Does anybody know of somewhere or someone to exchange ZAR (cash, bank transfer, etc.) for BTC?

Any South Africans here want to cash out their BTC holdings?

Of course there is! You are on the right spot! Read along and you will get the idea.

Even though there are hundreds of crypto exchanges available worldwide, a lot of them are not very user-friendly nor easily navigable. Most of them are not having the ability to purchase crypto using fiat-based, and safety, security and transaction speed is very limited.

However, Kryptoro solved all of these challenges, AND YOURS TOO!

ZAR, Dirham & USD will be initially AVAILABLE only at Kryptoro.

If you wan't to fully read through the specifics, and see that all the prior mentioned features are legitmate, you can browse through our Whitepaper, check out our Medium profile, and our social media (Facebook, Twitter, and BitCointalk).

The lion roars!
I've traded on BitX about ten times and recommend them. I wrote this review of their service if you want more info.

Is the owner of BitX a member of this forum?

I don't know. But I believe there are two owners. They were on Reddit.

I see that RhinoSwap.com is also started trading in ZAR and has a local money order or bank transfer option but tried to post advert today and it still says invalid exchange.

When you find someone please have them add their data at http://bitcoincambio.com.  This site is a comprehensive list of everyone who is in general willing to buy or sell bitcoins for various currencies.  Its specifically meant for arranging in person transactions.

There are several nodes running Bitcoin that appear in South Africa:

There was a site, bitcoin.co.za but the site no longer responds.  The google cache shows an email and phone number yet:

You might wish to add a marker with some contact info, perhaps there are others nearby who just don't know about each other.

There are no exchangers listed yet on Bitcoin.local for South Africa:
  http://tradebitcoin.com

There are no sell orders listed for ZAR, but you can list ZAR buy orders on the Bitcoin Over the Counter (OTC) marketplace -- maybe someone will see it and offer to trade:
