or your transaction didn't confirm fast enought!

Thanks man, I appreciate it!

Minimum BTC prices for winning silver have been drastically reduced, due to Bitcoin's surge in price! They are now as follows:

If the Gold Coin was worth:
.9999 BTC or less, the Prize will be a US 90% Silver dime
1.9999 BTC or less, the prize will be a US 90% Silver quarter
2.9999 BTC or less, the prize will be a US 90% Silver Half Dollar
3.9999 BTC or less, the prize will be a US 90% Silver Dollar
Anything above 4 BTC and I'll send you a 1oz Silver Round!

Remember, If you want to be eligible for the silver, please post in this thread, stating the name you used when purchasing the Gold Coin!

I would like to hear from loukoum on this matter as he is currently 'holding the bag' so to speak.
loukoum are you out there?

I will say this: I played the game and it was a great experience. I was dealt with more than fairly as my previous posts will testify. I do not think the site admin is trying to scam anyone.

Miner49er, I thank you for your vote of confidence. I understand where trepper is coming from. It is good to be cautious. However, I can't prove very much without the opportunity given to me.

If nobody is willing to trust me, then I am unable to prove that I am honest.

Miner49er, you know that I am trustworthy, however it is getting others, who have never played the game before to trust me. Therefore I have lowered the starting price of the Gold Coin from .5 bitcoin to .2 bitcoin. Due to a few reasons:

1. The recent price increase of bitcoin
and,
2. So that people who are just starting out will feel more comfortable playing.

If no one is willing to risk .2 bitcoin, then I will further lower the price.

This brings me to the question I pose to anyone willing to answer:  What is a good starting price?

I guess my point being is that:

1. I do not operate a scam.
2. I believe players should buy into the chain game that has the best odds, and/or the one that fits their personal budget/ amount their willing to risk, should some chain games become to expensive.

We will be happy to believe you, but we need some proof...
And, at this point, you claim a lot but you can't prove anything but a buggy chain.

If loukoum could sell his Gold Coin, may be we should reconsider Undecided

yeah, about that... seeing as they both run on the EXACT SAME PLUGIN, your statement proves invalid. Because of Blockchain being down, my chain game just had a purchase at the wrong time.

Funny enough, people trust "Bitcoin Gem" and play it a whole lot more than my game, even though they run on the same plugin, AND my game has an idle reset of 2 weeks, compared to 24 hours.

Creator of the bitcoin gem here, trying to clarify: The bitcoin gem is NOT running any plugin, it is coded and designed from scratch. Your site (and a couple of other bitcoin gem clones) are running a WordPress plugin called "Bitcoin chain plugin", which is a bold ripoff of the bitcoin gem – and obviously not programmed very well.

If you're asking yourself why people trust the bitcoin gem, here's some suggestions for you:
- Don't rely on the blockchain.info API. Use your own bitcoind server and you have full control. If your site is not working as expected, it's always your responsibility.
- Make everything provable fair. Unfortunately, using the merkle root to determine resets is not provable fair. I learned that too and switched to a better system.
- Check your transactions daily and refund immediately if necessary

I'm not a "nay-sayer", but if a game quacks like a scam and  works like a scam, I call it a scam.

You decide whether or not you'd like to risk buying into a chain game or 24 hour idle reset, vs. 2 weeks.

Indeed...
But why risking btc into a buggy (or scammy) chain game when there are provably working ones around?

I agree that it's not a good idea to risk BTC in a buggy/scammy chain game. However, since every chain game out there (that I've seen anyway) run off of the same plugin, you'd be taking the same bet (in terms of bugs) regardless of which chain game you buy into.

I guess my point being is that:

1. I do not operate a scam.
2. I believe players should buy into the chain game that has the best odds, and/or the one that fits their personal budget/ amount their willing to risk, should some chain games become to expensive.

We could banter back and forth about whether my game is good to play or not, or we can let the players decide for themselves, with the information they've been given. I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted. It's 2 in the morning where I am, and I'm ready to hit the hay.

I invite you to look at every other bitcoin gambling game on the web, and compare their odds with mine. I trust you to judge for yourself whether it's a good bet or not. To the nay-sayers, I pose a question:  Why are you into bitcoin at all, if you cannot trust "provably fair" games?

Obviously, Bitcoin Gem is a "provably fair" chain game, and your  GoldCoin a provably bugged one  Grin.

May be it's not your fault, but it's certainly your responsability...

the current price is most likely what is preventing a new owner.

I don't think so: 3 days ago, I've tried to buy it 3 times and I got a "Meh, Our bitcoin server is currently off, etc etc.".
Good for me!
Because if you look at the list of previous owner, you'll notice that the last transaction never happened (empty link to blockchain).

Look like a little scam, doesn't it?

The reason you were seeing that message is because my website utilizes the Blockchain API. They have been having trouble keeping their API up and running, hence the difficulties with purchasing the Gold Coin.

As for the empty transaction, this is because when the Lokoum purchased the Gold Coin, the Blockchain API was having some major issues. If you don't believe me, just look at Blockchain's Twitter account. That should prove that at the very least, they've been having issues.

Also, this game is no scam. But if you don't trust the proof you see via blockchain, then you shouldn't play at all. I take no issue with being cautious. If you decide the Gold Coin isn't for you, then I respect your decision. However what I don't respect is making a judgement on something, when you have no proof with which to condemn.

To the people who have contributed to the Gold Coin chain game, my sincere thanks. To those who have not yet played, I invite you to look at every other bitcoin gambling game on the web, and compare their odds with mine. I trust you to judge for yourself whether it's a good bet or not. To the nay-sayers, I pose a question:  Why are you into bitcoin at all, if you cannot trust "provably fair" games?

I was messing around with the Number of days before idle reset, but decided that it was unfair to change it in the middle of a round. So for now, it remains at 7 days Idle reset. after the next reset though, it will drop to 3 days. That may seem harsh, but it's much better than bitbears, bitcoingoldbar and bitcoincrown. They all have an idle reset time of 24 hours.

I cannot say enough great things about this game!!

I just wanted to post again to say that btcgoldcoin.us is an honest game and very easy to play. I sent a payment without miner fee, and subsequently the time expired before a confirmation was issued, so I missed the coin. I thought my money was gone, gone, gone. But, much to my surprise, I was refunded promptly. I had had my doubts about the legitimacy of this game, and was half-sure it was some kind of scheme.

But, after my dealings with silvergoldandbitcoin via email, I can say that he did everything possible to help me out, and got me my BTC back very promptly.
I have since played even more and not had any trouble at all. When you have the miner fee included in your payment the confirmation comes very quickly. (long before the time limit would expire). I have had smooth sailing ever since, and have played many times.

Great game! Great site admin! It is as close to a gauranteed money maker as you can come. And, even if you lose on a reset (miniscule chance, never happened to me), at least you get the consolation coin!

N00b_miner49er, thank you so much for your post! I find it sad that an honest game is so much of a suprise. I work hard for my online reputation. After all reputation is everything. Even though there isn't 100% chance of making money on www.btcgoldcoin.us there IS 100% chance you will be treated fairly.

Thanks again

"But how will you know who to send the silver to?" you ask.

Well, if you want to be eligible for the Silver Prize, then you must leave the bitcoin address you used to purchase the Gold Coin with, in a comment below! When the chain is reset I will look to see who the last person in line was, compare the address with those on this thread, and will then send a PM to the Prize Winner!

Actually there's an even better way to verify Bitcoin address ownership. Most clients allow signing messages with Bitcoin address private keys. Some users might opt to authenticate by posting here first, but for the larger prizes or for people who don't know about this thread it is another option.

I made a post on the website about this thread as well, but your idea is a good one too.

BTW I meant to ask you to PM me your address so I could send YOU a silver dime for the idea. I got mixed up with who suggested it to me xD

Sure, I'll send a PM in a bit.

are there any shipping fees for the gold coin and how long does shipping usually take

xD good one!

The Gold Coin is virtual. you buy it and then hope someone comes along and buys it from you. you should read all the info in the FAQ.

have fun!

This would actually make these games interesting. Adding the option of a "winner" receiving physical delivery of a precious metal item might actually attract people to this revamped version of Hot Potato.

Mother of God... Now THAT is a good idea!!

And the wheels start to turn...

Ok I've got a plan.  Haitispaceagency, can I send you a silver dime? You will be the first to get a prize! PM me with your address! And I will edit my OP to reflect the new rules, and rewards!

I don't know what kind of capital you are willing to put forward to differentiate your chain game, but Coinabul has rolls of 20 Walking Liberty Half Dollars. For higher coin amounts, the 1 or 2.5 gram PAMP Suisse bars might be worth it.

If you're spending this kind of capital though, you might as well look at building some other games and calling it a casino.

I don't know about a casino, but I do want to have as much fun with this game as possible! I updated the OP BTW.

I like this game. I have played a few turns and it is very easy. I made the 15%, its a no brainer. I had few questions and some minor issues. The admin was very responsive and helpful.

REMEMBER to pay the mining fee when you buy the coin. my client was set to 0.00 mining fee first time, which made me miss the coin(you only have 1 hour to get a confirmation,so PAY the fee)

With that said, I thought my BTC was long gone. But I got an immediate reply to my email (within minutes) from the admin. Got a rapid refund my coin with no hassles at all and was able to rebuy the gold coin. Site admin is very honest and helpful considering it was my fault for not including mining fee when I played ( it is plainly spelled out on the site). you can trust this site, and almost a guaranteed profit maker.

My vote :
1.  95% chance of 20% profit, 3 days idle reset

Thanks for the review Cheesy

With that said, I thought my BTC was long gone. But I got an immediate reply to my email (within minutes) from the admin. Got a rapid refund my coin with no hassles at all and was able to rebuy the gold coin. Site admin is very honest and helpful considering it was my fault for not including mining fee when I played ( it is plainly spelled out on the site). you can trust this site, and almost a guaranteed profit maker.

I've decided to switch up the numbers a bit for the next round of BTCGoldCoin. But I want your opinion on which one to use. Please post your vote as a comment.

The choices are:

1.  95% chance of 20% profit, 3 days idle reset
2. 92.5% chance of 20% profit, 4 days idle reset
3. 90% chance of 25% profit, 4 days idle reset
4. 90% chance of 30% profit, 2 days idle reset, 25% reset refund*

*This reset refund would be paid out to the on who reset's the chain. 25% of the final price before the reset is what will be paid out.
For example:  Gold coin costs x Bitcoin. Some_Random_Guy purchases the Gold Coin for x Bitcoin bumping the price up to y Bitcoin. But the purchase triggered a reset, so y*.25 will be refunded to Some_Random_Guy.

Also FYI the longest time between purchases of the Gold Coin so far has been 25 hours

are there any shipping fees for the gold coin and how long does shipping usually take

xD good one!

The Gold Coin is virtual. you buy it and then hope someone comes along and buys it from you. you should read all the info in the FAQ.

have fun!

Unfortunately I'm exhausted from this cold I'm just getting over, so I'm not quite sure whether you actually think I participate in the game.

But I should let you know, the whole point of the game is for someone to buy the Gold Coin, then for someone else to buy it from them, so on and so on. If the gold coin gets bought by someone, who cares who it is? The guy before him makes money, and so do I as the site owner. Not a whole lot, but still.

Anyways, you should check the site out and make some money off the Gold Coin. If you don't want to that's fine, just please don't leave what seem to be acusatory comments about something you aren't sure of.
(If your comment wasn't acusatory, my apologies, my brain is very tired right now.)

When will people learn that the last working chain game was the gold bar..

When people actually stop playing.
Correction: when you stop buying it yourself hoping others will actually buy it Wink

Hey guys, just set up a new site:

www.Btcgoldcoin.us

Go check it out!!

here's the gist of it:

Well, first off you buy the Gold Coin. When you buy the Gold Coin there's a 1% chance that your purchase will trigger a reset, meaning you lose your investment and the price of the Gold Coin goes down to it's original price ( .1 BTC). If your purchase doesn't trigger a reset then congratulations! You now own the Gold Coin. Now you're wanting someone else to come along and buy it from you, for the new price which is 50% more than what you paid!

So after you buy the Gold Coin go post about it on Facebook or Twitter! Go tell your friends! The more people join in on this game the more BTC people can make!

the odds of winning are 99% chance for a 1.4x payout!

*UPDATE*

As of now, there is a new rule/prize! If you are the last person in the chain before the reset (the guy before the one who's purchase causes the reset) then you are the "Prize winner" and depending on the amount the Gold Coin was worth, you the "Prize Winner" will receive SILVER in the mail! Here's the prize structure:

If the Gold Coin was worth:
.9999 BTC or less, the Prize will be a US 90% Silver dime
1.9999 BTC or less, the prize will be a US 90% Silver quarter
2.9999 BTC or less, the prize will be a US 90% Silver Half Dollar
3.9999 BTC or less, the prize will be a US 90% Silver Dollar
Anything above 4 BTC and I'll send you a 1oz Silver Round!

"How fast will you ship my Silver Prize?"

For most of the Silver Prizes (the prizes which I myself own, silver dimes, quarters and a dollar coin) I will ship them within 3 days of the chain resetting. For the Silver Prizes that I do not own, I will purchase on Ebay, then when they arrive I will ship them to you.

"So wait, other than the possibility of winning silver, what does this mean for me?"

It means that you have all the more incentive to share and advertise www.btcgoldcoin.us!

GOOD LUCK, AND BE SURE TO SHARE THIS SITE WITH OTHERS!!

UPDATE #2

I've played around with the numbers and here's they are as they now stand:

Players have a 2.5% chance to reset the Gold Coin, and every time the Gold Coin is purchased it goes up in value 30%, giving the previous player a 25% profit.

Meaning the odds are:  97.5% chance for 25% profit.

The Idle reset timer is now at 5 days.

FAQ:

What is this?

The bitcoin Gold Coin is an entertaining game, advertising opportunity, and a psychological experiment. You can think of it as a self-sustainingspeculative bubble.

Why should I buy the Gold Coin?

Who wouldn't want the Gold Coin? Not only do you get free advertising and profit when the next buyer comes in, but you'll look cool doin it too.

How/when does the price increase?

Each time the Gold Coin changes owners its worth increases by 20%, rounded to 4 decimal places.

Why does the Gold Coin reset at all?

If it never reset, the price would go up forever. While this can be awesome to see, it would leave one gigantic loser at the end of the chain. Like any other speculative bubble, the Gold Coin has to collapse at some point.

When does the Gold Coin reset?

The Gold Coin resets in a completely random manner and can't be influenced in any way. Once your payment confirms, we take your transaction hash and the merkle root of the block containing your transaction and create another hash: hmac_sha512(merkleroot,txhash). If the decimal of the first two bytes of this hash are less than 1638 then you reset the Gold Coin. Since nobody can know the merkle root in advance there's no way to trick the system. This also lets you easily verify that resets were handled correctly.

So what are my odds of making a profit?

Technically speaking, your odds of making a 15% profit are 97.5%, assuming another buyer purchases the Gold Coin after you.

What happens if no one after me buys the Gold Coin?

If there's no purchase for 1 week, the Gold Coin will automatically reset to 0.1 bitcoins.

What happens if I send a payment but a few seconds before me another player buys the Gold Coin?

After a unique buying address is generated, purchases will be locked for 1 minute – so this should not happen. However, if an accidental double pay occurs, we will send a complete refund to the bitcoin address you provided and will include a public message via blockchain. Please note that refunds are made manually, so they could take a while.

I accidentally entered a wrong bitcoin address and my payout was sent to it – can you refund me?

Payouts are automatic, once they're done the coins are on their way to the address you gave us and a refund is not possible. So please be sure to double check your address.

I don't trust you, how do I know you won't run away with my coins?

We try to make everything as transparent as possible, but you really should not play if you don't trust the bitcoin Gold Coin.

What about bugs and flaws?

Please tell us about bugs you find! We're using the blockchain.info APIand can't guarantee 100% uptime. However, if there's a problem with their software or our server your transaction will still be in the block chain. We manually check incoming and outgoing transactions and will react accordingly.
