Probably they, as a platform, are not scammer. But, lots of scammers are there. They are a buggy service provider. It is better to use the Lending section of this forum with some trusted escrow - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=65.0
I think they are the same! There are a lot of scams around this forum as well! When you decide to get involved at on of them, you should learn their mechanics of giving and asking for the loans. So you have less chance of getting scammed!

I think probably well over half of the people on there will just be building up to run off with someones money at some point. Lending bitcoin in this way just seems like a ponzi where it's only a matter of time before someone gets burned.

You can try Bitcoin Lending Club. They do detailed tracking on lending and repayments and they've got a very low default rate.

They may take a while to respond but they are always helpful.   I'm sure support will resolve your issue within a few days.   BTCJam would stand to loose far too much by scamming people as they take a large cut of all loans.

wouldn't be the wisest thing is to send an e-mail to the support rather than screaming scam. Your post in here won't resolve your problem because i think that they don't even have a thread in btctalk.
yes they have thread in here and the founder btcjam name is Tulkas https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-btcjam-peer-to-peer-bitcoin-lending-112447
and OP maybe you can ask your problem in there
