Feedback is wonderful and we appreciate it.  If you have any suggestions on how we can make that page better we would be willing to consider making changes.

The other consideration for that page is to show that Bitcoins are created free, which is a huge consideration as to the legality of using them to gamble with in the United States.

ahh... It makes much more sense in that context.
I see now why you don't just point them to the exchanges.

I'd still replace those links with just some plain text that describes it in layman's terms though. Otherwise, for certain people 'block' and 'mining pool' are just exit doors from your site. (even though they do open in a new window - once they've clicked there - it's eyes-glaze-over time.).

Good luck!

Again Bitcoiners are our target market.  That doesn't mean that we aren't interested in including those not in that group.

We also include the following in our Getting Started page for those who aren't already familiar with Bitcoin.

"There are also various websites with detailed information about Bitcoin available on the internet. Two we suggest reading are https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Introduction and http://www.weusecoins.com/getting-started.php."

so you imply you *are* interested in including non-bitcoiners.. and yet you include the geek stuff *before* those links.  Non-bitcoiners won't get that far because they'll think the whole thing doesn't apply to them. Bitcoiners won't really look at that page because they already know what bitcoin is.
So who is that page for?

Sounds like you don't particularly want feedback. It's just a suggestion that the page needs reworking. Take it or leave it.

I'm not a sports bettor so the "No Juice" thing confused me.  I don't know what "-149" means.

What I can say is that I play Blackjack at BTCSportsbetting.com, and they ROCK!  Great games, great customer service.  If you are in the USA, this is your only legal option for professional casino games.

I'm a gambler, as you might know from my posts.  I've played the amateur games posted in these forums previously.  This casino is the real deal, and you bet in BTC, not BTC-converted US $.

I'm not a shill.  They are not paying me anything.  If you follow my posts you know I'm happy to say nice things about good experiences, and bad things about bad experiences.

The fact that I'm up .6 BTC total after 3 weeks should not be a consideration  Grin

Actually our target market is people who are already involved in Bitcoin so scaring off the non-geeks isn't really a consideration.

Which makes
"What are Bitcoins?"
a strange question to ask on that page!

Your getting started section is somewhat strange...

How can I get Bitcoins?

There are two ways to create Bitcoins:
Create a new block (currently yields 50 Bitcoins).
  Participate in a mining pool.

In that section you link to the wiki pages https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Block and https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Pooled_mining

Are the sorts of people who might be interested in sports betting generally going to get any further than this?
It seems you've thrown them straight to the geek-aspects of bitcoins.

Looks like a way to scare them off to me!

This is just a quick update on the first week of business of BTCSportsbetting.com and the announcement of a new No-Juice Promotion in our Sportsbook.

Our first week ended well from a business standpoint.  We have more invite requests than we can handle but that will end soon.  We expect there to be a 24-hour turnaround on getting Invites out to those requesting them starting this week.

Although we won’t disclose exact numbers I will say that our customers beat us in the Casino and lost in the Sportsbook.

All of the feedback we have received for the Casino has been positive.  The only complaint we received for the Sportsbook was that our limit of 5 dBTC was too high.  Our No-Juice Micro-Wagering promotion will hopefully alleviate this complaint and bring some new players to us that have never tried sports betting.

We have identified the need for automated deposits and withdrawals and made this a priority.  Luckily we dodged a bullet prior to launch by choosing not to offer automated transactions as we were considering using MyBitcoin.com.  Hopefully we will have an in-house solution soon.  Since launch our deposit and withdrawal times have averaged less than 10 minutes, even after-hours.  Our current system seems to be functioning satisfactorily with the one difficulty being that some after-hours deposits go unnoticed as we don’t have anyone actively monitoring for them.  If you do send a deposit please utilize the Deposit Form in the Cashier to alert us of the incoming deposit and it will be promptly credited.

Now on for the good news; our new promotion.

No-Juice Micro Wagering!!!

We will now allow each customer to make two (2) No-Juice Wagers a day for up to 5 dBTC each.

How does this work?

We have our Sportsbook Software set to round to the nearest 1 dBTC and will now enable a minimum wager of only 1 dBTC.  A dBTC is equal to 1/10 of a BTC just to be clear.

Each customer can make two wagers per day for up to 5 dBTC and take advantage of this rounding to make a No-Juice wager.

Examples:

You can bet any game up to -149 to win 1 dBTC and you will risk 1 dBTC to win 1 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -124 to win 2 dBTC and you will risk 2 dBTC to win 2 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -116 to win 3 dBTC and you will risk 3 dBTC to win 3 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -112 to win 4 dBTC and you will risk 4 dBTC to win 4 dBTC.

You can bet any game up to -109 to win 5 dBTC and you will risk 5 dBTC to win 5 dBTC.

What does this mean?

It means that at the best you can get even money on an event that has almost a 60% probability of winning if you bet a game at -149 to win 1 dBTC.  It won’t make you rich but you definitely have an edge.

The small print..

Any bets over the limit of two per day will be cancelled, this includes if one person is using multiple accounts (yes we can tell).  Also No-Juice wagers will not count towards any rollover requirements.
