Hit it a few times, that's what I always do :L

Getting very tempted to do that only with a lump hammer and smash it up and then accept donations for a new phone lol.

Have you tried other networks? Sometimes I have issues connecting my phone to my network because of the bands it uses.

I had that problem on my x10 with basebad problems and looked at that. I did try another network but still the same issues.

I had a similar problem with my HTC hd2 what worked for me was using the slide down menu at the top of the screen activate WiFi let ity turn on then it should turn its self off then tap the icon 3 times it should take a second or 2 but the WiFi should stay on.

Might work for you might not but no harm in trying

If that dosnt work then this should pick the ROM you want and keep flashing it don't format the device just keep flashing the same ROM let it boot then flash the same ROM over it again without formatting, sometimes in ROMs the loaders don't load everything flashing the same ROM repetidly will get all the files in place. It took me 4 flashes to get everything sorted this way

Also remember to restart the phone 3 times or more before installing any apps as this gives a better performance

Tried also I did a restart ones by holding up vol and power so phone resets that did work until phone crashed on unstable rom and crashed and then back to no WiFi. Each time I have formatted to each rom I have let it update and then come to the welcome screen and go though the set up options. Even when it gets to do you want to use WiFi and network and scan it not even showing their just faded out and wont switch on. Sometimes it will switch on and say turning on but again does not switch on. I thought would be hardware problem but factored that out with taking to shop and asking them to test it and they said it most likely software, firmware rom could be a mixture of one or the other and its trying to find what one is the cause. But so far done all the above and not got anywhere.

I had a problem like this on my phone.
I fixed it by turning the flight mode on, and two seconds later off. Somehow the problems were solved.

Which ROMs have you tried? It seems to be an issue with software rather than hardware from what I've read.

Hi thx for getting back to me. I have tried almost every Rom going from Gingerbread to jellybean to kitkat

http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-s/s-development

I have done most of the first page of them and some on the 2nd page and also gone back to stock and still the same results every time.

So am looking for someone who can get my WiFi restored and working again. I can offer remote access and Skype to speak on to walk though procedures your doing and if successfully to explain or show me how to fix if something like this happens again.

I have a sony xperia s that had a few problems on it from restarting to bricking or not doing anything at all. I decided on flashing to a custom rom to give it some more unff n speed n performance. After upgrading rom and kernel things where working perfectly fine till I noticed that their was no WiFi connection and the WiFi option faded out. Sometimes shows lit up but when goto turn on would not turn on.

These are the things I have already done.

  • 1 locked bootloader
    2 flashed to stock rom/kernel
3 waited for recovery to pop up n then welcome me with start up for settings.
4 WiFi broke will not switch on. Stuck in loop of turning on.
    5 repeated above steps
6 Rom on custom rom but kept crashing on a 2nd one I used to see if it was the other rom acting up however wifi working.
7 repeated above steps and went back to stock .96 rom
8 rooted phone and installed CWM
9 tried to put doomed kernel and other rom on works but still no wifi.
10 gone back to stock rom kernel locked bootloader and rooted and cwm installed.
11 also tried various stock roms using flashtool and also tried wifi modules and flashed.
12 Tried modules for WiFi and flashed.
13 Re done phone permissions using file browser and permission change. Also done though recovery. Still no Joy

Results every time

All roms working fine on stock and custom rom and kernel. However When trying to turn on WiFi it just says searching and then fades out or remains faded out after doing all the above. Normal Internet works perfectly fine but when trying to use WiFi this will not work. Any advise help to fix this I would be thankful of.

If successful person gets my problem resolved I will pay them 0.02 BTC or equivalent amounts worth in DOGE,LTC. Its not much but its free coin and within few month will of grown in value too.

I did have at one point WiFi working again using my broadband providers WiFi hotspot app, However shortly after phone crashed and restarted and found that WiFi again wouldn't work.

Bounty is currently set at 0.02BTC this might increase and an added extra bonus to the person who can solve this problem in the quickest time. Skype, teamviewer and cam can be provided going though options settings if needed.
